For the money this is a winner

Bought a box of these from Cigar Monster and they are great! No problems with any of them, and setting in the humidor only makes them better. I have already ordered another box.

Hand it to Famous

You really have to hand it to Famous for having the guts and integrity to publish negative reviews of their products. I think reviewers should consider that and make sure they've tried enough of the product to make the assessment and include the good with the bad in writing an honest review. I appreciate Famous and those reviewers who do so without malice in good faith, including the good, the bad and the ugly. (Some other sites are more gnarly in stifling or censoring any negativity ... which means one can't quite depend on the reviews for accuracy or honesty)

Do Not Order

As most reviews state, these cigars are on the harsher side, though that is not my biggest problem...i've been through 5 of them and all have canoed so bad and had so many hot spots I had to trash them all. Dont buy something that is just unsmokable. Even if they were free, who cares!?!

Whoa!

I am 51 years old and I don't think I have enough years left to mellow these with proper Humi time. These cigars are just plain harsh. They are very well constructed and a handsome cigar but...I've been in building fires without the benefit of a respirator and found it to be a more enjoyable smoke. If these sticks need to be aged perhaps Famous should age them before releasing them to the public. I would not even consider purchasing another round, I'll just move on.

Sparkplug Sassy Cat

This sparkplug of a smoke offers a sassy enchanted flavour. It has a pleasant gratifying aroma and creamy nutmeg taste. problem is construction is poor to lousy with virtually every cigar developping some sort of canoe issue or hot sports. The smoke would be a terrific buy if its construction werent so lousy.
The draw is sufficently miserable along with a canoe that will develop in the first 5 minutes of the smoke, relighting will help early in the smoke, the hot spots will get larger quickly and burn seriously hot, they are close to impossible to work around yet cutting will not help as they emerge near the band as its really a bummer because the taste of the cigars is top notch with hints of nutmeg and cream. Even cigars that taste like winners, are losers sometimes. Sassy cat.

great smoke

couldn`t believe the price

Terrible

The taste was very harsh; almost like annoying cheap cigar. I gave a few out to some of my buddies thinking it may just be me. They agreed it was terrible. Save your money! Put your money into a cigar you know is good. For a house brand the price is too high for the lack of quality in Tast. Famous YOU GUYS CAN DO WAY BETTER!Terrible Terrible Terrible.

Like the Tigers. They're g-r-r-r-r-r-r-r-e-a-t!

Been smoking these for a year now. Others report bad draw - after 7-8 boxes I have had 100% good draws, though a couple per box have had an uneven burn, but I can live with that. Great cedar and pepper spices in a medium-full smoke, that, at times, shows itself to be full strength. My favorite cigar, and a steal with the BOGO. Time to stock up!

EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!

The FSS Nic Corojo Toro might just be one of the best cigars ever made by Tropical. They are gorgeous to the eye and more importantly, absolutely delicious.
These start out with a nice blast of spice and quickly settle back into a well balanced and very flavorful smoke. Medium to full bodied, with a rich, plentiful, complex, and layered flavor profile.
They draw well, burn well, and smoke well. I am amazed at how consistent they are now too. Wow..what a great smoke. Thx Famous....another big hit!

For The Patient Only

Let me say right out of the gate that these cigars taste delicious. No doubt about that. but as the previous poster alluded to, they require aging.....a LOT of aging. Not that they won't taste ok off the truck but the chances are they will be nearly impossible to draw from with a burn that is all over the place. Think in terms of a year or thereabouts in order to get the best experience with these. My opinion is that it would help if Famous would start sticking the finished product into some aging rooms for longer than what they are now in order to allow customers to enjoy this fine house brand sooner rather than later.
Other than the aging issue, these are a fine smoke, particularly if you are a fan of ligero laced products like Rocky Patel's "Edge", La Flor Dominica's "Ligero" and the Gran Habano #3 & #5

I have a new 'Famous' favorite

With the current 'buy one box get one box free deal', I just couldn't resist and had to try these.
Straight out of the box this is a damn fine smoke.
Nice draw, great taste, even burn.
Let's now... 40 cigars for $63.99 comes out to about $1.60 each You can't go wrong at that price.

A Decent Smoke

My first two experiences with these weren't so good. They were either wrapped too loosely or they split if you even looked at them wrong. I just received another fiver and it looks like Famous has tightened up the QA somewhat. They still aren't very smokable off the truck. The draw is quite difficult and they contain a lot of oil. They need humidor time more than anything else. I did try one though after I found one that had a passable draw I had to dry box it for several days in order to get the oils to harden up. Luckily the wrappers didn't split and I managed to have a good experience. Its a strong smoke to be sure. The ligero is prominent and the corojo adds a flavorforful dimension to it. Its obvious Famous is going for the Rocky Patel Edge fanbase with this and they have come close. The biggest difference is that these have a very strong nutty flavor...almost like a Brazil nut. Definitely not unpleasant....just different.
Overall I still feel they are overpriced but if Famous can keep the quality on these high enough the cost may be justified.

