Great yard 'gar...

I had one of these sitting in the humi for about 6 months and expected a lot more. Pretty bland when it comes to flavor, nothing special. The construction is very well. I smoked this while cutting the grass, and believe it or not, as bumpy as it was, the ash stayed on the tip for an inch or more until I tapped it off. No real complaints from me on this one except I that I expected flavor/aroma from a CAO. Good cigar - but don't expect much more.

I hate everything about this cigar. There are much better mild cigars, like Oliva Serie G.

No Thanks

I just finished lighting up and could not finish this cigar. I thought it tasted terrible! The smell was awful as well. My wife usually can handle the smell of my cigars. She almost lost her dinner over this one. I will not purchase any more of them in the future. I'm glad I only bought one tin. No thanks, you can keep them.

Excellent

Best draw and burn of cigars I've tried lately. A little too mild for me, but not that bad either. Burns even and construction is very good.

Ultra Smooth...

A very well constructed cigar. The cigar is not hard at all, in fact I have yet to find a hard spot on one yet. I would consider this a mild cigar without any bite. It is sweet/creamy with a very pleasing aroma. One of my go to cigars when I don't know exactly what I want to smoke. I can't get enough... A must try.

Another excellent cigar from cao

If you like mild cigars these folks make the very best. This one is a great smoke, good flavor, good draw, and great aroma. This is a good 30 minutes cigar. If you want a longer smoke try the double gold corona.

CAO Gold Torpedo scores a hit

Got my order today. Fired up the CAO Torpedo first.
Initially a papery dry light up, lots of volume, great draw.
After about 5 minutes the smoke became increasingly pleasant.
Very creamy subtle flavors a true fogbank of smoke. Down to the nubbin's good smooth tasty torpedo.
CAO Torpedo scores a direct hit!

You can't beat this for a mild

I will buy these in 5 packs to avoid excess smoking, if I bought a box they would be gone in a week. This is the best mild cigar I have had.

You cant do better for a mild cigar

I will never buy a box of these because i will spend too much time smoking them. The flavor was superb. There was nothing about this cigar that was not top notch. I haven't had any better mild cigar.

Great mild smoke

This is a great mellow smoke. The construction, burn, and draw are excellent. The wrapper is velvety, and the smoke is plentiful with mild/medium strength. I like this for a quiet evening when there's no wind so the smoke can linger. Very nice. The size lasts a long time, and it still ends too soon for me.

Not too Bad

This Cigar is not too bad. Did finish a little "ashy" but most cigars leave me that way. Burned well, actually really well, not many that I had to relight. However I did find myself starting but not finishing quite a few.

Nice mellower, but TASTY smoke!

This is a nice cedary smoke that mellows to a mild vanilla, I usually never smoke milder cigars as that I am a fan of very BIG BOLD maduros that make you see stars, but I liked this cigar ALOT! So much that I bought a box. Great all round cigar, meaning for seasoned smokers that want a mellower smoke for a change or for a beginner.
Milder but tasty!

The Midas touch

Yes- yet another quallity CAO puro holding a large inventory in my humidor. This is a cigar that I present to the people I respect. The Gold line is smooth smoking and incredibily well made. Mild bodied, but possesing a invitingly rich flavour that any cigar fancier can savour anytime of day.

Great breakfast cigar

CAO you've done it again!! The first thing you notice about the CAO line is the construction. The burn is consistant throuought and the draw is perfect due to that fact. This particular cigar has notes of cedar and a faint vanilla smell. Great cigar for newbies or for that first gar of the day.

Good, not great!

I just finished a tin of 5 of the Karats and found that while exceptonally mild to my taste they lacked any significant flavor. The appearance, construction, draw and burn are all excellent, however I think the Criollo in the same size is a much better choice in terms of flavor.

Disappointment

I love all the other CAO lines however the Gold Robusto was a disappointment. The flavor was very smooth but the draw was so tight I had to toss about half of them. My review is based on two boxes so I know it wasn't a fluke. I'll continue smoking the Brazilias and Criollos but no more Golds for me.

CAO GOLD Torpedo

CAO is a solid cigar. Taste, construction, appearance, aroma, burn, draw. Did I say value! I also received the 5 pack sampler and the Brazilia is amazing! Even the mild to medium guys will love this fog machine. Great taste! What I have found in choosing the CAO line is consistency and value. The company focus is on an affordable up market cigar that is a pleasure everytime you smoke one. I would recommend the Gold to a new or experienced cigar smoker.

CAO Great Smoke

My all time Favorite is the COHIBA Churchill. However the CAO Double Corona,Gold, which is about half the price of the COHIBA is a great smoke. I keep it next to the COHIBA as the two best smokes I've had. On more than one occasion I've received compliments as to the good aroma the CAO gives. Even from non-smokers.The draw is great, an even burn and great taste!

One fine cigar

a couple of weeks ago I sat at the Sbux in Hallandale, sipped an espresso and lit a CAO Gold corona gorda.....excellent construction, and an even better flavour....a cigar to lay back and savour.
But what impressed me was a guy passing by , who suddenly stopped and said: gee, this smells good..... what are you smoking ?

Can I trust my friends???

OK... so I kept hearing from my friends that the CAO was a fine smoke... they kept telling me about ratings, which don't always mean much, and that I NEED to try... so I did... all that I can say is... my friends know what they are talking about! This is a GREAT smoke. Quality and class with a rich, smooth flavor. I recommend this one to all!!!

A Great Cigar

This cigar has a great taste and smell. The one I had was a bit tight with the draw but it may have been just a bad stick. I have smoked the torpedos with no problem and someone gave me this robusto so it may have been stored improperly. CAO GOLDS are top notch! Mild yet flavorable and have a great scent.

Great Cigar at a great price

I bought a CAO Gold while on vacation in San Diego this summer and found it to be a very very flavorfull yet medium to mild smoke. I have since purchased a box of them and they have become my regular favorite. I highly recommend.

Aroma

Purchased a box of coronas about 2 weeks ago. Not a bad smoking cigar but if you run it under your nose before lighting it has the distinct smell of a horse stall.I had my wife smell an Ashton maduro,Than a Rafeal Gonzalez,a Montecristo, a Montecristo Afrique, than the CAO. She couldn't believe how nasty the CAO was.I have since removed them from my humidor so as not to infect the other cigars. They might want to address this issue.

Excellent Smoke !!!

Got this cigar in the Famous XV Sampler. Good construction, even burn, perfect draw. First inch is rather mellow and mild with hint of cream, then burst into life with some medium peppery spice. (excellent) and this continues till the end. Overall an excellent smoke. CAO never disappoints.

Unrefined

I have puchased a single CAO Gold torpedo upon reading many comments that have convinced me. Much to my suprise and frankly, I was disappionted. Though it seemed true, that it is a finely made cigar with a rich, creamy and dankless aftertaste, but i found the draw to be quite... "plugged" and had to make an effort to get a good drag. On top of that, the wrapper started to crumble all at once to where I got flakes on my teeth. Perhaps this one was defected and after all, not all cigars are created equal even when they are from the same box. this one was unrefined.

Very good smoke when time is short

After 5 boxes I have found that this is my favorite every day smoke. Some minor inconsistencies but that is to be expected from a
hand made cigar. I think this will dissipate with the more popular it becomes.

Smooth smoke! A ton of cigar for the money!

This is a well constructed cigar. Produces a very long ash with a smooth draw. A mild/mediun flavor from start to finish. The Gold Robusto is a great buy and very reasonably priced.
