Ashton Cigars

Great Mild Cigar, perfect with a good red wine!

Great Mild Cigar, perfect with a good red wine or tawny port. Doesn't overpower the pallet, good before or after dinner.

This review was written about Ashton Double Magnum by Bill of Oregon on September 11, 2008

Where's the flavor?

This is one ugly little cigar. veiny, creases, splotchy and what looks like ink on some of them. Zero complexity. May have tasted some hints of leather around the middle of the burn, but that's it.

All Time Favorite

This has become one of my favorite cigars of all time and I now have several friends hooked on them. What a great cigar, the aroma was very plesant and they burn evenly no matter what. The ash is white throughout the smoke and burns evenly. To me there is a smooth nutty after taste that lingers for about 45 minutes. That makes this a great cigar for after dinner desert or a great smoke with friends who enjoy a good cigar.

Top notch, one of the best, this cigar has it all!

Top quality, superb taste. One of the very best cigars I've ever smoked. Almost as good as a Cuban Montecristo. No disappointments here.

Excellent Mild Cigar

Excellent mild cigar. Nice creamy overtone throughout the entire smoke. I always seem to come back to the Ashton Classic. Always enjoyable, and always a high quality smoke. Consistent burn, great construction and a complete joy.

just incredible...

Love the size...ultra smooth and tasty...big $ for a small stick but worth it.

N-I-C-E!

Best mild cigar I have ever smoked!I was a Montecristo White label guy. But I have switched. I have had all the ashton classic cigars and they are all good but the cedar wrap on the double magnum makes the difference. oh my god. I tell my wife to leave me alone for 120 min when I light this cigar

A great mild cigar

As mild cigars go, this one is great. For novice or the seasoned smoker looking for a change you cannot beat the Ashton. This cigar delivers a smooth, creamy flavor with aroma that is delightful. This cigar has great construction and burn, and an overall enjoyable smoke. The price may be high, but if feel it is worth it for a nice relaxing smoke.

Am I missing something.?

Am I missing something? I must have had a bad tin. Mine fell apart, were bitter and rated right up there with the moldy old White Owl I found in my grandfathers tool box that I smoked when I was 12. I haven't been that impressed with the Ashtons.

Nothing to write home about-might improve with age

At this price-level, and from the other reviews, I guess I had high expectations. Sure the floral flavor and peppery finish were good, and the construction outstanding. I found the smoke harsh, at times, and I could list several, possibly less expensive cigars, in a similar category, that I would prefer: Macanudo for one--even Partagas.

Outstanding smoke

GREAT smoke!! I smoked this one all the way down to the band. Can't say enough about this one.

True Love

This cigar is deinitely in my top 5 and it will always have a place in the humidor. Such a pleasant smoke..always consistent. In my opinion the Classic beats the Cabinet Series hands down. Just an all around great cigar. As they say in New York..."It's a beautiful thing"!

A nice coffee break smoke

I was really impressed with these little ones. They pack more flavor then what I have experienced with mini cigars. I found these have been great for my mid-morning coffee break on those special days. Just enough to enjoy, but short enough to get back to work in time.

This review was written about Ashton Esquire (10) by Eric D. of Maryland on August 17, 2006

Top Notch

The Churchill is just an EXCELLENT cigar. I plan on keeping at least a 5 pack of these in my humidor all the time. Excellent burn, flavor, appearance, and draw. I like a mild cigar and this one hits the spot. I would not hesitate to purchase ANY Ashton cigar based on my experience with the Churchill.

My favorite

The Ashton Corona is officially my favorite and regular cigar. It is an easy and enjoyable smoke that doesn't require a serious time commitment. Everyone should have a box in their humidor for themselves and guests.

This review was written about Ashton Corona (5) by Paul of Rochester, NY on May 16, 2006

Less than hoped for

This is a big cigar, a real churchill. The wrapper is slightly nobby, but pale coffee crème colored natural. There's only a very mild pre-light aroma. Construction seems firm, cap nearly perfect, easy to V-notch. Cigar lights easily and evenly. The first aroma is complex and smooth, sandy rather than earthy, somewhat creamy. The first inch is nice, but the cigar does not increase in complexity. The first two sticks from the box burn unevenly, canoeing to one side. Is this really AF construction or is it a counterfeit? Box, liner and insert were identical to others. It's a comp from a casino and you'd think they were careful about provenance! Smoked five inches and quit on the first two. It's not as good as an Ashton panatela! How can that be?

