Avo Cigars

Not worth the money

I heard alot of great reviews about this cigar...It was just an everyday average cigar...I thank god i didnot just go off reviews and buy a box of these cigars....They are not worth the over 8 bucks a stick price...Their are cigars on the market that are way better...Not real happy with this cigar...

very impressed

I found one that I had lost a couple years ago and decided to try it out,it was pretty good considering it had been out of the humidor for 2 and a half years!It burned evenly without shedding,taste was diminshed but still pretty good

CREAMY

This cigar was rated 88 by "Cigar Aficianado" in Februrary 2005. It has a creamy Connecticut Shade wrapper with thin veins, with Dominican fillers and binder. Well-constructed with an easy draw, it maintains consistent sweet wood flavors that stay on the palate long after the smoke. Mild and enjoyable; a comfort cigar.

IF YOU LIKE A PLUGGED CIGAR---- BAD DRAW

First couple cigars great then last 5 have been plugged and cannot draw. Have to use a wooden bbq stick so I can smoke them. For what I paid it was a bad purchase. Will be glad when I have smoked all of them.

Excellent Cigar for both beginners and veterans

This is a great cigar for any beginner! Lots of thick, creamy and rich smoke, with a smooth and mild blend and finish down to the nub. One of my favorites and I always keep a box of them in my humidor. Mild enough to make a great breakfast cigar, yet enough flavor for the golf course. I highly recommend them.

Oh no, another great cigar to add to my list!

My tobacconist pointed this one out to me right before I was about to leave- I waited, waited, oh what the heck...ahhh money well spent. Everything from the start to finish was enjoyable. It was mild enough to be "mild" but enough flavor to satisfy. Even burn, white long ash, and smooth cool smoke. So how much is a box of these, I know what I want for christmas! :-)

A perfect cigar!!!

One very short phrase says all about the AVO Classic #5.......A perfect cigar!!! A little expensive for an everyday cigar, however having a box or two in my humidor sure makes it difficult to pass one by.

Easy Smoke, Smooth to the end

Even burn, light grey/white ash to 2" until dropping off. Smooth initial smoke with a warm aroma, merging into a modest earthy flavor with hints of caramel on the end of the palatte. A great smoke, was relatively quick, but very relaxing.

Dated a Model

I had seen this girl on the cover of a Glamour magazine, so imagine my joy at meeting her at Starbucks. Her perfect skin was wonderful to the touch and we had several dates. She was a good kisser and smelled good too. Eventually we just stopped calling each other. I don't think about her much. The relationship just ended. It was cool to date a professional model!

Smooth, good everyday smoke!

I recieved this cigar as a part of a sampler, it was one of the best medium cigars I've had in a long time. It burned very well and held a very long ash. This is a very well made smoke.

AVO #2

Smoooooth ~ Just flat tastes expensive!

The Avo #2 is absolutely one of my favorites! When I'd dream of what a perfect cigar should taste like, this is it. Very, very smooth with great body, but never harsh or a bite. Great looks, smoke, aroma, burn, draw (1 of them was a tiny bit tight) and especially the taste! I've probably sampled 30 different brands of mostly high end pedigree and Avo is defintely in the top 2-3. I've never had the opportunity to try a Davidoff, but this is what I'd imagine they'd taste like. You won't regret a purchase of these.

Hands Down BAR NONE One of My Favorites

OK well... HMMM I have smoked pretty much every big name cigar there is, and I have had some damn good smokes, I used to Buy Leon Jimenes Smokes by the box, then moved over to Macanudos, and Cohiba Red Dots, but the ones that have always been my favorite smoke is the AVO#2 and the AVO Robusto's.. and I usually keep several top label cigars in my Humidors and there is always AVO Cigars right next to the Aurtoro Fuente and Cohiba, and Macanudo cigars, the price is actually very good compared to some of the others that have far less taste and character, so with all that said I just have to tell you if you try only one cigar in your life, you would be well suited to make it an AVO

A incredibly nice smoke

This is a very nice cigar. Well constructed, excellent draw, tons of rich smoke. The flavor builds as you smoke the cigar, from fairly mild to an incredible medium to medium full towards the end. As advertised, there is an underlying sweetness to the smoke. It's a shame these are limited edition cigars!

