Bland...

With the natural wrapper, there is very little flavor going on here.

This review was written about Andros Corona by Vectorer of Kalamazoo Tower on November 16, 2008

Not bad at all

A decent light-flavored-yet-medium-bodied cigar, especially for the price. The burn and draw were excellent and if you don't like a strong flavor in your cigars, it's a winner.

This review was written about Andros Robusto by JW of St. Louis on October 3, 2008

A cheap, tasty smoke

This isn't too popular, or so it seems, but I enjoyed it. The wrapper was quite dry, and I wouldn't call it consistent, but at no point did I find the flavor unpleasant. I liked it, and would recommend it to others.

Better with age

I have let these cigars age and am extremely pleased.

not too good...

glad it was bought only as 1 of 5 pc sampler

Inconsistent, poorly rolled, disappointing

From the first to the last, sadly a bad choice. Some were rolled way too loosly, many had imperefections that would leak smoke and cut down on the draw...but the taste was good,

YUK! Tastes like KEROSENE!

I just threw away a whole bundle (25) of these. They smell and taste just like kerosene. Could have been a fluke, but they were truly disgusting.

This last batch.....

has been terrible. Don't taste the same and can't keep them lit. This was my favorite everyday cigar, but now, I don't think I'll buy any for awhile.

So So At Best

I picked up a bundle of these on auction for $18 which put them at .72 cents each and sense I tend to lean to the Lonsdale side for cigars I figure what the heck. The construction and appearance where ok and the burn overall was good didn’t go out or need to be relit. I had no problem with the draw but the taste was not bad but less then expected or hoped for. I’ve only had these a few weeks, maybe after a few months in the humidor they will improve. If you can pick up a bundle for $18 - $20 buck then go for it but for the same price you can get the Famous Dominican 4000 Lonsdale which I really like and they have a great flavor. So its back to the 4000’s for me!

Good low price stogie

As with the previous reviewer, I picked up a 5 pack on action for $6 bucks. The construction and appearance is good. It had a nice easy draw to it with an even burn all the way to the end of the smoke. Taste was adequate for a smoke of its price so I feel that overall I got a good deal for the price and size (Churchill) WoooW! As long as the priced stays down I?ll look to buy some more.

Nasty

These are really pretty nasty to me, they have a crapy odor to them before lighting and unfortunately they taste like they smell. Do youself a favor and spend a little more and buy something that dosnt smell like a turd right out of the wrapper. I was very disappointed with these. Especially after reading the reviews.

Fast becoming my favorite everyday cigar.

real nice cigar

just got these for a great price from your website, they are my new everyday cigar, i defy anyone to say this isn't a good cigar, my favorite is macanudo, the andros, believe it or not is right behind the macs, even burn smooth not harsh at all,, thank you

Wrapper dry

Only problem I'm having is that the outer wrapper has been overdry lately, and cracks and peels too easily.

Finally!!!

I've really been looking for a good "everyday" cigar that didn't taste like an oversized cigarette, and this is definately it!! I smoked one right upon receiving them, and was very pleasantly surprised! Great flavor, good draw and very pleasant aroma. Some tend to burn a little unevenly, but all you have to do is touch 'em with your lighter from time to time, (no biggie). Some have poorly constructed wrappers as well, but don't let the appearance fool you. You will not be disappointed with this one! Great buy!! Proof that price is not always an indicator of a good cigar. Thanks Famous!!

Good Cigar for the price

Great to have for a back up. Medium to mild, burns even and has a good aroama.

This review was written about Andros Corona by Bobby of Carollton, Ga. on October 21, 2007

Hard Draw, inconsistent

Hard draw smoke from most in bundle. One's that were acceptable draw were certainly ok as an everyday smoke. Can't recommend however, for the hard draw problem.

This review was written about Andros Churchill by Tubbysomis of CA on August 2, 2007

Excellent value and smooth smoke

Excellent value cigar. Not a Montecristo, however an excellent smoke. Medium bodied with a smooth creamy taste and slight nutty finish with no after bitterness. Nice aroma, and well made with a very good finish wrapper. Overall pleasant experience.

