I've had some Don Tomas Cigars that were quite acceptable. This batch has a hard draw, very little taste, burns hot and is not worth the effort.

A stick of crap

I smoked these years ago and liked them, so when they went on sale, I bought a box. What a mistake like sucking an apple thru a straw and the taste was terrible from the begining to the end. I tried three of these so far and there all consistent {Crap}.

Good smoke, good price.

Just came in from smoking a Don Tomas SE CT #300 and had to write a review. Normally a maduro smoker, this cigar was very good and has got me second guessing. I will definately purchase this cigar again especially at FSS's prices!

Great taste at very affordable price

I have tried alot of different cigars over the years and have not found many better than these. They are a great smoke with very smooth flavor. Highly recommend.

Quick but Good

The Cigar is made perfectly. I rarely come across a bad one. It is a fast Smoke but the quality is good. Just dont smoke them too far down.

Good For The Money

This entire brand of cigar holds its own in its price range. They can be a little ashy but they have a good taste. I smoke about a box every other month of these puppies. Make sure you brush before going to bed! -Trust me on that one-

Great smoke all around

I tried this cigar out of a sampler I had ordered along with a friend, which also included 2 Red Dot Cohibas; I was advised it was the best of the bunch & I was not dissapointed; The flavor is excellent; A nice nutty character, with a mild, sweet smoke that was also nutty & woody, like sweet almonds. The pre-lit taste is almost as good as the taste after it is lit...I am definitely getting more of these!!!

Terrible smoke

This cigar's attractive construction belies its bitter tobacco taste. What a disappointment. I smoked two of them and each time had to give up midway. I am too embarrassed to give them away.

As nice as the Occidental Gigante (nearly)

Not that good

Not as good as you would think coming from Don Tomas. Taste was too mild for me. Burned way too fast. The good taste left halfway through the cigar. Try one before you buy a box.

Incredible Smokes!

I just received my Don Thomas S.E's,and WOW! what a great smoke.If you like a mild to med.cigar this is the one.Draw,burn & taste are excellent.I will definitly buy some more of these again!

GREAT CIGAR AT A GREAT PRICE!!

I have always smoked mild cigars (mainly Macanudo). I recently received a box of the #700 Don Tomas and all I can say is WOW!! A simple summary is: A great cigar at a great price! Very well made, PERFECT draw (not always true with Macs). The flavor is exceptional for a mild cigar and gets better as you smoke it. These are exclusive cigars for Famous - give them a try. Not so tasty!

I really like the Don Tomas Camroon Selection, so I thought I would try a different Don Tomas, but I was let down by this smoke. It lacked any real flavor, the aroma was not very pleasing and just not something to satisfy. It did have good burn qualities but that was about it.

creamy, earthy,perfect burn!

This cigar was wonderful. I ususally go for a more fuller bodied smoke, but this cigar was full of creamy, nutty, woody, flavor. It also burned better than most all of the 15 or so different brands i have tried. I got 4 of these in an auction only to get the xikar cutter at $23.00, cigars are a keeper and also great for newbies

Pleasantly surprised

Pleasantly surprised, beautiful construction, nice draw, even burn and consistent, taste is exactly as described nutty and woody. This is a good mid priced cigar, I would buy again, Great daily smoke.

Excellent Smoke

Ordered a box of these and received 20 free of various lengths and ring gauge. Everyone I have smoked has been excellent. Very smooth draw, great gray white ash, construction was flawless, appearance excellent, taste good. These have to be the very best value available. I have not been disappointed with any of the S.E. or the cameroons, or dominican selections. If you don't like these cigars then you are just too hard to please. I will stack these up against other premiums that are 3 and 4 times the price. Thanks again to Famous Smoke.

A fabulous daily smoke

This is probably the best overall value I have found in 5 years of cigar smoking. These Don Thomas CT naturals rival and even better many of the more expensive brands. These particular ones (700s) are like ashton naturals, but with a better flavoured wrapper.

Wonderfull taste and aroma

I am a novice cigar smoker in that I have just recently started to smoke them ore than just once in a while. I ordered a sample pack to see if this wa something I wanted to do. I was greatly surprized I found them to be a well ballanced and flavorfull cigar that I have no trouble smoking regularly. I am placing an order for a couple of boxes in the morning.

Great Value

This is a nice airy and light smoke with a good burn and no aftertaste. Should most certainly be considered as an addition to any humidor for an everyday smoke. Nice flavor, good strong ash formation... a quality smoke!

Really Liked This One

Tried 1 of these in a sampler package and was very satisfied. Great draw and burn, just a hint of a natural sweetness on the lips and great aroma and flavor. Cant comment on consistency since I've only enjoyed 1, but this stick is definitely gonna get another try.

Outstanding Smoke for the Price

I've smoked half a dozen boxes of these and the quality is consistently good. Good construction, lights effortlessly, draws easily, nice tight ash, good (mild) flavor that is consistent all the way to the end. A great everyday smoke for the price.

Much better than I expected

Having had a bad smoking experience with the Camaroon Perfecto #2 (loose ash, loose draw, bitter taste), I didn't have much hope for the S.E. Connecticut. But I gotta say, this is a pretty tasty smoke on the mild side of medium. The 300 is a little sweet and very smooth. The draw was right on and the volume of smoke was big. The only problem was when I put it down for no more than a minute it went completely out even though it had been burning just fine up to that point. Overall I'd say it's pretty good for about $2/stick...at least worth trying.

