"Just as with your cigars, you must provide adequate storage conditions for your wines," writes wine enthusiast and critic, Larry Tepper, in "Council on Ageing Wine Part 2: Wine Storage for the Enthusiastic (yet patient) Collector," which is featured in this month's CigarAdvisor Magazine. Premium cigars require a humidor to keep them fresh and stable, while wines require a similar storage environment. "You can invest in a modestly-priced home wine cellar unit like a Vinotemp or Koldfront, or a fairly pricey Sub-Zero model," adds Mr. Tepper. "Or you can rent a wine locker in a climate controlled facility." A basement that's "chilly" year-round also makes an ideal storage space, or the floor of your coolest closet. The key is that the temperature must remain constant.
