"works great, highly recommend!"
I bought the ultra, and it worked great for a 7-8 months, then stopped registering the water cartridge, it was full but was reading low water all the time and beeping. Long story short I called the company and they sent me a new one with a new water cartridge as well. I haven't had a problem since.
It's nice to know I know my smokes are being well taken care of and cigar oasis stands behind their products with their great customer service.

"Flawless peformance when INSTALLED CORRECTLY"
I understand that most cigar lovers would be very excited when a their new toy arrived that would be keeping their babies in optimum condition. But that's where the understanding stops. I don't know how many people wrote that their C.O. Ultra's ran constantly, went through a ton of water, burnt through batteries, didn't keep their stock properly humidified, didn't read the same as the analog hygrometer, and eventually failed. The list goes on. People, these things need to be installed as per the directions provided by Famous. Above all, they require a little common sense. If they say 75 cigars max, don't use them on 90. If they can't keep the box wet, chances are, you're box hasn't been properly seasoned. If they don't read the same as your analog, I bet the analog hasn't been calibrated. I bought 2 Bally IV Humidors and 2 Cigar Oasis Ultra's during a great sale here on Famous. I'm a very impatient person, but I wouldn't allow myself to rush the process. I took 3 days to properly season the humidors. I took 8 hours and calibrated the hygrometers. This part is important...I used the rectangular humidifiers that were provided with each humidor, as well as 1 bag of Cigar Mechanic crystals in each. It is IMPORTANT to use at least one passive system in addition to an active one. They compliment each other and stablize the environment much more efficiently. I put 75 cigars in one and 77 in the other 2 weeks ago. The Ultras immediately ramped up to 75 percent and settled to an even 70 within a couple hours. They haven't moved outside of 69-71 percent since. Also, I haven't refilled either one of them, or any of the passive units since. I just checked them and they won't need filling for quite some time. I put my ear to each box a couple times a day and have only heard them running a total of 4 times. These units are exceptional. Be patient, and don't be let other people scare you off. Happy smoking!

"The Cigar Oasis XL Plus is a great unti!"
I own 2 cigar oasis XL Plus inits. One is in my 400 count humidor and the other is in my 100 count humidor. They tell you that the xl plus is for larger capacity humidors, but I have been quite pleased with the results even in the smaller capacity box. You may have to adjust the humidity on the unit to be lower than you intitially desire, but the use of another hygrometer will tell you that the unit is running at your desired humidity. The unit is very powerful and will recapture the humidity very quickly, they will not be running for more than 10-15 seconds at a time before full capacity humidity is regained, especially when used in these smaller boxes. The larger boxes may run longer depending on how many new cigars have been placed in the humidor(or how long it has been opened. The products have good replacement guarantees and I have never experience bad service. It may take a day to hear from them, but they take care of business. I'm a fan, and I have a lot of cigars on hand; probably about 300--400 hundred at a tme. I like to share the things I enjoy(like cigars), that's why I'm telling you this is a no brainer. It works, and takes the guess work out, along with the fears of bad cigar keeping.

"Readings are off, but consistent with humidificati"
Purchased the Cigar Oasis July 08. After my box was cured (September 08) I set the Oasis between 67-68.8% on the settings, I relied on the humid readings on the Ultra only to find my stogies really soft and plumping up (January 09). Got a Xikar humidification device (February 09) to find out the Ultra was reading 68% and the Xikar was reading 89%. I dropped the settings on the Ultra to 55%-59.8% in February 09 and now its at a perfect environment for the stogies @ 66%-69% give or take (April 09). Now, the atmosphere is getting humid in nature and the box is coming into its own. Great Device, consistent with the humidification but poor readings, but does the job. Get a Xikar humidification device if you plan to get the Ultra and read the humidity and temperature on the Xikar humidification device.

"Disappointed with the Ultra..."
This machine runs constantly in a tightly sealed 75 stick humidor and needs water constantly. It fights to stay at 70% humidity whereas the xikar round digital claims it's 82% inside. Not sure which to believe but the cigars are too soft so I'm going with the Xikar digital!

"Nice Paperweight"
This really sucks! The second day of operation, it dried up, so I decided to re-soak. After doing this, I could never get the humidity past 49%. I tried to contact the company, but couldn't. Also, the battery operation is a joke. I decided to run with the battery because my Humidor was not near an outlet. I ended up moving my Humidor near an outlet because the system drains the batteries very quickly. It makes for a nice paperweight!

"Don't Trust This Device!!"
I put a Cigar Oasis Ultra in my humidor and set it at 68% humidity. It settled at 78%!!!! I sent it back and got another one. Same thing. If you have one, verify the actual humidity with a calibrated hygrometer. You may be destroying your cigars.

"Poor design; it runs all the time in a 75 cigar hu"
I knew that I should have bought another XL Plus; it is oversized but it works. I think that the Ultra is just poor engineering - it runs all the time trying to keep a 75 cigar humidor stable.
