Not Perfect But What Is?

Great little smoke... A nice half hour of bliss as my wife actually likes the aroma. I enjoy the easy taste, draw, great ash and even burn. The appearance is striking enough that when you hand one to a buddy he thinks you are giving him much more than a stick you can buy for $3.50! ItÂ’s my after dinner go to smoke and I will always have a box in the "every day" humi.

A box for under $70.00...best deal on earth

Everything about this cigar is awesome, but the fact that you are getting a box of these for under 70 bucks is the best thing about it.You usually pay double for a cigar like this....it's like stealing.

Very inconsistant, but ok for "cheap" smoking

I initially had good impression of these cigars, but soon found them to be very inconsitant, both flavor wise, draw etc. Taste is ok sometimes and unacceptable other times. I personally do not care for the very light packing style. Draw is too easy, burns uneven. These are ok for occasional "goofing around" but should not be a part of a serious smokers selection.

great cigar

This was my first time buying a box of these and I was completely satisfying. The construction was not great but the quality of the smoke was smooth and mild. I could smoke 3 day easy, the best part is that they are not harsh and could be smoked until you burn your lips. would recommend to beginners any-day of the week.

Another great cigar from Fuente, I tend to like maduro cigars and this one was a great smoke. I also like the 8-5-8 maduro from Fuente and this cigar seems to be a little better made than the 8-5-8 and comes in the cedar sleeve. If you like maduro cigars you can't go wrong with either.

Loved it

Granted I'm no expert, but of the cigars I've tried so far the 8-5-8 Maduro was a very enjoyable experience. I agree that it does get a little harsh after the band, and mine went out shortly thereafter, but up to that point it was pure pleasure. Will buy and smoke again, I don't know how can you beat it for under 5 bucks.

Inexpensive, but watch the draw

I enjoyed several of these from my local tobacco shop. Nice, mild, inexpensive cigar. So I bought a box. I found that 1/3 of them were so tight, I simply couldn't smoke them. And it takes a lot for me to throw away a cigar. At least another third were tight enough that I felt like I was fighting the cigar the whole time. Only about ten or twelve had a draw loose enough that I could enjoy them.
So what to do? I hope I just got a bad box, and may try another one of these days.
As for the good ones: the Curly Head is a mild, inexpensive cigar. The filler is very short, so it spreads a lot of ash around. If you can live with that (and the inconsistent construction) it's not a bad cigar to have around. Great for beginners who are experimenting.

Always full flavored but never with a bite. Smoothe, great ash. Benefits from a month + in a humidor, but, hey, what doesn't? I am fortunate enough to be but 20 minutes from the Fuente HQ in Tampa, so I always have'em around. Do yourself a favor and buy a box. ALways great.

Are they now rushing the hands of time?

The Chateau Fuente, a "go to" smoke now for quite a while, seems to have suffered from a lack of quality lately. Some serious burn issues, splitting, and falling apart seems to be the rule for the past few months. I have stopped buying these due to the poor construction quality. Are the Fuentes sacrificing quality for quantity, in order to meet the demand for their product? I hope not ..... but fear that might be the case. No more Fuentes for the time being.

Go To Cigar For Sure

I have smoked many of these. This is one of the most complex cigars on the market -- for a little over three bucks a stick. Spicey, but always well fermented and aged, never a sign of ammonia. They smoke well when fresh and when aged. I always have a box of these in the humidor. Every time I smoke one that slogan comes across my mind, "Only Fuente is Fuente."

Nice cigar

This was a very nice cigar. I usually purchase the Double Chateau's with the Sun Grown Wrapper, but thought I would give this a try. Typical Fuente experience, but a bit too mild for my tastes. This may also be due to my smoking it in the evening rather than the morning. Either way, it's a fine cigar and smoked beautifully. If you are a cigar newcomer or know of anyone that is, you can't go wrong with offering a Double Chateau with the natural wrapper.

Nice flavor for a mild cigar

I find many "mild" cigars to taste like big cigarettes: they're bitter and/or sour, with no good flavor to compensate. Two I've found that are different are the Arturo Fuente Curly Head, and the Casa Torano Robusto. The Curly Heads have a nice sweet aroma, with a nutty, toasty flavor, and hints of mocha. These sticks are delicious, but not rich or complex.

My deserted island pick...

I haven't smoked every size of every brand, but I've smoked enough to know what's good. And the Curly Head Deluxe Maduro is the one that always makes me wonder why I keep looking for something I like better. It's the one I always try and have on hand, and when I'm running short, I'll only smoke them when I really have time to just sit and enjoy it.
Anyway, 'nuff said. This one is my pick if I had to choose only one to have available if stranded on a deserted island.

I am a big fan of the Cubanitos. Fuente makes some of my favorite larger cigars, but sometimes you want something smaller. These cigars have a lot of flavor and are surprisingly enjoyable. Can't make up your mind to buy? READ THIS!!

Ok here is the best description of this cigar. Just get your self in the mind set that this cigar isn't called a "curly head" any more its a AF flavored cigar called the "Nilla Wafer". You remember the cookies that you ate when you were little that were a cross between an animal cracker and a cookie! Just like the nilla wafer this cigar has very light flavor and is smooth. For me the flavor is a little too light and the burn is a little too off. But its not bad if your looking for a very mild inexpensive cigar, just not for me.

Never Wanna Run Out Again!

I was caught by surprise when Famous ran out of Fuentes early this year and had to settle for buying Privada #1's to tie me over til the next shipment comes in. These are so consistent, flavorful and reasonably priced, that they make a good any time smoke. Only now I am down to my last Spanish Lonsdale, my last Royal Salute, and the only other Fuentes that I have left are 'special occasion' sticks: a couple of maduro Hemingways and some Anejos. I never wanna run out of Spanish Lonsdales again. Note to self: when they're back in stock, I had better get 2 boxes!

Keep Returning to These

Once in a while I enjoy a real "stogie". But in the interest of moderation, and the fact that at a reasonable puff rate, this small size still lasts me a half hour, this is my daily treat. Have tried a dozen other makes and nothing has the rich, complex, yet moderate flavor of a cubanito. Other rating factors? Other than taste, who really cares? But I find the draw good, just an occasional unravel (usually due to bad clip), and the look is dull and rough, but seriously, who cares? The consistency is amazing. I burn my fingers on the last half inch before the taste changes from that of the first puff.

There I was enjoying this great cigar when I hear a slight crack and look to find that the wrapper was coming undone. The wrapper was as dry as a dead leaf. This Fuente is small but large on flavor. It is the perfect size for a half hour lunch break. The wrapper is excellent and with all AF smokes it's quality is above all for the price. The stick gives plenty of smoke and the spice only gets better as you get to the band. Perfect cigar for the price. If you don't pick some up the better I will be.