So that's what they mean by "Creamy Draw"

Just had my first AVO on the way in to work. I'm not reluctant to write negative things about cigars, but I have nothing negative to say about this little gem. The AVO Robusto is the first thing in my life that I can honestly rate as a perfect 10. The flavor was creamy, smoothe, and consistent throughout the body of the cigar. I'll note here that I've never actually tasted "creaminess" in a cigars draw, even in those cigars whose description advertises a "creamy draw." Right now my mouth feels smooth as silk, and I am more relaxed than I've been in a long time. My sampler searches have finally come to an end. The AVO robusto is far better than bad sex, and ranks very close to good sex in terms of enjoyment. My new favorite. I don't believe I'll ever be able to smoke another brand of cigar without feeling a little let down. Lord knows none of the hundreds that I've smoked compare to this.

A Rewarding Second Glance

When I took the first few draws off of the AVO, I had the dreadful feeling that I had found yet another overrated cigar... it tasted a bit dirty and bitter. However, I think that I just got a bad one. For as the burn continued, this baby came alive! GREAT taste and rich flavor. Luckily, I had another in my humidor so that I could check the consistancy, and it was great from start to finish. This is a must try and will definitely be an occasional smoke for me.

EXCELLENT CIGAR FOR THE MONEY!

This is an excellent cigar. I have smoked AVO cigars for many years. The AVO signature is one of my favorites until the Legacy came along.The CD included is actually very nice easy listening music from someone who has a passion for his music.

A quality smoke to be sure!

After smoking many different cigars over the years, I settled in on Don Thomas brand for the last 16 months. Then I bought a sampler pack of robustos - half way thru the AVO robusto I knew I was hooked. Clean burn, great aroma, not to heavy (medium bodied smoke) and smokes great all the way to the band. I'm now enjoying my first box..

Excellent cigars

The first "real" cigar I ever smoked was an Avo classic and I fell in love with it. I have since tried alot of other brands and I like many of those too but I now have a seperate humidor filled to the brim with Avos ( from the maduros to the legacy's ) I'm sure not everyone likes them but I absolutely love Avo cigars, the signatures and the domaines are probably my favorites. The robusto assortment with the ashtray is a real bargain at 30 bucks, needless to say I now have several of the ashtrays. Try one today!

The Avo 77's were the most satisfying cigar I ever smoked! Not cheap, priceless! HBD to the king may he live for many more! I'll stock up on the Legacy for sure.

Good Flavor and Great Draw.... Construction is ok

This is a great smoke for the price... Very mild with good flavor and very good aroma... Plumes of rich smoke flow out... However the construction is a 7/10 as the cigar seems to need to be wrapped tighter.. Draw is excellent.

Better that Padron Annv

When I want a great cigar I used to always turn to Padron Annv. Now I will turn to the AVO 77 while I can get them by far the best cigar I have every smoked.

What a smoke!

What a fantastic smoke! I began smoking stoogies with AVO and I occasionally veer to other premiums. Everytime I buy a box of AVO cigars I wonder what I was thinking when I ordered something different. The pyramides are the ultimate AVO, great burn, taste and construction. These are my absolute favorite smokes!

Great Smoke!!!

A great cigar!! I am an AVO signature fan and the 77 is a step up. I look forward to a great summer filled with "77" weekends. This smoke has a perfect draw and full bodied flavor that makes it worth every penny. I missed out on the 22's but the 77's made up for it.

Wonderful

Wonderful cigar, I smoked my first one last week while playing golf at Spanish Bay in Pebble Beach, CA. The cigar was 10 times better than my golf. It was 10 strokes under Par. I normally smoke Macanudo's 1997 and 1993's. This cigar was as good or better.

Buy this cigar, especially when on sale...

I have known the AVO brand for some time, but when I saw the sale I jumped on a box for myself. No let down there. These cigars are a great mild/medium blend, no bitter bite to them, smoke evenly, and are easy to carry around. I made the mistake of bringing some while golfing. My friends insisted that I share. Good thing they are friends, and that they appreciated the expensive treats they enjoyed. You are not risking a thing by buying this cigar. Enjoy.

A NICE CIGAR

I have only had 1 of these and found a nice wrapper (although a bit tender),creamy,with a hint of pepper and mint (i know, mint? ).A grey even burning ash, a bit loose, easy draw.Construction was a bit loose. An ok cigar, but at $8.00 i want an Ashton.

A Great Mild Cigar with no Bite!

I have smoked this cigar for several years. I have been living in South America for the past four years and have enjoyed several good Cuban cigars on a routine basis. However, when I want a good mild cigar that is easy to smoke, I alway reach for the Avo #5. Box after box it is extremely dependable to be the same quality of smoke - mild, no bite and a good white ash.

Awesome Everday Cigar

Always fresh, very nice cigar. I always keeps some in my humidor for when I want no suprises. Wrapper is always perfect, ash is white, and it brings a tangy, spicy flavor . This is a cigar that you can count on!