This review was written about Andros Toro by D. McGuire of AZ on July 23, 2007

Little too mild for me, ok for price though!

given the price point I'd say these are decent sticks. I really don't care that much for them though as I like a stronger/fuller flavor, especially in a manduro. Draw on the one's I smoked were fine. Construction was fine. I just didn't find the taste and flavor to my liking. All in all, not a bad cigar, just not my cup of tea.

Good Cigar & Good Value

Excellent quality for the price. Good draw, excellent burn, firm ash, nice and tasty with no harsh aftertaste. Good everyday cigar for quality smokes at bargin price.

So-so Andros

Bought on auction for $1/5pk so can't say much, but not much to say. Very bland, but decent draw and construction. Good for handouts to the uninitiated.

Fine tasting cigar

Simply my everyday favorite for the money and for the taste.

This review was written about Andros Corona by SteveT of Georgia on February 21, 2007

Good value for the money...

I let these bundles sit for at least 30 days and they are a great smoke for the price. They are not your "high end" smoke, but a good value at the price. I have been smoking for over 30 years and my opinion is these are an excellent value for the money. Will always be a staple in my humidors.

This review was written about Andros Churchill by A. A. Garcia of Florida on December 30, 2006

Save Your Money

The good news is that I won these on an auction for just a buck. The bad news is that I won that auction. These smokes usually run for about $2.00. In my humble opinion, the are over priced by $1.50. These mild but harsh tasting smokes come from the Dominican Republic and wrapped in a Brazilian Maduro wrapper. They measure 6.75 x 50. They have a great appearance , but the construction is a little subject. I got a long runner that eventually equaled out. The taste improved towards the end, but it was a little to late.

Disapointing Maduro corona

Dissapointed with these. Very hard draw as if 'plugged' and the few in the bundle of 25 that didn't had an odd taste.

This review was written about Andros Corona by CreekEnd of UK on November 14, 2006

Underrated

Andros is one of the more underrated cigars on Famous. Nice, even burn, good draw, and the taste is not bad at all, consistent right up until the end. A great value.

This review was written about Andros Corona 5 Pack by Jackson of Wisconsin on August 20, 2006

Interesting but inconsistent.

I really wanted this cigar to work out as an every day cigar, however, it just didn't make it. Not because of flavor, but because of inconsistency in the quality of the rolling. I had several "hard drawing" cigars in the package.

This review was written about Andros Robusto 5 Pack by John Buckley of New Hampshire on July 18, 2006

Didn't do it for me

Ordered a bundle of something else and a single of the Andros Toro to try out. So I only had one to try and maybe I got the one bad one but......... Very tight draw, the wrapper was coming apart and couldn't get much taste out of it.

This review was written about Andros Toro by Richard of Maryland on May 25, 2006

How else can I say MILD

Not much to say...if you like a very mild smoke then the natural wrappers Lonsdale are what you're looking for. Very mild and they smell good too. Good down to the last two inches then they become throw aways.

This review was written about Andros Lonsdale by Mike D of Belleville IL on May 4, 2006

Glad that I tried them.

I have to say that I have smoked better cigars, but this wasn't bad. The five pack I recently purchased came undamaged. Their construction was better than what I had expected, from reading some of the other reviews, but these looked good. The first aroma from the cigar was good and anticipation to light it was growing. I thought the draw was good, and not at all labored. It burnt well and the ash held on for life and finaly dropped around 3/4". It had a spicey flavor that continued throughout the entire smoke. The Andros wasn't a bad smoke but I would only give it a 3 on a scale of one to ten. This 5 pack was worth the money. Glad I tried them.

Not my cup of tea!

I wish I had my $30 back. These taste like cigarette tobacco. Not to mention they practically ruined one of my humidors with the foul odor these cigars ommit. I would not recommend this brand.

