What can I say?

What can I say? They cost like a buck. Overall not too bad. Decent flavor and not harsh. Good if you don't have time to enjoy anything better.

Very Good Overall

Bought a bundle of FDS 1000 Lonsdale on special and my only regret is that I didn't buy two more at the special price to keep in the humidor. Taste and burn = 9, consistency = 8, appearence = 7, and DRAW = 10!!! Why is it that every time I buy a bundle of cheap cigars they are better than the expensive boxed cigars (except for Punch which are always great) I buy at the same time? May be a little strong for some, but worth the risk for anyone who enjoys a medium to full bodied smoke. Though taste is subjective I would place these better than Arturo Fuente Curly Head Deluxe, but not quite as good as, and stronger than Maroma Lonsdales.

Great Burn, Great Draw, Great Price/ Needs time!

These cigars represent an excellent value but they need to soak in the cedar for a while. Never had a $1 cigar that looked and smoked like this one. Right out of the bundle, the first one is being enjoyed as I type this. I have to say that the flavor doesn't set my world on fire but for a buck or so a piece, WTF? Let's not kid ourselves here, it is not a Romeo Y Julietta or a Macanudo but it's also not $5 a stick. I've tried a few others in this range that tasted like hay being smoked through a rusty tailpipe with a pillow stuffed inside to add to the dis-comfort of knowing you've been marked as a schmuck just for trying it. This is not the case here at all. This would make a great anytime smoke, especially when you want to burn one and not pay a whole lot of attention to it! Bought these on sale and would buy them again-on sale. Wife hates the smell of these though, that is the biggest complaint.

Terrific value - good flavor

Got these on sale--I had been wanting to try them. I often buy the Famous Dom. 2000, which I have found require very careful aging. But these 1000s age well, both in and out of the cellos. They retain their complex, medium strength flavor--very satisfying. The only problem I've had is almost half have a tight draw. But this is not unusual for this shape--when I buy them again, I'll get the Toro or Robusto, which I'm sure won't have as much of a problem with the draw.

Excellent Bundled Cigar, Excellent Price!

The torpedo is my favorite bundled cigar. The secret is to let them age in the humidor for about a month. I pass these out to friends who visit and they are surprised. These are my everyday (afterwork) smoke and save the really excellent premium ones for my weekend reward!

I agree with JS

Smoked the first one a year ago - not bad, not good, not much happening with this cigar. Tossed them in the Humidor (a cedar lined Humidity Controlled Closet) and forgot about them. I was rumaging around a few days ago and came on them again. Tried another after a years aging - better taste, not great but OK. What can you expect for under a buck. If you can store them for a year they are Okay.

Musty smelling

I am a value smoker for my everyday cigars and have tred many bundles, but these, unfortunately are clunkers. I was first struck by the musty smell of the bundle upon arrival. I smoked one but that only confirmed a musty flavor and couldnt smoke it for more than 5 minutes. They are now in their own Humi so as not to contaminate my other smokes. Maybe they need some time alone !

Nice smoke for the price

I got 3 bundles at auction recently. I gave a bundle to a friend as a thank you gift. While on a recent golf trip we got into his bundle of the robustos. He liked them so well, he made me sell him the other 2 bundles. They burned evenly and we really liked the way they smoked. Will buy again but this time won't tell my buddy Jimbo.

BLEH,,,,,

Just bought a bundle and of the two I tried, its just awful I tried to dissect on and found it to contain table scraps. Very unpleasant. I wouldn't give these things out to the everyday cigarette smoker.

Budget Price, Luxury Taste

Well now it's been over a month since I got these cigars, and I've been plowing through them quite quickly. Delicious!

Bargain Hunters will love this cigar!

I got four bundles of this cigar off of cigarauctioneer.com. Famous Smoke has almost always given me some good cigar deals, but this is one of the tops! I smoked one out of the bundle and was thoroughly impressed. Mild to medium in strength, good tobacco/leathery, perhaps even slightly nutty taste. Two weeks later I had one and was even more impressed. The draw was perfect. So far I have tried two out of each bundle and I like them. Highly recommended!

No Flavor

I just got this bundle today and smoked one, taste like burning yard clippings. Great draw but no flavor. I'll let them age abit and try again, but as of right now, I won't be ordering this cigar again.

pretty decent for the price

Smoked one right out of the bundle and it was pretty good.Good burn all throughout. Even better when you let it sit in the humidor for a couple of days. Would definitely buy again.

