Don Tomas Cameroon Cigars

Good cigar for the price

Everything about this cigar was good except the construction. It seemed like it was rolled loosly and almost felt like a sponge in my fingers. The cigar still burned evenly but a little faster than it should. Still a very good cigar for me but not as good as the Don Tomas Classico.

Let em' sit, not good out of the box, good flavor!

Let em' sit, not great out of the box, but great flavor. They need some time in your humidor. The wrappers were a little brittle out of the box. But GREAT, given some time...

not for me

If you like your cigar hot and fast then this one is for you ! very loose in its construction, you feel that right away. the taste is spicy so it gets point there. but that's it

Not bad, but not great either!

Im not very impressed with this one. The flavor is ok, as well as the appearance. The construction isn't to impressive. As far as the burn, some bad tunnels followed by a VERY hot FAST loose draw. Not my cup of tea.

good a year ago and excellent now

I liked these in 2006, bought some more 2007 and left them to mature in a humidor whilst 'playing' with other brands. Tried one outside today and they are now superb.

Very Nice Surprise

Smooth with a nice, spicy wrapper. Burned slowly and evenly right down to the nub. This one was given to me, but at these prices I see a box, or at least a 5 pack in my future. I found the medium strength rating to be accurate, but I still felt satisfied. Recommended.

OUTSTANDING CIGAR!!!!!!

THIS IS A TRUE BLEND, A FINE SMOKE.

This review was written about Don Tomas Cameroon Double Corona by John of North Carolina on June 19, 2008

Worth the price

I bought a stick from my local. Paid $4. Not as flavorful as Short Story but still a good smoke. I would rate the Short Story at an 8 and these at a 6 (maybe a 7).

Good Value Cigar - Spicy, Sweet, Good Smoke

This one is quite spicy, the way I like cigars to be. The burns uneven but decent overall. If you like spicy cigars, this one is for you. Can't go wrong for $2 a stick. Will buy again.

Great after Lunch smoke when time is short.

Nice little smoke. Especially for two bucks a pop!

Average

I picked up this bundle after I kept seeing it every now and then. Curiousity got the better of me so I bit. The Construction was good at first glance, when I bought these I gave them 30days in my humi so they could relax. The burn was fast and with good smoke. After lighting the wrapper started to crack and split. The ash was black and flakey. The taste was medium with light taste of coffee. Overll this smoke was a let down. I smoked twi more with the same result. There are better daily smkes out there, I prefere the Aurora Principles as a daily quick smoke, the burn amd smoke is always consistent unlike Tomas.

This review was written about Don Tomas Cameroon Robusto 5 Pack by Julian of Arizona on December 26, 2007

Not bad, but nothing outstanding

This is a good very mild smoke but not as flavorful as I would have expected based on it's appearance. The Cameroon wrapper has some minor imperfections and a lump or two but the cigar was otherwise reasonable well made and drew well. However it never really opened up and presented a distinctive taste so it was just another (very mild) cigar. I had my first of the 5-pack with a lager, next time I?ll try one with some coffee. If nothing changes I'll give them a rest in the humidoor. For me the jury is still out on this one.

This review was written about Don Tomas Cameroon Robusto 5 Pack by Manny of Henderson Nevada on October 21, 2007

NOTHING SPECIAL...

I kept seeing these advertised and decided to bite. I wish I didn't. The construction was ok however, when I lit the foot of the cigar it took work as the draw was very tight. After I finally got it going it did not get any better. The smoke was very mild for my taste, and it did not give out that much smoke. I also had to keep re-lighting it, which was a pain. The burn was also very uneven I had to constantly even out the burn. I will not try these again. This judgement comes after smoking two sticks, I was hoping it was just a bad cigar as there is always a bad one now and then. Save your money there are better brands on the market, try Sancho Panza brands they are superior and cost almost the same.

This review was written about Don Tomas Cameroon Robusto 5 Pack by Julian of Phoenix, AZ. on October 19, 2007

Very good especially at this price

Don Tomas are good honest cigars and these are superb but very cheap. Watch how you take the labels off as they sometimes seem to use superglue on the things and these have two to battle with. Roy.R

First One is Great!

