If you weren't smoking a La Gloria Cubana cigar during the 90's cigar boom, you might as well have been smoking ham. Yes, they were that hot. The La Gloria Cubana Classic cigars shown here represent the post-Havana blends originally made at the El Credito factory in “Little Havana” Miami, Florida. Master blender extraordinaire, Ernesto Perez-Carrillo took over the tabacalera from his late father in 1980, making cigars for the local clientele.
So impressed with the richer flavor and character of a Cuban Davidoff gifted to him in 1982, 10 years later Ernesto debuted the now-classic La Gloria Cubana Wavell. It scored 90 points in the September 1992 issue of a new magazine called Cigar Aficionado. Cigar smokers went wild for it, putting La Gloria Cubana cigars on the road to fame and fortune. According to Ernesto, it was adding fuller and richer-tasting Nicaraguan tobacco to the blend and he never looked back.
Today, La Gloria Cubana Classic cigars are made at the El Credito factory in the Dominican Republic under the supervision of Yuri Guillen who has continued the brand’s boutique style blending legacy. Rich and balanced in flavor, a fully-aged core of Dominican and Nicaraguan tobaccos are offered in either Ecuadorian Sumatra Natural or Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro wrappers. Priced affordably, La Gloria Cubana Classic is offered in a wide choice of shapes and sizes, too. Need more proof? Five-star reviews from our customers include such comments as. . .