NOT BAD FOR THE PRICE

WON A 5 PACK ON AUCTION FOR ONLY 5 BUCKS, THE DRAW WAS GOOD BURNED REAL WELL, NOT BAD FOR AN EVERYDAY SMOKE, NOTHING GREAT BUT HEY FOR A DOLLAR FOR A CHURCHILL ITS A PRETTY GOOD BARGAIN , I'D SMOKE THESE AGAIN

This review was written about Andros Churchill 5 Pack by GINO of NYC on February 13, 2006

Nice surpise

The Andros Corona Maduro is a very pleasant surprise. At 25 sticks for $30 it is an affordable "everyday" stick. So far, the construction and burn properties from my bundle have been just fine, making the Andros a "cruise-control" smoke that you could manage anywhere. As advertised, it is pretty mild, but it is by no means "all hot air". The Maduro has a pleasant taste and the finish is nice enough you may well find yourself "nubbing" these. If I were to criticize it, it would be in the "Looks Dept." but it really isn't too bad there either. For the $, I'm, impressed.

Garbage

Do not waste your money on this crap. Worse than a Swisher. Even for those who don't know a thing about good quality cigars, like all those who gave this piece of crap good reviews, should know better.

This review was written about Andros Robusto by Mike of Salinas, CA on June 18, 2005

Not Worth It

This cigar was horrible. It was not worth the dollar I spent on it. The taste was grassy for the first half, it started tunneling at that point and I had to relight it twice. It reeked of spent firecrackers towards the end. Do not buy this crap. I bought the La Aurora Principes for half the cost and ther were ten times better.

Very Enjoyable Cigar

I got a bundle of these cigars in an auction, but I had a bundle of them before(Maduro-Corona, about a year ago). I was really impressed with the first bundle, so I was happy to win the other bundle. Yes, they look "ugly". The wrapper is very rough with noticable veins and as for being maduros, they are not oily at all. My biggest complaint with these cigars is the draw. ANDROS all seem to have medium to tight draws with a few that are almost impossible to draw. As for flavor, they have a nice mild flavor with just a hint of sweetness. The coronas had a "chocolately" flavor but the churchills had an "earthy" flavor. As for construction and burn, it's a nice solid cigar with some uneven burning but nothing to complain about. I like these cigars and would recommend to someone to get a couple of singles or a sampler to give them a try.

Good cigar - I'm quite impressed!

I got an Andros cigar in a sampler from Famous and I really enjoyed the smoke! It burned and drew well and left a great aftertaste. These are well worth their meager price - a darn good cigar.

Great Everyday Maduro

These are great maduros that are tasty without overpowering you. The wrappers usually have some minor defects but so what? At these prices this is a keeper.

The Old days

2 years ago I wrote a good report on this cigar. They were great. The best buy for a golfer. Put them down- never went out. MY LAST BUNCH- They are the worst cigar I have ever had- My crap golf Game is better than this stick.

Nothing Special

I did not find this cigar to be as strong as a Maduro should be. It is mild with a sweet taste. The draw is a bit tight and you don't get a lot of smoke. It would be a good cigar for people who don't care for medium to full bodied cigars. I ordered the 5 pack Toro at like 8.95 piggy backed on another order. That's 1.20 a styx. They are worth that and maybe a bit more. It burned well enough but, I had to work a bit to keep it going. Again for a buck and change I cannot complain. If you like a strong Maduro that draws well with a lot of smoke don't buy this cigar. If you like a sweet mild flavor with medium draw and smoke then this is for you. I've smoked one right out of the shipping bag. After the other 4 rest a few weeks in the Humi and if there is any change I'll leave another review.

Taste..burn...very good but the draw is horrible and ruined my experience.

NOT GOOD

These were not good. Will never order these or any bundle because of this. Thank God for the return policy. Antonio & Cleopatra at Walgreens are more of a premieum cigar than any of the 25 I order. I guess you get what you pay for.

