Nothing to write home about

Great construction, nice draw, excellent in every respect except taste. There is nothing bad with the taste; just seemed exceedingly average to me.

One of the Best

Trying this cigar soon after beginning has spoiled me, now I compare every stick I smoke to them. Most others come a bit short. I have not smoked a better cigar near this price. It has a nice med-full flavor, with hints of coffee and spice. The last 2 inches this cigar finishes nicely, as the spice kicks up a bit. Wonderful paired with a margarita, or just a beer. Great after dinner watching a sunset.

Excellent

This is a fantastic cigar. I have smoked many highly rated cigars, and this one competes with all of them. Great construction, lots of thick smoke, smooth but with lots of flavor and punch. I rate this one up there with the Rocky Patel Decades, the Tatuajes, and the rest.

Most Excellent!!!

Awesome smoke! Nice slow razor sharp burn, aromatic and creamy cocoa flavors from start to finish. All this and a price that's hard to beat. Never disappoints!

Absolute enjoyment!

This cigar is a keeper and an absolute joy. With a nice, slow, even burn and a creamy, aromatic, full-flavored smoke that leaves you "smacking" the palate, this cigar has easily become a personal favorite and is my choice as the perfect companion to a fine cup of coffee. Not a disappointment at all. Bravo, Torano!

Great cigar

Great cigar! No flaws at all. I was impressed by the taste and the draw. Very even burn. I will buy more for the price.

Ending was a big let down

I smoked the first half of this cigar and was very impressed...it was everything I was expecting and more. I did not have enough time to finish the second half so I saved it for later. Later that evening, I was really looking forward to finishing this one, because with most cigars that are my faves (Rocky Patel Vintage '90, for instance) the last 1/3 of the cigar is usually the best and I hate to put it out...but boy, did I get a surprise here! I found the last 1/3 of this to be just awful! Tasted like grass and left a nasty aftertaste...a huge let down!

My new favorite!!

While theres not a whole lot I can say that the other commenters haven't already said, just wanted to say that I loved this one a whole lot- lots of flavor, not harsh at all. I had been looking for an affordable smoke with a fuller flavor like this, and it delivered. Might I add another bargain that I was impressed with recently: the Don Thomas Classico is a $4.00 medium- bodied smoke that blew me away.

Great

If you like the Exodus in the larger form, you'll like this too. You know how sometimes you want a smoke but don't have time for a big one? This is great for that time. Even burn and nice draw.

very good outdoor cigar

I picked up the robusto and put it in my humidor for about 5 days.I took it out on a 95 degree day with too much humidity. so I had to light up inside. I didnt get to appreciate this one to the fullest because it was a regal tasting cigar and every once in a while a hint of cocoa. I usually can't roll too much smoke because of spice but no such thing on this cigar. rolled plenty of smoke out. great smelling smoke to appreciate in the outdoors. very good overall even for beginners and will buy again maybe in 5 pack next time.

NOW THATS WHAT AM TALKING ABOUT!!!!!!

I always seem to get 1,2 or 3 cigars from my selections that just plain piss me off!! However when I got this bundle of 5 I was, simply put, IMPRESSED!! Everyone was great in draw, taste, burn and aroma... Am no expert on cigars, but I know what I like and what I like is what this cigar gave to me... Great job FS... And I feel am close enough to Mr. Torano to say... DAMN GOOD JOB CARLOS... THATS WHAT AM TALKING ABOUT!!!!

Excellent

This is probably one of the best cigars I have smoked. Easy, smooth taste. The smoke lasted over an hour. Very pleasant. Although a larger cigar than most women might try, I would definately recommend it.

PURE HEAVEN

Great burn & medium-full flavor thru-out. Terrific weekend afternoon smoke while watching a game & enjoying a cool beer. This is a must try. Smooth enough for new smokers but yet enough flavor to satisfy someone who prefers fuller bodied sticks.

Pretty nice smoke for the $

Got one of these in a sampler, and I enjoyed looking at it soo much it took me several weeks to finally break down and smoke it. (I'm a sucker for box pressed smokes.) The wrapper looks nice and oily and chocolately. The flavor is square in the medium category and has very light peppery tones. Very short but nice finish.

What a find!

I picked up one of these in a free sampler. Not expecting much, I just shoved it in the humidor and forgot about it. Well, I wanted to make room for the next new box of my favorites and this blew me away. I usually smoke Romeo & Julieta Maduro Reserve or the 1875's, but I think I have a new alternate now.

Very Impressive Cigar

CARLOS TORANOS ARE ONE OF MY FAVORITE BRANDS BUT THIS EXODUS 1959 PERFECTO IS THE BEST OF THE BUNCH. THE BURN AND DRAW ARE AS THEY SHOULD BE BUT THE FLAVOR IS OUTSTANDING AND THE APPEARANCE IS BEAUTIFUL INDEED.

Best of the Toranos

This is my favorite of the Torano line. It starts out with a kick, then settles in to a nice full bodied taste. Construction and burn are excellent.

A disappointing cigar

I am a fan of Carlos Toranos cigars therfore I was disappointed after waiting with much anticipation to try the Exodus 1959 boxed pressed torpedo. While contruction, appearance, draw, ash, and consistency are important, to me taste is of the greatest importance.
After properly toasting the foot of the cigar and then lighting it off I was greeted with a harsh fairly acrid taste. This continued through the first third of the cigar. The remainder of the cigar produced a taste of sharp spice and harsh wood tones leaving a chalky finish on the palate.
I usually smoke the Carlos Torano Reserva Selecta torpedo, in my estimation they are the best of the Carlos Torano line.

best cigar ever! it beats the cubans i've had!!!