Bought a 5 pack to try after having enjoyed other Don Tomas brands and I wasn't dissapointed. Great look and start-up. smooth draw, spicey but not overbearing. Great wrap feel and color, and ash length is 1 inch +. Burns evenly and consistently. Worth much more than the bid price I paid :)

VERY TASTY CIGAR

MY REGULAR SMOKE IS THE DON TOMAS S.E. CONNECTICUT,BUT THE DON TOMAS CAMEROON HAS A LITTLE MORE FLAVOR, MEDIUM BODY BUT SMOOTH ,AND HAS A DECENT PRICE.

This review was written about Don Tomas Cameroon Robusto by NORM BROWN of IL on June 28, 2007

something went very wrong

Let me state that I've had these in the past and enjoyed them very much. I used to buy them at inflated prices from my local tobacconist so when I saw the special FS had I bought 10. The minute I fired one up I knew something was amiss, these usually have a mild but pleasant "bite" followed bt a sweet creaminess and a touch of spice but the one I got from FS had NOTHING. Now when I say "nothing" I literally mean there was utterly no flavor and no sense of presence on my tongue even though it was giving out its usual copious amounts of smoke. I've never experienced anything like it. I let them sit and tried one every week for 4 weeks but they never improved a bit. This wasn't a matter of having an "off" week where one's taste changes, I'm quite aware of that kind of situation but this wasn't it. If I had to guess I'd say something happened where the leaves from this batch didn't get fermented properly.

I still say its a good brand but I would try to be aware because if it happens to you , you should return them. Unfortunately I have 6 left and I doubt after one month FS will allow me to swap them out for something else.

Just plain good.

This robusto from the DT-Cameroon line is a great-looking cigar with a well-rounded, rich flavor to it that I enjoy any time of the day, while still being on the mild side. This whole line from DT is great.

Good smoke!

Have smoked a few of these now, seems to go real well with coffee in the morning. This one is rolled a little on the tight side. Tastes great with lots of smoke. Burned very even. Price is right on!

Not to my liking

No character at all. A medium strength smoke that is really nothing to write home about. I wont buy again.

This review was written about Don Tomas Cameroon Robusto 5 Pack by Tom S of NJ on March 27, 2007

Rich and smooth taste

These little gems are roled tight and stay tight to the last draw .The taste is rich and smooth. This cigar burns clean with near white ash and sky blue smoke. No bitter or bad taste. They are a lot like the Don Thomas S.E.Connecticut except the cameroon wraper adds a little spicier taste.A good cigar for anytime.

Wonderful spice and nut flavor.

This is a winner! Great Cameroon wrapper. Well made. Not for the new smoker it is a little strong. I highly recommend it.

Excellent Interview

This sexy reporter interviewed me for the local TV station, WCGR. Her diction was perfect, and she understood the innovative aspects of my product. A beautiful woman speaking clearly is a big turn on for me. She just kept hitting me with one excellent question after another. It was like the whole room was filled with clouds of fruity excellence. I enjoyed her perky, extroverted personality. When the program ended, she bent down to remove her open toe, high heel sandals from under the desk. We had a personal chat while she adjusted the straps tightly around her ankles. As she stood up, her skirt clung to the silky upper reaches of her thighs. As if in slow motion, the shiny fabric rode up to a miniscule positioning beneath the curvaceous rims of her well-formed buttocks. She feigned a pouting, concerned expression and made a 360-degree turn in front of me asking if there were any wrinkles. I assured her that she looked great. She made a show of patting down her behind. I offered to help out, but she gave me a quizzical look, and jokingly said I was a bad boy. It was a wonderful finish to a great interview. Katie Curric doesn't have anything on this hot little news lady. I can’t wait to meet her for dinner tonight!

One of the best in the sampler

I bought a couple of smaplers with travel humidors. More for the humidor's than the sample cigars. But I've come to really enjoy this particular smoke. Burns well, smokes great start to finish. light and polite for early in the day or when you don't want a full bodied smoke. Though it does have pleanty of flavor. Looking at the price, it smokes much better than the cost. I'll but some in stock in the humidor when there is room. I suggest you try them if you like cameroon wrapers and good tobacco

heady boquet, rich but mild, great feel

I've been looking for a cigar that rivals the CAO Cameroon without the price. This cigar is very rich yet palateable, with a heady bouquet that is better than the CAO. Great with a dark beer. Paul

Excellant smoke - great value

Based on customer ratings on FS.com I selected these. They have excellant, medium flavor and draw, although toward the end, I need to relight. When time is short, I halve one and enjoy it twice. They are more enjoyable than the La Gloria Cubana Churchills I tried previously, at only a six dollars more per box.