This review was written about Andros Lonsdale by Corey of Dallas on April 12, 2004

Poor /Inconsistent

Will not purchase again. 60% of bundle had poor draw, inconsistent construction. Experienced constant tunneling and canoeing. Although it was not a bad tasting cigar by any means (when you could get it to smoke)I will not purchase again

Not enuff smoke!!

Ordered a bundle back in November, smoked a couple when my order came and just smoked a few last week after laying them down the past 3 months. Nothing special about these stogies, taste and burn are ok, the wrappers are really rough looking, smoke volume isn't what i expect from a churchill cigar. I reckon the Flow de Oliva are much better value for your money

A great value

So, I've finished my bundle of coronas and have to say that I am very, very pleased with this cigar. My earlier review in April stands. Great flavor, good draw and burn, decent construction even with the "rough" look but when you factor in everything together, it's hard to beat this cigar. Everyone I've let try these cigars have loved them, telling me it was much smoother and milder than they expected. If you're looking for a great every day cigar that doesn't hurt the wallet, this one's definitely to be considered.

This review was written about Andros Corona by E.C. of Virginia on January 7, 2004

Great everyday

I ordered the Corona for an everyday cigar. The even burn was amazing. I didn't worry about rotating it at all and it burned perfectly. It had an easy draw. It is definitely a little more rustic looking, as advertised, and a little soft when squeezed. It seemed to generate a bit more smoke than I am used to (which is fine by me). The taste is medium and quite enjoyable. For a $1 cigar it was great. Better than many premiums I've purchased.

Very Good Cigar

This is a great tasting cigar. The affordable price is just icing on the cake. I tasted the Robusto in the shop and immediately bought a bundle of the Lonsdales. I love the earthy taste that also gives a slight sweetness after the first inch or so. I took my time with this one and it smoked for almost 2hrs. If the rest of the bundle is consistent I'll be restocking. When time permits I'll be smoking this in the morning. It was a nice mate to my Hawaiian blend coffee.

Great mild, smooth smoke!

This is an excellent smoke. If you enjoy the A. Fuente Curly Head Deluxe, you will like this cigar. Good novice smoke or morning smoke for the pros.

Very good for the price

I'm on my fourth bundle and haven't had a bad smoke yet. Good even burn with a nice spice aftertaste. Not bad right out of the bundle but let them sit in your humidor for a few weeks and they are even better. It's no Macanudo but then you won't find a Mac at this price.

I've found better for the price...

My co-worker and I decided to purchase a bundle of the Andros Coronas after another co-worker recommended them. I tried one that was given to me and it "wasn't too bad." I figured the price was right so let's go for it. I got the cigars and tried another one...it too "wasn't too bad." After about the 3rd or 4th one I knew I didn't make the wisest decision on this particular purchase. Here are the details: -The burn is excellent...one of the best I've seen, better than Romeo Y Julieta even. These things burn evenly right down to the end. -The draw is completely acceptable...not too tight and not too loose. -The look of the cigar is not too great...though I like the color, the wrapper is very rough and appears "cheap." -The aroma is not foul, but nothing special either. -Taste: this is what was the deciding factor in not making a future purchase. The cigar was not smooth and had a very apparent ashy taste. No points here!...Put it this way...I've found better.

Excellent cigar

Just got a bundle of thes cigars and they are outstanding. Great construction, easy draw, great taste and consistent quality. Better than many cigars at twice the price and up. This cigar is a superb value at the price.

One Bad Apple

I was searching for a good value in a daily Maduro smoke, and happened upon the Andros section of FSS. After reading the rave reviews comparing these sticks to smokes of twice the price, I decided to buy some Lonsdales. Unfortunately, my experinece was not the same as others. The first one I lit was almost impossible to draw, but what I could taste of it was quite good, just very thin due to the nearly impossible draw. I rolled the cigar between my fingers end to end, and felt what seemed like a wooden plug at one point. I proceeded to check the others, and about 1/3 were anywhere from soft to wooden at different points along the length. Most were inconsistant. I cut a few and drew them, and they were extremely inconsistant. I contemplated being one of the few stated to return this bundle, but it tasted so good that I decided to keep them anyway. I figured that maybe a larger ring would be less likely to plug, so I ordered some Churchills. Time will tell. I certainly hope I will share the experineces of others here in the future.