So-So

This smoke has great taste, but the draw, as advertised, is indeed inconsistent. Four of them were un-smokable-even after aging. But I guess a long smoke after a long day, albeit a shabby one, is better than nothing.

Good

I agree with Bruce from VA. I have tried many bundle brands trying to find a decent everyday smoke for a reasonable price and thus far have been extremely dissapointed. I grabbed a bundle of these on sale and when they arrived they actually looked pretty good. They seemed to be packaged well. I put them in the humi and have tried several at this point. Not too bad. They have all been consistantly good. They burn well for the most part (I couldn't believe how white the ash was on these!). Flavor is pretty good. The wrappers and caps are a little ugly but I would have to say at this point for the price, this is a keeper. I will most likely order another bundle at some point. Give them a shot you might be suprised, If ya don't like them you're not out much!

nice

Smoked 1 right outta the bundle, couldn't believe how good it was. I will let them sit for a few months, can't wait to try one then. Better than 90% of the bundled Dominicans out there.

Made a mistake

Smoked one upon reciept ... a terrible smoke ...tasted liked they were rolled just prior to shipping and were never in a humidor...after this is written will call Famous for a return authorization

I've tried um all, bundle Dominicans.

These are the best. Aroma, flavor, burn (black and white layered ashes an inch-and-a-half in length, and EVEN.) At the last inch the flavor starts to get harsh a bit, but you don't want to put it DOWN! When the ash falls it's perfectly conical!! No relight! I've tried seconds, alternatives, long filler, short filler, sandwich; these are the ticket. GET 'EM!!!

Want a relaxing, well priced robusto? THIS IS IT!

For years I've been disappointed by "everyday value" cigars. I really don't expect too much anymore . . . and usually return a great many. BUT, Famous Dominican 1000 Robustos are the exception!! Decent draw, acceptable construction and a pleasant mild/medium smoke, (albeit a little ugly). Don't be stupid, it isn't going to taste like a $10.00 cigar, but for the price, it is the only "value" smoke that I would waste a match on. Just bought 3 more bundles!

great smoke

this is a great everyday cigar

good flavor, poor draw

I ordered several singles of the various Famous bundles, and these, other than the hard draw, taste pretty damn good. No real "nuances" or any of that fancy stuff, just a straight ahead TOBACCO flavor, which I like.

Want a daily smoke you can look forward to?

Well this is it. Get a bundle and smoke 'em. Don't have to age them for two month's to get them to be only adequate like many bundled cigars. These have a wonderfully smooth taste, burn well and are well constructed. They take a bit to get drawing well but you get a full hour and a half of good draw after that. My new favorite daily value smoke.

If you like a milder cigar these are worth trying

If you like a milder cigar these are worth trying. I ordered because the country and ingredient tobaccos were described the sames as Hamilton House brand...which I really liked. These are nothing like those, however. Remember 20-30 years ago when Dutch Masters was a decent cigar. These remind me of those. I usually like maduro cigars, so these are not my "flavor", but after they sat in my humidor for about a month, they settled down to a nice mild smoke.(They came awfully dry). They became pleasing in burn, construction, and draw. They cannot be smoked out of the bundle, however, as you will find that any taste at all is only unpleasant. I would have bet money that it wasn't even the same cigar. What a difference a few weeks in the humidor it made.

Splendid quality at a Reasonable Price

I have been in the cigar business for years. This bundle is splendid quality at a reasonable price. For the everyday smoker you can't beat it.
My only complaint is in the individual cigar celephane wrapper.. loose the tape, makes it difficult to open.

GREAT VALUE!

GREAT SMOKE FOR THE EVERYDAY SMOKER WITH LESS THAN A SIX FIGURE INCOME. WELL MADE, SMOOTH TASTE, EVEN BURN THAT HOLDS AN ASH, AND A JUST RIGHT DRAW. BY FAR AND AWAY THE BEST OF THE VALUE BUNDLES.

looks good smokes poor

was looking forward to try one of these rather handsom cigars but became exhausted trying to smoke one. not the best draw.....

Weak in nearly every way

These cigars are weak in both flavour and strength. I tend to like a medium to full cigar with some lovely notes, but these have less taste and strength than a pile of burning leaves. They are constructed well, but lack in nearly every other way.