A Little Above Average

BEST OVERALL VALUE AVAILABLE

I HAVE BEEN SMOKING THE SPECIAL EDITION 300'S AND 600'S FOR ABOUT 5 MONTHS. I FIND THEM TO BE ABOUT THE BEST VALUE YOU CAN FIND IN THE CIGAR WORLD. THE COLOR AND TASTE IS EXCELLENT. THE CONSTRUCTION IS VERY GOOD AND THE BURN IS QUITE CONSISTANT. THE THING I LIKE THE BEST IS THE SOFT, SMOOTH, EASY DRAW. THE SINGLE WORST THING A CIGAR CAN HAVE IS A HARD DRAW. Holy Special Edition Don Tomas, Batman

The Don Tomas SE is like a Holiday in itself. The smoke pours off the end like smoke out of a chimney on Christmas Day only to be matched by the mouth watering aroma--much like the perfect thanksgiving turkey makes a room of people drool, this cigar will make even the most seasoned smoker's mouth and throat put up welcome signs for cancer. Its well constructed and does not go out like its Dominican Selection counterpart. The Dominican used to be my favorite until this cigar came along. This is an especially nice cigar for smokers when they become tired of darker maduro blends and want a lighter wrapper. I'd give it two thumbs up, but my hands are full smoking one right now.

Easy Draw, Mild taste, even Burn, No after taste,

I ordered the sampler pack. Smoked the #600, what a smoke. Mild to the taste. The cigar burns even and leaves no after taste. It has a silky smooth smoke, easy to draw. Great smoke. I'm ordering a box.

Enjoyed them so far

Got these cigars in various sampler packs. After reading some of the earlier reviews, I wasn't expecting much. Well, so far I've not been disappointed. Not sure if the guys that slammed this cigar got a bad batch, but I've been very pleased. The burn has been even and I've not had to relight, the flavor is smooth and mild, and the aroma isn't anything special but it's not anything to complain about. I did let these age in my humidor for about 2 months before trying though, and with several other cigars I've tried, that seems to make the difference. I'd recommend them, especially since the price is so nice!

Awful

Flavor was hard to describe - terrible, horrible, and awful come to mind. Couldn't finish it - hung in there till the half way point. You have to be a crack smoker to appreciate these. Another dissapointing Don Tomas - I give up.

Superior to some High End Cubans

I first got a box of these in Bahrain of all places. After smoking numerous of authentic cubans in places like Korea, Singapore, Bahrain, and the U.A.E. this el cheapo in comparison to some of the 25 to 30 cubans was equal to and even better than the Cubans. I can't describe all the "flavors" let's just say it was a smooth smoke all the way to the nub. Its one you can finish and not have to throw away after you've smoked half or 3/4 of it. I always keep my humidor stocked with these. Sometimes I say to myself that I should buy at least 50 boxes since they are limited edition. Or maybe they are only saying that? When or if they are gone they will be missed!

DON TOMAS SE 600

Sorry guys, this is a great cigar.

Can't believe the negative reviews. This cigar (SE 200) smokes evenly with creamy smooth draw and holds a firm, square ash. No bitterness as the cigar is consumed (I smoke 'em till they burn my fingers). The cigar is not as spicy as they used to be (several years ago), but this is a terrific smoke at a great price. Send me your rejects!

Horrible

I read a review before I bought this product that said "the cigars had gotten really bad" or something to that effect. The only thing I disagree with is that they are not bad but infact, horrible. Stay from these cigars they have lost their taste and "the bloom is off the rose". Personally I am throwing the rest of them in the trash!!!

Mild and nutty

I found the flavor to be the best quality of this cigar. The trouble I encountered was the construction, I never could get them to smoke straight! This realy distracted from a casual early day smoke.

I guess size does matter.....

We all know different sizes of cigars can be different taste. I have been smoking the 100's since they came out and am very happy Famous still is able to provide them. The 7x50's are very good, can't speak for the others though. Liked the regular DT line and these are just as good.Don't buy them, so they are there for me!

Disappointed...

Was expecting a much better smoke. Flavor and aroma very nasty. Don't like the bite and after taste this smoke leaves. Wish I had read the last couple of comments. Should have stuck with La Gloria Cubana.

What have they done with my favorite cigar?

I read the other reviews before ordering, but I've been a Don Thomas SE smoker for years and have always loved their flavor, aroma, burn, and total enjoyment, so I didn't pay much heed. However, I don't know what changed (the wrapper), but they are actually quite terrible. They're painfully dull tasting and harsh. What have they done with a great product? I dare say this will have to adversely affect the sale of this cigar. How sad. I'm contacting Famous to return the box and also request they don't send the back ordered 5 pack sampler. If you order this cigar, don't say I didn't warn you...

First box great, 2nd box very different

I was so impressed with the first box, I ordered another, and was disappointed to find that they barely resembled the first. The taste was really different, like in a totally different wrapper, not terrible, but not for me.

Good........But not that good.

Dissapointing. Expecting a great cigar, I found the Don Tomas Special edition to be only an average cigar. I liked the taste, mild and perfect for any time of the day, but the burn was terrible, often burning down one side of the stick. If they had been constructed better, these would be my favorites.

Some are inconsistent, but still a good smoke

My first experience was a good one. After ordering a box, I found many of them rolled loosely with too fast a burn. Taste is relatively mild, but some may find the taste a touch harsh. A very good value from a solid premium cigar maker.

Great Afternoon Smole!

This is a fantastic smoke. The construction of this cigar is excellent and it delivers consistant, mild to medium bodied flavors of spice and coffee. Perfect for those early afternoons when a heavier smoke is too much. I am on my third box and haven't had a bad one.

THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST SMOKES OUT THERE!!!

From start to finish the Don Tomas #300 is great! It has a consistent burn,looks beautiful and has a nice draw as well as a wonderful taste. There will always be a good stock in my humidor.
