From the first puff...it's way too harsh

Bad after taste & harshness is what comes to mind when I think of this cigar. With liking the quite a few of the other CAO's (Criollo, Bazilia, Maduro, Mx2 & Gold), I was surprised this wasn't one of them.

my first and last cao camaroon

Im not sure what the deal was, but i did not enjoy this smoke. I was expecting a smooth creamy smoke, but it came out harsh, very peppery, and spicy. That might fit ones fancy, but not mine.

Awesome, Very Smooth and leaves your mouth

Great cigar. The drag and construction is very good, burn is ok. The taste is very good, smooth but not spicy enough. Overall i'll give it a 9/10.

Smooth & Medium

I'm in full agreement with Bob Dibble's review. Nothing outstanding, but it is smooth, relaxing and has a inviting flavor that won't put anyone off. Perhaps it serves as a nice break from the bold/fuller sticks that I usually smoke. I will keep a few in my humidor for future use.

Quite Frankly I'm Shocked

Having spent the better part of the last three trying just about every cigar I could get my hands on, I found the CAO brand the most consistent, even burning and flavorful cigars available. From the Cameroon, to the CX2, Brasilia, Criollo and the others, CAO maintains a level of quality not found in other brands. My kudos to CAO and keep up the good work.

March 2005 Lot Phenomenal

I just opened a box of 20 I purchased in March 2005 and they are phenomenal. Had I known then what I know now, I would have stock piled a few more (and I probably wouldn't have handed them out so freely last night at a dinner party).

Once is enough

This is the least plesant CAO cigar I have smoked.
Looks great and ends there. The draw is awful, it constantly flakes and the burn is very bad. I cant find the flavor!

One of my favorites

Right off the bat the draw of this cigar grabbed my attention. Smooth, effortless, and lots of flavor. Burned smooth all the way, slowly changed character, for the better, right to the itty bitty nub. After smoking thousands of cigars I still don't know much about tastes of cedar, wood, leather, nuts, pepper, etc. but I know what I like, and this rates right up at the top. Price is right too.

Waste of money

Like trying to suck smoke thru at rock. And the little smoke I could get was nothing to brag about. If going to a BBQ better bring another smoke with you, cause this one will go in the trash.

Not amazingly flavorful but still great!

Excellent cigar. A little less flavorful than I was expecting but very enjoyable. I'd rate it more of a medium-mild rather than straight medium. I will be buying these again!

CAO is #1

This is far and away my all time favorite smoke. I discovered this stick shortly after its release while I was in Las Vegas on business. I have been a loyal fan ever since. The benchmark that others try to reach, but come up short !!

Absolutely stunning Flavor

Smoked 3 now. The myriad of flavors in this cigar is easily distinguishable but match very well like cookies and milk. You will definitely taste the chocolaty undertones and toasty flavors no matter how unrefined your palate is. I imagine myself working in a Bakery in the 20's and am taking a break to have a puff and am inhaling the bakery air. Yes, it is that flavorful! I love these cigars but consistency appears to be an issue. I Purchased 3 Robustos from 3 different shops (All 3 reputable and well kept Humidors). First 2 were absolutely fantastic. Great end to end smoke, and consistent flavor all the way down. Construction was a bit shoddy on all 3, as the wrapper started to flake mid-smoke (maybe I'm just a bit rough on them?). The 3rd tasting (actually bought a box of 20 this time) though pleasant, was not nearly as flavorful as the prior two. It was almost as if I was smoking a completely different cigar! I am going to try out another this weeked and I'll repost if it was a fluke or my palate was off.

bring a backup

i dont know what those other guys are smoking but this cameroon sucks!! I usually dont give my opinion or reviews on stogies but this one really pissed me off. Draw was tight, very little flavor for a cameroon; and the ash fell on my lap every half inch. got these on the auction site; and i only bid on them because of the other reviews. Some clown thinks that they are better than La Aurora Pref. Thanks for nothing. oh well next time i'll bring a back up smoke. one i can rely on like ashton, partagas, or yes La Aurora

#1 in every way

I'll keep this one short - when I think of a premium cigar, I think of the CAO Cameroon Toro. Looks great, built great, and tastes great, all with a semi-reasonable price. When considering the total package, very few cigars are on par with this one. Nuff said.

Superb Quality

The CAO Cameroon Robusto is fine example of above-average all-around quality. An almost perfect burn and good draw compliment the taste which starts out as cedary with a touch of pepper and then opens up into a dark roast coffee and nutmeg. There is an undercurrent of leather and chocolate throughout. While I have enjoyed most of CAO lines, the Cameroon, in my opinion, is by far the best they have to offer with the robusto and toro sizes really standing out.

Smooth but lacking in complex, full flavor

As promised, this cigar starts and finishes smoothly. It builds in flavor, but lacks the richness and complexity I would expect in this premium stick. Not at all bad with a cup of good Mocha Java!

Great Taste, tight draw

A rich, smooth, full flavor that ranks up there with the best, but the draw seems consistently tight. I suspect the box press shape accounts for that, and I note some other reviewers commented on it as well. That is a definite "draw-back" (sorry), but the rich flavor makes up for it. Let them age in your humidor and they loosen up a bit if the tight draw bothers you.

Rich,Smooth, and Relaxing

What a fine cigar! This baby is truly a premium puro, right along with cigars of twice the price. Nuts, aged cedar and somewhere in there, I detect a mild caramel flavor. Light one up, kick back with your favorite drink and get ready to relax. I now have these in my humidor on a permenent basis. Hats off to CAO.

A Very Rich Cigar

Because they may be too snug as a box-pressed, I have found they burn better if allowed to loosen up from outside the box. The draw and burn is perfect. It has a very rich, thick smoke and a short, dry finish - not a negative. It's like a dry wine with a character all its own. It gains momentum along the way and becomes quite full bodied by the end. It's very complex. Definitely a super premium cigar and one to keep around for special occasions. Available and at a good price too. Can't wait to try a CAO Extreme.

YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR

I have had this in my "select" humidor for 2 months and finally fired it up. A nice looking, smooth, cigar with a flakey ash, easy draw, and starts mild building all the way to full bodied. A bit dry with a taste of cedar and some coffee. A rather short finish for such a full flavored cigar. At $7.50 i think i can do better with an Ashton VSG. I dont mind a box press BUT this is a full trunk press making it flat. Dont care for that.

Quickly became one of my favorites

CAO has done an excellent job with this cigar. It has a very solid construction, and the Cameroon wrapper makes a fantastic companion with the Nicaraguan filler. Ordinarily, I shy away from Cameroon, but I was pleasantly surprised when I had this one. Smooth from start to finish, with a very easy draw. And the bouquet... wonderful. The only thing I didn't like was that it didn't burn as evenly as I'd hoped. (But, that could be due to my poor cigar lighting skills). And the ash was a little flaky. Still, minor details considering all this cigar has going for it. It definitely ranks as one of my personal favorites.

CAO has a customer for life.

I bought an autographed box of Robusto's at the Big Smoke in New Orleans from the CAO booth and got to meet the Ozgener family. Mr. Ozgener's daughter is a sweetie by the way. I promptly lit one up and smoked it to my finger tips. This is an awesome cigar and a must have in your humidor. The box press provides an excellent draw and the flavors are to die for.

One of few great cigars

Describing cigar taste in terms of sipping a wine or eating a food does injustice to a great cigar. Describing it in such a way is good to sell a magazine. This cigar should be smoked after a delightful dinner or on special occasions. It is that great. It is smooth, tasty and a great experience as well as enjoyment.