A GOOD TIME

I'm kind of a fan of D. Tomas cigars (my overall favorites are the dominican selects)and hadn't given the cameroons a try yet, so I got a five pack to sample them. I was not let down at all! Nice mellow flavor. Great draw and nice even burns on all them. I had a good cup of coffee, a good book, and one of these cigars and I had a very good time! Would recommend to give this one a try.

Relaxing & Enjoyable

First Cameroon cigar I've had. I'm a maduro man, but I must say that this stick was tasty. It was not as tasty as a maduro, but it burned very well and had a wonderful draw. The aroma was pleasant and the smoke was thick and creamy. At the half way point, the flavors really came out. Spice with a hint of chocolate. The closer I came to the end the tastier it became. I ended up smoking it to the nub. Not bad at all. I will try more.

Great Cameroon cigar at a nice price

This is a very tasty cameroon perfecto. If you like the Hemingways you owe it to yourself to try these. The AF Hemingways, are a long time favorite of mine, but the Don Tomas gives me everything I want in a cameroon at a much better price. Great draw, razor sharp burn, and loads of smoke bursting with that spicey cameroon flavor with no harshness. Hard to go wrong with that combination.

Great little smokes!

These are easily my favorite "quick smokes," perfect for a 15-20 minute walk or errand to the store. Medium full flavor, good steady burn, fair draw, and a good amount of smoke.

Very nice cigar

Bought a sample pack based on the ratings and I must say they were well founded. This is my favorite to date, nice even draw from start to finish, great ash and aroma. When I let my wife pick my cigar, this is the one she looks for.

MOVE OVER HEMINGWAY!!

THIS IS A GREAT CIGAR!! VERY COMPARABLE TO THE HEMINGWAY SIGNATURE SERIES AT A FRACTION OF THE COST. I HAVE HUNDREDS OF CIGARS BUT THIS ONE SEEMS TO CALL TO ME. I USUALLY STICK TO A VERY WIDE VARIETY BUT THIS ONE HAS BECOME A REGULAR. WHEN I'M HAVING TROUBLE DECIDING, I ALWAYS TURN TO THIS ONE. VERY SPICY YET VERY PLEASANT. FOR THE PRICE I WOULD SAY THAT YOU MUST TRY THIS ONE. ALL MY FRIENDS LOVE THEM TOO.

Excellent Cameroon Cigar

A terrific cameroon cigar--rates right up there with Partagas and the Fuente Hemmingway. Spicy and full-bodied as can be, but smooth at the same time. Along with Private Stock, this is one of the very best cigar buys around in my experience.

The best value I've ever smoked

I am an avid Cameroon smoker and was looking for a cheaper alternative to my usual Partagas, Upmann, and the occasional Cohiba and CAO. I wanted to try the Don Tomas Cameroon based on a high Cigar Aficionado score, various smoker reviews, and the cheap price. This cigar is one heck of a value - top notch from top to bottom, all at a fraction of the cost of the super-premiums. The DT looks and burns great, leaving a great aroma and a bone-white ash behind. Its one of the spiciest cigars I can remember smoking, all while still being very smooth w/ depth. No question -- this is my new favorite.

Great Cigar

Just received this cigar and had to try it after reading reviews. It was probably the best cigar I had for 2004. What a way to finish the year. Burn was great, nice firm draw but not to tight, slow burn, great ash, and flavor was great and consistent from start to finish. Churchills and Double Coronas for me usually last about 45 mins to one hour, this one 1 hr 15 mins. Can't say enough good things about this one. Worth every cent.

GET TWO BOXES

first box was so good that before i knew it they were all gone.(cam. perfecto #1) All 25 cigars burned and taste great. Great price!! Taste a bit fudgy and smelled of peanuts at start then turned to spice and tea charachter. AWESOME!! Already ordered another box within a month.

