Why not 25 cigars in a 8-9-8 configured box?

Why aren't there 25 cigars in this box? These are supposed to be "8-9-8". The term is coined from how the cigars are boxed; bottom layer 8 cigars, middle layer 9 cigars, top layer 8 cigars. Therefore, there should be a total of 25.

Used to be a great cigar. Now a piece of crap.

I used to buy #95 right from the factory in Tampa many years ago. Since moving to Canada, I have not had one in years. I ordered a box, and was extremely disappointed. It tasted horrible, and I could not keep it buring straight. This is the WORST cigar I have smoked in years! Too bad - a legend dies!

Very FINE everyday cigar

Mild, yet interesting full flavored cigar. Having enjoyed a wide range of quality cigars spanning 4 decades now, I think the Cuestra Rey 1884 Natural wraper(Red box) is one of the Best secrets in cigar values! Up untill a few years ago, you USED to be able to grab these on the run at Walgreens drug stores of all places but not any more! (Ahhh for the old days!)
Not a truly great cigar,.. but a FINE cigar you sure can't go wrong with anytime of the day or for any occasion. These get a TWO thumbs up!

Should have smoked the $3.00 instead

I always finish at least most of any cigar I try. I couldn't even get halfway on this one. Maybe I just got a bad one. It tasted like a cedar plank and it tasted old. I like cedar, but I thought I was smoking straight up cedar. Had a real ashy taste to it if that makes any sense....hopefully I just got a bad one

One Fine Cigar!

Tried my first one of these, and all I can say is this is one fine smoke. It has excellent draw and burn, and the taste is just fabulous. I'll definitely be smoking more of these!

Great Vegas Story w/ this 898

Im in Vegas just sitting back watching my friends playing Black Jack, Im just enjoying my cigar. From accross the room some lady yells out "O'crap, whats that stink!?" I just lifted it up to my mouth, took a nice long draw blew out the smoke and smiled at her. Everyone else mentioned how good it smelled, just FYI...Seriously though this a great cigar. Very smooth and consistant.

Consistent

These 47's were all I expected them to be - a well constructed medium strength smoke as all of the others I've had in the Cuesta Rey line. Consistent from box to box.

Consistantly Satisfying

What can I say about a cigar that has been the foundation of "good cigars" for decades. This has to be the cigar that all others should be compared to. Simply one of the "Most Enjoyable" smokes on the market, PERIOD

The memory of greatness

It's been around 15 years or so since I've had a Cuesta Rey cigar. I've gotten so wrapped up in all of the other great premiums over the years that I have forgotten how good they were. Well I got a 3 pack in with the others I won in the auction, and the "memory of greatness" returned.
Absolutely one of the most delicious cigars made.
And...one of the best draws and burn. I must start smoking these beauties again.

Real nice

Nice flavor and even burning, not a trace of bitterness or bite, just a very good smoke.

Not worth the price.

A loosely packed and hot smoke. I thought it was machine made.

Not what it used to be

This cigar is nowhere near as good as it was earlier in the year. They must have decided to rush the hands of time on this one.

Very, very good cigar

I've been fortunate enough to sample many boxes of various brands, styles & quality. The 1884 Maduro is what I come back to, and use as the "baseline" for comparing others to. So far, I've found very few cigars (3) that I'd pass up the 1884 Maduro for. In reviewing my order history with Famous, I've purchased almost 100 boxes of these in a little over 3 years. No other brand on my "favorites" list comes close to this number of boxes.

Every day favorite

I have tried a lot of cigars, but find very few as satisfying as the Cab #47. If you like a fuller taste with a Cameroon wrapper and appreciate A. Fuente's great construction, this one is hard to beat.

Centenial Collection #60

The # 60 is the only Cuesta Rey i have had and found it to be a nice looking,mild-med strength, smooth cigar with a nice burn and draw with only the taste of good tobacco. Lacking in charactor a bit. Just a plain Jane cigar.
