This is nice balance between the overpowering Maduro, and the bland Connecticut wraps. This is a full flavored cigar that does not overpower the senses. I strongly recomend it for people who enjoy some flavor in their smoke. less

The CL3 is a solid smoke at a bargin price at auction or sales prices. They have a unique flavor that is medium to full with a combo of spicey and rich. The construction and burn is great and what you get with any quality long filler cigar. As with all cigars I get shipped usually 7 days or so to get to me I place them in a humidor for at least a week to two before smoking. Your first impression will be better if you do. As time goes on these only get more smooth. I have smoked some that have been in the humi for 2 weeks to 6 months and have enjoyed them all. less

Had to try the CL3 since I enjoyed the other Arganese blends, I thought they were very good. I first tried them at the big smoke in Chicago, too bad it was the last. The CL3 is a lot different than the president blend but a good smoke. Great draw and spicy smoke. less

I bought a couple five pack robustos on Cigar Monster. Looked good, felt good, smelled good, and took a bite well. The light up met me with nice interesting flavors and good potential. The ash never really grew, just flaked all over me and my book. I could not put it down for more than a couple few minutes without having to relight. It sours about half way and unfortunately the flavors never really woke up. Shame, seem to have good potential. I had the same experience with about 6 more over the next few weeks. I decided to save the last three to give away. But after about 6 weeks in the humidor I decided to try again. SURPRISE! Much better. Nice complexity, interesting flavors, ash held better, and no relights. Last two were better yet, well, at least compared to the first several. Not a fantastic smoke, but an interesting smoke. I won't go looking for these, but if you hand me one, I'll smoke it in about 6 or 7 weeks. "Life is too short for a bad cigar". less

Sadly, the draw is tight. No excuse. And again, the vitola is... yet another robusto. This Arganese needs to be rolled as a corona! Or even a lancero. As well, the going gets tough at the end. HOWEVER. The aroma is fabulous, this is a serious corojo ligero effort with ample substance, which, as others have noted, is not for the faint of heart. I have endured such flaws in Havanas for many years. Despite the drawbacks, there is an appeal to this cigar which will entice those who appreciate substance and can discern quality, without fretting about format . Worth checking out, especially considering the price point. less

Steve, bought a single robusto in AZ. It was very good. Gave me more pleasure than the torpedo. I also got a box of torpedos dirt cheap in the auction. Just be sure to cut at least half an inch from the head of the torpedo, or you will have a very tight draw. The torpedo gets better with humidor aging. I rate the robusto much better and a very enjoyable smoke. less

The Arganese brand of cigars seemed to appear out of nowhere. All of a sudden there were multiple blends, wrappers, etc. My first thought: "Here we go, another Don Nobody!" Then, a friend gave me a couple of the CL3 torpedos. Before I even attempted to smoke one, I took a gander at the Famous ad copy and did a little Google search. There was a video of Gene Arganese talking about the "Cubanesque" profile of the CL3. To me, whenever I hear a maker of non-Cuban cigars start talking about his Cuban taste profiles, I put my ears in B.S. protective mode. What did interest me was the talk of a high ligero composition of the blend. I like a full bodied cigar, on occasion, so I thought I should give this cigar an honest effort. It is a ligero laden cigar; high test for my sense of taste, and very enjoyable. Cubanesque??? C'mon. It's a good cigar, but IMHO stronger than the Cuban cigars I smoked when they were legal. Anyway, I picked up a box on the auction at a silly low price and I'm going to enjoy every stick. After this auction, and the low winning bids, I don't expect to see Arganese CL3 torpedoes on the auction again. To all my herfing friends to whom I didn't tell about this auction...okay, I was a little selfish. LOL...not. less
