Ok, I have had this thing for a few months now and it has been working great up until last week. My humidor would not get higher than 55%. I refilled my Oasis, shook it, blew into it, and put it back in and it still did not work. After looking at it, I figured out what the problem was. When the top part is removed from the water reservoir, there are 2 small clear plastic diaphragms that act as one-way valves for the airflow. I figured that my Oasis was not working because the diaphragms had gotten to moist and were sticking closed, causing my Oasis not to work. I removed the Oasis from my humidor and let it dry out for a couple of days. I then reinstalled it in my humidor and I am happy to say it is once again holding my cigars at a constant 71%. So, if you guys have an Oasis and are experiencing problems with your unit, try taking it out of you humidor and letting it dry out. It worked for me.

When I initially ordered my humidor (200+), I came across this. Even though it was a little pricey ($120 at that time) & it does take up the space of approximately 10 Robustos (space needed for side vent intakes), I figured I'd give it a shot. I set it and forget it at 71%. Since I have multiple brands of cigars and don't major flavor mixing, I leave the celos on. WOOOW! I just top it off every 2-3 weeks...and that's it! I would not hesitate to buy this again for another humidor. People are always commenting on the nice even burn they get on various cigars I have. I wish I could take credit other than buying it, but I know it's due to the Oasis XL itself. No too moist or too dry cigars. No cracking, peeling or splitting. A must to try.

I bought this thing after constantly fighting with my humidor. The Oasis works great forme. I have only had it for about a week now,but so far I have had no problems. My Humidor holds 75 cigars and the Oasis keeps them at 70%. Thanks!

HAVE THE XL FOR ABOUT 6 MONTHS. HAD TO FILL WITH DISTILLED WATER ABOUT 3 TIMES. HOLDS A STEADY 70 PERCENT HUMIDITY AND SAVES TIME BY NOT HAVING TO CHECK SOMETHING ELSE EVERY WEEK. USING IT IN A 300 CIGAR HUMIDOR, WITH ABOUT 260 CIGARS AT A TIME. SET IT ON A 3" BLOCK OF WOOD AND THIS WAY IT DOES NOT TOUCH ANY OF THE CIGARS.GOOD STUFF.

This thing worked fine for about 6 weeks. Now it just runs continuously past the set point. I fortunatley caught it before my cigars were all ruined. A major disappointment with this item!

Held 70% for about a week and a half, shutting off for 30 second intervals and coming right back on. Then progressivly the humidity level dropped, barely holds 50% now and runs constantly, nothing has changed in my house or humidor, so I am guessing it is this device. Very disapointing as I thought I had found a way to keep my large humidor at the proper humidity...

This really sucks! The second day of operation, it dried up, so I decided to re-soak. After doing this, I could never get the humidity past 49%. I tried to contact the company, but couldn't. Also, the battery operation is a joke. I decided to run with the battery because my Humidor was not near an outlet. I ended up moving my Humidor near an outlet because the system drains the batteries very quickly. It makes for a nice paperweight!

I put a Cigar Oasis Ultra in my humidor and set it at 68% humidity. It settled at 78%!!!! I sent it back and got another one. Same thing. If you have one, verify the actual humidity with a calibrated hygrometer. You may be destroying your cigars.

I knew that I should have bought another XL Plus; it is oversized but it works. I think that the Ultra is just poor engineering - it runs all the time trying to keep a 75 cigar humidor stable.

A major disappointment. Not to be trusted.

Worst customer service in the cigar industry, PERIOD.

The digital readout is a bit confusing but when set, my humidor registers consistent humidity. Refilling every 3 months seems like a luxury compared to passive sponge units. A push of a button indicates if distilled water needs to be added. Very pleased.

While I like Cigar Oasis products (and I've bought quite a few), their customer service is LOUSY! They could take a lesson or two from Famous.

Waste of money. Since the hydrometer is attached to the unit, it reads the moisture within the unit not within the humidor. It always read way above 70% while my digital hydrometer on the box lid showed below 70%. Since I set the Oasis to turn on at 70%, it never turned on; however, for some reason it needed to be refilled with in 3-4 months. I live at the beach, not a dry atmosphere. In about 6 months the unit stopped working and showed an error code that is not in the instruction manual. The manufacturer never responded to e-mails. Piece of Junk.

These are great. I have used one in a 300 count humidor now for about a year and a half. I have refilled it with distilled water a number of times and it keeps everything right where you set it humidity wise. I would never go back to any other type of humidification system now that I have used this!