Not one I would recommend.

My experience with the Dom Tomas Comeroon Collection seems to be much different than others I have read. On the positive side, I found the contruction, appearance and burn very good. Unfortunately, on the negative side, I found the taste to be among the worst I have ever experienced. If it were possible, I would have thought the cigar was "Spoiled" like a bad egg. Maybe it was an aberation, but I am not likely to try another.

Great Smoke

Don Tomas Cam. Coll. is a great kick back cigar. Pleasant aroma with a good clean draw. The burn was a little uneven to begin with but it leveled out on its own. Great smoke! A "must-have" in your humidor!

This review was written about Don Tomas Cameroon Robusto by D. Vargas of S.A. Texas on June 11, 2004

Nice cigar

A rough looking cigar, especially around the cap, with some inconsistancy among all the cigars in the box. Nonetheless, it draws and burns perfectly, and has a very nice flavor: strong cedar that gives way to dark chocolate. Milder than the Hemingway Classic, it is a very good choice when the Hemingway's are impossible to get.

Very good, some draw problems

I smoked one of these while relaxing at one of the Paris casino's bars in Las Vegas and sipping French roast coffee. The cigar was very good, although I had some draw and lighting problems that others did not, apparently. I would smoke another.

Very Good Smoke!

I have smoked 2 boxs in the last 3 months. This cigar burns great, tight even ash. The draw is good, the taste is full and spicy.

Very Good Cigar

Got one in a sampler, Was so impressed I bought a box. They're all gone now and they were ALL delightful. I've found that I'm really impressed with Cameroon wrappers. Construction is a bit soft but doesn't detract from the whole experience. All burned suprisingly evenly. Puff lighlty and let the aroma drift into your nose to maximize the delicate flavor of this smoke. Don't rush it. Smoke them when you have time to relax and I think you'll be impressed. I'll be ordering another box of these.

This review was written about Don Tomas Cameroon Robusto by Spanky of Los Anglees on December 28, 2003

On second thought

The first one out of the box wasn't all that impressive, as a matter of fact the rest sat in the humidor for over a month before their second chance. I don't know how someone got in my humidor and put the Don Tomas labels on these cigars, but I sure do appreciate it. I got them in the winter, UPS, so it's possible the cold affected them a bit. Once stabilized they turned out to be a good stick at a reasonable price.

Surprisingly good cigar

Pleasing texture, firmly rolled with an easy draw. Beautiful construction! Pleasant aroma, medium strength with very good "earthy, cedary" flavors. The flavor stayed true to the cap with no harshness and a delightful finish. Excellent every day cigar for the price.

A good daily smoke

I really like this smoke for the price. It burns well with a white ash. They came a bit dry but after some humidification turned out to be a nice daily smoke.

GREAT CIGAR

Great cigar for the price.Had a good taste and good aroma.Burn was very well also.Box of 20 lasted me about 3 months and the last one was just as good as the first one, if not better.

This review was written about Don Tomas Cameroon Double Corona by PAPI CHOLO of MOTOWN on May 31, 2003

Decent cigar...

Overall, a decent cigar. Construction was good, but slightly soft. Burn was even except for one part, just past the half way point, but then even out between the half way point and 2/3 point. Ash was light to medium grey, and held until to about 1/3 of the cigar before falling. Taste was in the medium range, starting off slightly spicey and slightly bitter, but mellowing out after the first third, with an overall woodsy and leathery flavor. Not a bad cigar for the price, but not quite my style. Overall, I'd rate it in the 7 out of 10 range.

Holds its own

Because of its appearance, it's difficult not to compare this cigar with Fuente's Hemingway line. Putting that aside, this perfecto completely stands on its own merits. Great from start to finish. A fantastic alternative to the hard to get Hemingways and a great value too.

This review was written about Don Tomas Cameroon Perfecto #2 by Dr. Turd of Shoreline,CT on May 20, 2002

compares favorably to the Fuentes

reminds me of the "Short Story", similar in quality and taste, easier to get. Good buy.

Outstanding

I found this cigar to be one of the best DT's I have ever smoked. The start , finish to the end are great. The blends with the Cameroon wrapper provides a pleasant smoke. I would rate this cigar an easy 8.
