I just smoked one of these "off the truck", and it was quite good overall. Full flavored, muscular, the spice of good aged tobacco. Having just about finished a box of Pepin's Vegas Cubanas I'd say that I prefer the 70th anniversary; it's a step up from an already good starting point - but I'd still take a regular Padron over both of them any day at regular prices. That said, it's good enough that I'm considering a box of the 70th anniversary Garcias over a regular box of Padrons while the Garcias are on sale, making them a little less expensive than the Padrons just this month. It could be a nice change, not too much of a leap but enough to keep them both interesting. less

I was hesitant at first to purchase a 5 pack. Garcia makes house brands for other online merchants but they tend to be only so-so. Not here. Don Pepin put his back into it on this one. The familiar spiciness...smooth and silky...a bit of a head spinner...all the things I love about Garcia cigars. And the best part is the reasonable pricing. I would put this cigar up against many of his much more expensive sticks and that makes it quite a deal. Good on ya', Famous Smoke! less

This cigar was very nice! It was rich and flavorful right down to the nub. Perhaps "medium" in the strength department......this cigar delivered a complex range of flavors from pepper to mint to coffee and rich earth with a bit of woodiness. It does taste a bit different from other DPG blends and reminded me of the original Cabaiguan Guapos. less

These are very good. Perhaps not Don Pepin's best work, but definitely worth the price and worth a try if you enjoy his other cigars. I'm guessing the negative review from Paul means he was either having a really bad day or he's hoping to save them all for himself. I've smoked most of a box over about 60 days and they tend to start off spicy, but then sort of "flatten-out." toward the end. Haven't seen that very often and never with Pepin's smokes. Construction, draw, burn, consistency and appearance are superb! The taste reminds me of the 601's and I prefer Pepin's Blues and Blacks. Given 'em a try. I think you'll enjoy them. less

Being a big fan DPG this cigar is truly a disappointment.. Bought a box and paired this cigar with many different libations and none could rescue my purchase. This cigar falls flat on taste and out of character of the DPG profile. To its credit the apprearance, construction and burn are good, but it still gets two thumbs down. less

Bought a box of these on a hunch and glad I did! Typical DPG flavor profile - blast of spice the first quarter inch then mellowing to an earthy, flavorful smoke. Dark chocolate fragrant wrapper with just a few visible veins. Solidly and uniformly packed. Perfect draw even after resting in the humidor only two weeks. Wonderful, slow burn with only one touch up. Smoked it to the nub! less

Stopped at the Famous Smoke Shop over the 4th of July weekend while visiting relatives in Easton. Had just read The Stogie Guys review on this cigar and their visit to the shop for the anniversary. Following a wonderful shopping experience at the store I shared these cigars with my son and nephew poolside that evening. What a great cigar experience with good friends. I have two more aging in my humidor at home and plan to order more. I recommend them also. Thanks Stogie Guys and the wonderful people at Famous. less
