As 2011 begins its ascent as December fades, it appears that in spite of the economy, 2010 turned out to be a pretty good year for Famous Smoke Shop thanks to our loyal customers. This year also saw the debut of some excellent cigars on both the national release and the private label fronts. What’s most comforting is, that by staying the course – providing a broad selection of premium cigars at discount prices and superb customer service – the company has continued to grow. Moreover, next Spring, Famous Smoke Shop will unveil its newest and biggest location in the company’s 71 year history. Following are a few of the highlights from the past year.
In 2009, Famous Smoke Shop held a raffle that helped raise money for ProCigar.org, the tobacco growers’ and cigar makers’ professional association in The Dominican Republic. Then, in February, Famous attended the 2010 festival accompanied by several staff members and five customers who were fortunate enough to win all-expenses-paid tickets to the international event. The annual festival includes cigar factory tours, golfing, local excursions, fine dining, entertainment, and of course, great cigars. The 2010 promotion was so successful that Famous is currently running the raffle again for ProCigar 2011.
In June, Famous held its 4th Cigar Expo, which has become one of the most anticipated cigar events of year. 400-plus cigar smokers get to mingle while enjoying great food, drink, cigars, and meet the leading cigar manufacturers in the business. Cigar stars like Rocky Patel, Nick Perdomo, Jonathan Drew, Jose Blanco, Avo Uvezian, Manuel Quesada, Jose Pepin Garcia, Jorge Padron, Christian Eiroa, Jesus Fuego, Charlie Torano, Nestor Plasencia, George Rico, Jose Oliva, and Pete Johnson are more than a handful of personalities who make attending the event even more worthwhile.
New private label cigars that arrived at Famous this year were:
- ACID Subculture Satori & Tri-Borough
- Artisan Honduran & Nicaraguan
- Famous Pvt. Sel. Signature by Garcia Family
- Famous Pvt Sel. Signature by Litto Gomez
- Famous Pvt Sel. Signature by Rocky Patel
- Final Blend
- La Floridita Fuerte
- Maroma Dulce & Fuerte
- Patel Bros. Next Generation

Finally, since Arthur usually thanks all the customers personally each year, I don’t want to steal his thunder, but on behalf of everyone at Famous Smoke Shop, please accept our sincere thanks for another great year, and here’s wishing you all a prosperous 2011.