Words cannot describe how great this cigar really is! I've smoked many good cigars, including cubans, and this one tops them all!! I love it, and will continue to buy them for YEARS to come!

Very enjoyable

This is a well crafted cigar; nice shiny dark wrapper with excellent appearance. From the first light this is a great experience! Smooth, easy draw with copious amounts of smoke. Nice rich, complex flavor with no burn on the tongue at all. I bought the five pack and was thrilled with each one of them. Very consistant draw and flavor in every one. Had a slight uneven burn in some, but the awesome flavor and rich smoke more than made up for those slight flaws. Highly recommend you at least try a five pack. I'm sure to order more.

Torpedo Magnifico

Smokes like a $10+ cigar, and is worth 3X it's price at Famous Smoke. Rich, tasty, and a perfect smoke for after dinner, afternoon or anytime. Total cigar enjoyment!

I don't recommend these.

There seemed to be a few let downs on this cigar:
1. The burn was crooked most of the time, and believe me, I know how to light my cigars.
2. The draw was a bit tight.
3. The ash was loose and crumbly, has a dark grey color.
4. The price is not worth it.
If there is anything good about the cigar, it just looks attractive. There are other cigars that have the same taste and color wrapper for much less or equivalent to this price. For those who don't know, I strongly recommend Punch Rare Corojo.

That's what I'm talking about.......

OOOOHHHH YEAH!!!! The flavor, the aroma, the burn, the band and box pressed to boot. Simply an A+.

A Must Try!!!!!

Got a 5/pack of these the other day,ate a sandwich
palying pool with my daughter, sipping Crown Royal & Coke and my stogy, you owe it to your self to try one...........

Terrific...

I really enjoy the the Torano family of cigars, and the Exodus 1959 is my main smoke. This robusto, I think, is only bettered by the torpedo, being a little mellower than the double corona. Usually takes me about 45 very enjoyable minutes to get through it.

GREAT CIGAR, GREAT PRICE!!!

VERY NICE CIGAR. GOT IT IN A VARIETY PACK. I SMOKED IT 1ST BECAUSE IT EVEN LOOKED LIKE THE BEST IN THE PACK. ONE OF MY FAVORITE CIGARS IS THE PADRON ANNIVERSARIO 1964. THIS TORANO CIGAR IS VERY COMPARIBLE TO THE ANNIVERSARIO BUT IT HAS A LITTLE MORE KICK TO ITS FINISH. COMPARE THE PRICE AND YOU WOULD DEFINETLY CHOOSE THE TORANO. I WILL BE BUYING A BOX.

Anyone seen my Punch Double Corona??

I don't see what the big deal is with this one. It isn't bad, it isn't great, and the problem is that it tastes like 100 other cigars out there (even some bundles). Nothing about this one (as far as taste goes) impresses me. It looks great, with the chocolate brown, Cuban-pressed wrapper, and fancy collar. The draw was somewhat tight, and I had to work at it to get an average amount of smoke from what turned out to be a warm draw. To me, the only discernable flavor I detected was smoke, and towards the end, I got this mouth-numbing "chemical" taste. I seem to have hit or miss luck w/ the Torano brands - the Signature Maduro and Exodus Silver are 2 of my favorites, but I'm not a believer in this one or the 1916 Cameroon. Bottom line - for my tastes, there are better choices in the Habano/ sungrown wrapper, full-bodied blend segment of the cigar market.

Great Cigar for a Great Price

This cigar was one of the first cigars I ever smoked. For years I tried many different brands of smokes, some good, some bad. I would always come back to this wonderful burning, chocolate tasting, coffee aroma Torpedo. A MUST HAVE !!!!!!

An Oily Delight!!!

I like box pressed cigars. This is one of the best. Juicy, tasty smoke. I highly recommend...

The Best for the $

Carlos Torano is THE BlendMaster of Cigars in my opinion.
I was introduced to a Carlos Torano 1959 Exodus (double corona) by ordering a "variety pack" to broaden my horizons and the Torano was one of them. Now,,,, thats pretty much all I smoke.
From start to finish; even burn, smooth draw, silky-cocoa taste.
Exquisite!

Great smoke at a decent price

What a surprise, this well made, nice looking cigar has a robust flavor, draw and burn consistently good. Tangy flavor with rich clouds of smoke. Nice light gray ash to boot.

Now that's a cigar!

I first smoked this cigar while enjoying a single malt in a Puerto Rican hotel, it is now my "go to" smoke. Long, slow draw, creamy cocoa flavor that makes for a great evening smoke. Mmmm.

A lot of cigar for the money

I have smoked all the Carlos Toranos, and the Exodus 1959 Torpedo is the most satisfying. A full-bodied stick, for sure, but "mouth watering" truly describes its complex and lasting flavors. Give yourself lots of time to enjoy this big smoke.

A wonderful smoke!

A wonderful smoke! This is a smooth, yet full bodied cigar, packed with the creamy flavor of walnuts, dark roast coffee, with earthy and leathery undertones. Very even burning with an solid, snow-white ash you need a hammer to knock off. Treat yourself to something special.