So far so good...

Went ahead and bought a bundle after reading the reviews. For the price, I didn't see much risk. They've been sitting in my humidor for about a month now and I've only had two so far--have to say, so far so good. I've had much more expensive ones that I think this budget cigar puts to shame. Draw was decent and fairly easy, ash is medium grey and pretty solid with some flakyness, burn has been even--so far, and the taste has been pretty good--medium bodied, slightly leathery in flavor, hints of coffee and bitter chocolate, a bit of spice, but pretty smooth throughout. I do have to downgrade on appearance though, as they do look a bit rough. Otherwise, for the price, a great cigar!

A Real Surprise

Andros Coronas are an unexpected pleasure. Right out of the bundle they are good but age them for a couple of months in your humidor and they become little jewels. Some of my friends, when over for drinks, will choose the Andros over my Hoyas (ok by me y'know?). At the price, these cigars are a bargain. Don't pass them up. You will not regret it.

I don't hate them

I tried the Andros lonsdale and the Andros Churchill and I don't hate them. I have never had much luck trying bundles untill now. After reading the reviews, I was curious, so when they went on sale I purchased two bundles of churchills and one bundle of the lonsdales. I figgured that it was right before Christmas, and if they weren't as good as everyone said, I would give them to my buddies that think White Owls and Swisher-sweets are a good cigar, as a gift. I only gave away the Lonsdales; I kept the Churchills for myself. ( I did give a few away to special friends) Everyone loved them! I usually smoke Partagas, and Fuentes, but the wind kills them when I am outside, so Andros is now my "outside" cigar. I bought another 50 cigar humidor just for my Andros Churchills.

Great Smoke At A Great Price!

I've been a cigar smoker for a short time. However, I have tried a variety of cigars and created a catelog of them all. I found that my favorite is the Ashton Aged Maduro. So I desparately needed to find an "everyday" stick. I read the reviews of the Andros Maduro; ordered a bundle and held my breath. I was pleasantly suprised. The order was received in a timely fashion and arrived in perfect condition. I'm currently enjoying a stick as I write this review. I have an Andros Maduro each night with a Maker's Mark Bourbon on ice. Keep the quality and price at this level and I'm a customer for life!!

A delightful smoke for the money!

Just moving east from Illinois I was in a turmoil to locate a good source for my everyday Churchill Maduro. Lucky for me I heard your ad. on THE HAWK 99.9, and was pointed to this website and cigar nirvana! Just smoked my first Andros, and have to agree, it is a great everday smoke for the money! The burn was consistent from start to finish, and the draw and flavor rival anything else I have smoked in a similar price range! Look forward to doing business with you folks for a long time, keep up the good work!

The best I have ever herfed

The best cigar on the market, surpasses even the dunhill diamante aged! i tried a lot of other brands but none compare in price, aroma, flavor and taste. had a few early in the year when co workers got them. then i bought some for myself and gave some to my dad, now he wants only the toros! even my mom, who hates cigars!, likes the after aroma...thats an endorsement in itself! smoke one of these cigars and then 2 hours later have a beer, the flavor re surfaces in the mouth just as if you were smoking it again. the draw, burn, ash, taste, aroma and wrap make this toro a major keeper in any officianados humidor!

One Great Herf!

Took me a while to get on the Andros bandwagon after a friend swore by them. Consistancy is king with me, but these are consistant with regard to every basic cigar quality (appearance, draw, feel, burn, flavor). As Tom says, "they're not just a great $2 cigar, they're a GREAT cigar PERIOD!" These are a no-brainer, if you like great maduro taste... enjoy.
