almost a premium

This pyramid shaped cigar begins with a tight draw that is difficult to manage. once it gets rolling into its canoe pattern the taste picks up, the construction isnt in the same hemisphere with a Macaundo and the taste isnt even close to that of a Mac. The shape canoes early in the cigar as well it has a decent smelling aroma with a rather dull taste for a premium cigar as it almost qualifies as a premium, the construction shouldnt rate above a 5 as its gonna canoe early and burn hot. i'd give it a 60 rating on a scale of 100, possibly a 55. im actually surprised its not a bundled cigar.

Not as good as the Famous Honduran 1000 Claro

I used to love the green claro/candela but they are not the same quality now, for some reasom.
The Famous Honduran 1000 claro are nearly as green and have a much better burn and flavour.

Cigar was ok, a bit green tasting. Mellowed out in the middle got a little flavor. Reminded me of a bad Macanudo. I give it a 5.0. It is not my cup oftea. Burn was ok, ash was ok. Bad smelling after done ashcan smell. Not a good house gar.

Certainly not the "Creme of the Crop"

A terrible disappointment. Draw? Can you say 'plugged'? Taste? Can you say 'next to none'? Smoking experience? Can you say 'nightmare'?
Just glad I got this as part of a sampler, and didn't actually go and buy 5, or a box. This is one you'll not find in my humidor again. Matter of fact, it's one you'll not find me touching again. Sucking on a rock ..... is pretty much the extent of it. Trashed it after the first 1/3. That was too late.

all around best

After reading the other reviews I thought I was on another planet. This is probably the best all around smoke I've ever tasted, mild but NOT boring. Great flavor, full and rich for a mild. no bitter after taste. I passed some around the office and got AAA+ reviews from everyone. the guys who wrote those reviews must be on life support or something.

Doesn't Make The Cut for My Humidor

Just got this in my "15 Incredible Cigars" sampler. It's a nice looking cigar and surprisingly burned well, considering other reviews. The aroma was mild but pleasant. However, there wasn't much flavor and a slight sourness on the finish. If you want mild, you are much better off with a Mac or even a Helix.

Pleasant Surprise

Got this as a part of a sampler and left it in the humidor not expecting much. When I finally got around to it I was pleasantly surprised. It burned well with a correct draw but although a bit mild for my tastes it had a nice peppery spice flavor that developed about a third in. May not buy them by the box but won't leave them to last either.

Are You Guys Sure You Smoked Creme de Jamaica?

This came in a sampler called "15 Incredible Cigars." Well that was true for many of them, but not this one. The draw was on the tight side, the smoke did not taste or smell good, and I found it to be a chore to smoke. I did not experience one minute of satisfaction with this stinker and threw it away after 20 minutes. Most of the Famous bundles that I've smoked have been better than this, and for less money, too.

This cigar is a very nice surprise, impeccable construction, even burn, mild flavor, but nice aroma and with subtle overtones. Smooth finish with a mild lingering aroma and aftertaste. Great Mild Cigar!

A very nice cigar for the money. As far as mild cigars go, this one has a dimension of flavor that many lack. Perfect burn, though a little tight on the draw. All in all, perhaps the best mild cigar I've ever tried! Highly recommended.

Decent, but leaves somthing to be desired

Recently bought a five pack on Cigar Auctioneer. I found them to be hard to draw, but otherwise a decent smoke for what was paid. I found the taste to lean toward a creamy coffee, but lacking much in spice. I also found the churchill to be a rather hot burning stick. Not something I would buy again, but I will try the robusto.

zero flavor

I didn't think it was possible to create a cigar that had no flavor, but the robusto I just smoked accomplished it admirably. I like mild and med. cigars, but this thing was like smoking an "ultra light" cigarette.

Best of the Bunch

Got the robusto in the Famous Sampler, and this cigar blew the others away. Just as promised, this is a mild, creamy smoke that I thoroughly enjoyed. Better than the vaunted (and expensive) Cohiba. The light, the burn, and the draw were all perfect. Can't wait to try more of these.

Very mild with subtle hints of spice; never harsh.

I had the robusto yesterday while taking a walk. It was well-packed and firm but the draw was easy and it burned fairly evenly. It smelled nice even before lighting. Once lit it had very subtle hints of flavor. It was very mild and never overpowering. I was able to smoke it down to the band with no problem. I would order it again, although I usually buy cigars that are slightly stronger.

Great cigar for the money!

I bought a box of the Creme de Jamaica Churchill cigars after a friend gave me one to try on a fishing trip. I thought is was a very good smoke and enjoyed it to the end. I have been just as pleased with the box I bought from Famous. I did find that letting these cigars age in the humidor for a month or two improves the taste. Great cigar for the money!

Big in size, but the runt of the litter!

After smoking and enjoying a good many cigars from the Creme De Jamaica stable, my advice is to avoid the Churchill. Despite a pleasant (if unexciting) taste, the uneven burn and lousy draw makes the effort a bit too much after a 9 hour work day. CDJ generally has their act together when it comes to the Robusto or Lonsdale, but the Churchill is only for the masochists among us! Big in size, but small in enjoyment.

great mild taste but terrible draw

Got the Robusto as part of a sampler. Taste was terrific- mild and smooth with a hint of spice. However, the draw was way too tight and the cigar burned unevenly, making it tough to enjoy it. Perhaps I neded to let this one sit in the humidor longer. I'd like to try another to see if the construction issues were a fluke

Ultra mild, smooth, relaxing

I tried this baby with some trepidation, given the somewhat mixed reviews. This one came in a sampler, and I gave it about a month of humidor aging. The result? Very nice flavor, extremely mild, but a need for a second, mild-puff draw to bring forth the smoke. Could be I should have used a bullet-cutter rather than a guillotine. NO real problemo. Had it with a cup of sweet cuban coffee (I've become a minor export in that brew) and the combo was perfection. Only real problem is that my wife is becoming a cigar fan as well, so I have to pay a few puffs as "tax." But, hey: she likes cigars, appreciates and mixes a great cocktail, loves football and leaves the Victoria's Secret catalogue on my desk. I CAN NOT complain.
Bottom line? DO have some in your humidor for when you want a milder smoke, or have beginner friends over as guests. A VERY nice smoke.

Very nice!

Just finished a robusto after dinner that I received in a sampler pack. What a great way to relax after a meal! This cigar was a nice surprise. It looked a bit rough, with the wrapper looking a little wrinkly, but construction was good. Flavor was consistent all the way. I detected hints of cocoa or coffee, and the flavor was very creamy, smooth, and mild. It reminded me of a Macanudo but slightly stronger. Draw was good, if slightly tighter than I prefer. The smoke was relatively thin however, but the cigar burned all the way without any tweaking. The ash held to just about the half way point before falling, and was medium gray in color and solid, very little flaking if any. Overall, a great cigar that I'd definitely try again. But for the one I just had, definitely an 8 out of 10.

In the smaller sizes this cigar is quite tasty with a sort of spicy and creamy combination. However, in the larger ring sizes it seems to lose its distinctiveness and becomes rather more bland. Good smokes, but way too expensive!

I wanted to try these smokes out, and for the price, wasn't too bad. Although, when I saw the prices of 25 of these puppies, I thought, man, what a rip off! The Toro is a good one, good taste through and through. Smokes like a $3 cigar, but for about $8, forget it--I'll smoke 3 cigars for the price of one. The robusto was like acid on the palate', then nice smooth smoker, but, hey, if they were cheaper I'd buy a box or 2. If prices go down, I'll buy, otherwise I'd rather smoke a Consuegra Maduro.