Just finished it....Just fantastic

Great draw, great smoke, very well constructed. Im new to cigars but now I know what I like...

Esquire Maduro is so good with your morning coffee

This is the best 20 min cigar you can smoke with your coffee in the morning. I have one every workday morning. The esquire maduro is very tasty and sweet. I have never smoked one that tasted much different than another, so it is very consistent. They tend to canoe from time to time, but be patient, they usually fix themselves without any lighter work. At first, this cigar looks like it hasn't been constructed well. It has a rugged appearance, but don't be fooled, I've never had one fall apart. (And I've smoked probably 150 of them) I highly recomend the Ashton Esquire Maduro to any Maduro lover. If you've only got 20-30 mins, it doesn't get much better than this.

exquisite

This is the best panatela I have ever smoked. It's beautiful, the burn is perfect from start to finish, the construction is excellent and the draw is easy despite the length. The flavor is mild w/ a faint spicy touch, the aroma is classic natural wrapper. I smoke them to the stump (have to slide down the ring.) I took one apart and I swear that the filler is rolled rather than accordion pleated. There's a perfect concentric path. Anyway, I'm delighted and smoke them whenever I don't have quite as much time.

My favorite smoke

The ashton corona is my all time favorite. Just the right size for an anytime smoke. Don't always have 2 1/2 hrs to smoke a churchill. This smoke always burns well and the draw is perfect.

Mild, consistent, delicious!

The are great, consistent, mild cigars. Bought some crytals (tube) and can't wait to try those too. A very nice mild, easy smoking cigar for any occassion.

You Can't Go Wrong With An Ashton

One of my top 10 cigars!!! Each one is as consistent as the last and the next. An easy and mild draw. I can finish one and light up another.

Absolutely the best cigar for the money

My wife bought me a case for Christmas so I smoked one on Christmas Day. What a pleasant surprise and a great gift. The burn was even, the ash consistent, and the taste was a very smooth nutty taste that lingered. This is now my favorite ciger. I enjoy it more then a Fuente Fuente Opus X, more then a Nat Sherman!

Have to Get More !

Got one as a gift, couldn't of been more pleased. The even burn, beautiful ash, and a flavor that just wouldn't quit. I have to stock up! As this is a wonderful cigar!

Awesome!

I must say, this is one of the best cigars I've ever smoked. Smooth draw, mild, but full flavor, and a nice finish with a nutty undertone. I love it!

High Quality Smoke

What you should expect from an Ashton Magnum is high quality construction, excellent draw, and a smooth and seet flavor. This cigar is consistently in the 90's

THE BEST!!!

The best cigar I have ever smoked...period!!!!! Just wish they were cheaper.

This review was written about Ashton 8-9-8 by Pat of Davidsonville,Md on October 10, 2003

Best of the Best

I have to agree with the other reviewers. This is the finest cigar ever made, and I have tried them all (Dunhill, Montecristo, Cohiba etc...) I actually stumbled upon this cigar when I was placing an order to restock my Hummidor. I have since stocked my Hummidor with nothing else. If you like a smooth tasting cigar this is the best of the best.

I have had 3 of these babies and what a pleasure ! Each 1 had little drops of oil on them when i pulled them from the tube, PROPERLY AGED, FANTASTIC. A drop of added flavor each time the flame reached one. At $10. i cant afford them all day but wish i could. A REAL TREAT !

Great Smooth Smokes!

Very flavorful, great construction and burns very evenly through out. Wish I could smoke 'em every day. One of the very best cigars that I have every smoked. Heck, on my birthday, I smoked $30 worth of these (3!) and it was worth every penny of it! I highly recommend it for the cigar afficianado who hasn't yet tried these!

8-9-8 Smooth,

In a sentence, the 8-9-8 is the perfect cigar. Smooth draw with a mild taste that is enjoyed hours after the cigar is done. In the den or at the Ol' school tailgate, you won't go wrong with an 8-9-8.

This review was written about Ashton 8-9-8 by John Meeks of Ashburn, Va. on November 18, 2000

A great looking and tasting cigar!

I really enjoy the Ashton Churchill. The price is a bit steep so it is one cigar that I save for special times. Mild to medium body, lots of flavor, very satisfying and a long finish. The wrapper is silky and makes for a beautiful smoke.

Mild and yet flavorfull consistent cigar.

A very smooth, mild and yet very flavorfull smoke. Superior construction and appearance. If you like Macanudos, try one of these and compare, this has more flavor, yet is as mild and pleasing to the palate.
