"Fine cigar"

I got three of these with a Java sampler, and liked these better than the Javas. When I compared prices, I was overjoyed. First thing I did was pick up some on auction. I have smoked about 18 of them so far and only had one that had a hard draw. Wrapper stays intact, smoke is thick and smells great, adn it stays lit pretty well too. I smoke them with a mug of coffee -- a nice 30-45 minute morning break before the day begins. less

Not exactly what I expected. These sticks look good, burn well enough and are firm. Prelight aroma is very pleasant with a mild coffee essence. Unfortuneately, there is an artificial sweetener taste that I can't handle. Would be better if not sweetened at all. less

I got some of these recently and shared them with a co-worker who enjoys cigars also. We were both impressed the the favor and smoothness. No bitter aftertaste at all. I have found nothing negative about these. All positives. less

"Great Little Smoke, Very Pleased"

I had no idea what to expect from this little guy. I've traditionally been attracted to robustos or anything beefier but have recently been drawn to try something with a smaller ring guage, which led me to these and a few others. Plus, two of my brothers-in-law come over on Sunday evenings now and they like something a little smaller and with a nice flavor or sweet aroma to it. That being said, I thought I'd give these a try. I'm very happy with this stick, to say the least. The bouquet before lighting is pretty nice, and the cigar looks great. Honestly, the construction is flawless, which leads to a perfect burn, the ash is pure white and solid until I tap it off. The draw is wonderful and there's tons of thick, creamy smoke, just like the description states. The smoke's aroma is very pleasant as well. All-in-all, in my book, it's a winner, and I'll definitely buy more when these are gone... great coffee companion for sure! Get some! less

"Gets a bad wrap that it doesn't deserve"

I have had Solo Cafe the old and new blends and they are both very good. I think it is funny how several people complain about how they burn, how the ash holds up, and also compares them to the Drew Estates Java. Lets see Java Robusto $130 per box Solo Cafe $46 a box you can't compare the two. Additionally for the people talking about burn and firmness of the ash there is way too many other variables to consider (where you smoked it, humidor conditions, etc..)
If you are looking for a good smoke for a good cost you can't beat the Solo Cafe's.

"Wafe Good but wish was more flavor"

I just got me a bundle and the date on them were almost a year ago normally I would be VERY pleased as age is always good for non flavored smokes. In this case though they are flavored so I found them to be a lot less flavorful. I hope they continue to make this vitola but it would be nice to have more flavoring. I do like the fact that the sweet tip is almost gone by this point as I normally don't like that but I do enjoy the coffee like flavor and if it were a bit stronger It would be great. In this case I suppose its because of the age. So buy them up guys and gals cause the longer they sit the flavor dissipates. Also the wrapper color varies A Lot but that doesn't affect the smoke. This would be much better in maduro though. Over all I like these smokes and they are perfect for my 30 min commute to work they go great with coffee and the aroma it leaves in my truck isn't bad not like a stale tobacco smell but more coffee. Also I don't think I will try any other vitola and if they aren't making this one anymore then Ill have to deal. One more thing as a substitute for a Java I would choose this in a second over Isla Del Sol. (I don't know any other coffee cigars) less

I've enjoyed solo's before, but was weary due to the negative comments of late, but the ones I got from auction recently were just like the ones I've had before. They aren't as good as a java, but when you can by 3 for the price of 1 java they are good enough for me! Right out of the box, they had good burn, smooth smoke and good taste. It is true that at first they have a sweet hint like Nutrasweet, but that wears off after a few seconds in your mouth. less