Ligero Wrapped in Corojo Rules!

While a bit pricey for a house brand, these sticks are a home run for FSS. I have always been partial to Nicaraguan cigars. The Torpedo made me lust for ligero. If you like Nicaraguan sticks, try a 5-pack. You will be hooked and you will order by the box.

good cigar

Got a 5'er on recommendation of a botl & puffed 'em up......surprise! A damn good cigar for the money, first & foremost a nice spicy start mellowed into a woody/coffeee taste to the end, solid, even burning, enjoyable smoke, good job FSS!.........B+

Very mild, smooth and easy to draw.

This was a very mild and smooth cigar. Never had it before and received it in a 20 sampler pack. I would recommend this to anyone. It is a very good cigar for the price. Not cheaply made. very good contruction and draw and flavor.

Ok, What's going on guy's?

Like Ive said in the past, I dont believe all cigar smokers are created equal. If you read the three previous reviews of this smoke, you would think its a lousy smoke. I received 2 of these in a sampler and guess what, Im ordering a box today. This smoke is with out a dout, one of the best deals going on the web site, make no mistake. This stick is in my opinion a first class effort to bring you a top quality cigar, at an incredibly low price. Im certain this is why Famous put there name on it. Is the taste for everybody, probably not, the taste of cigars in general pretty subjective to the individual. I personally like the taste of these, and am actually ordering 2 boxes, robustos, and torpedos today.

One of the better house brands

An appealing toothy cigar, great draw, even burn and nice ash.Great for its price!

A Decent Smoke

This is a good smoke, no doubt about it. I love ligero and this stick packs a decent amount in there. Unfortuantely the actual construction leads to it getting soft, spongy and hot after smoking about 1/4th of it. Further, for a house brand it simply too pricey for what you get. For another $15 i can get a 24 ct box of La Flors which are the gold standard for ligero based smokes IMO. Hopefully at some future time Famous will drop the price on these to something more reasonable. Should that time come it will sit alongside with the Nicaraguan 3000 line as the finest house brands in all the land.

really nice smoke

As soon as it was dropped off I had to try one. It was better than I expected. thank you.

Best house-brand I've tried

These are truly good cigars, especially for the price. Rich smoke, creamy taste and well balanced throughout. Highly recommended.

Not The Best

These cigars start off tasting great but finish harsh and terrible. Some burnt good but most didn't burn evenly. About half were plugged and almost unsmokeable. They aren't worth the price. Maybe I just got a bad box but I probably won't buy again.

Poor Man's Rocky Patel - Wonderful

I was able to obtain 10 of these wonderful smokes on their auction page. I got 10 for 10 bucks, not bad considering the usually run for about $3.00.
Anyway, this robusto size cigar measures 5 x 52 and is part of their Private Selection. It is a full-bodied cigar made of Nicaraguan Cuban-seed Ligero long-filler & binder tobaccos wrapped in a Cuban-seed Corojo wrapper. The smoke is smooth with traces of spicy tobacco flavors. It is well constructed and burned evenly. It is a great alternative to the Rocky Patel Series. So, if your budget can not afford Rocky; try these low budget smokes.

Looks good, tastes not so good

This cigar needs some aging time, because right now it just does not taste very good. It's a bit harsh, has spicy taste, I gave up about 1/3 through. I hope they get better with age.

Inconsistent contruction, but nice tobaccos

A nice looking cigar in the lonsdale shape. Has that nicaraguran smell and beautiful reddish brown wrapper. Only problem is the construction.
I had a five pack of which three were smokable. One was too tight and too difficult to smoke. One was completely plugged with no air flow! It went straight into the trash.
2 out of 5 cigars that are unsmokable means I would never purchase any more. I sent e-mail to Famous about the poor quality but it was ignored.
I'll say skip this cigar and buy something better for the same money.

Why did you put your name on this puro?

For $65 a box there are some damn good cigars. Try a Rockey Patel Select. This cigar has a miserable burn, a bitter, not spicy, taste, and is inconsistant. I smoke 5-7 cigars a day for the past 25 years. Famous, I'm a good customer and you guys are great! But, You could do better.

Beautiful daily smoke

This cigar debuted on the cover of the Famous catalog and sounded great. I ordered a box of the robustos and tried them. To my delight, they were beautifully wrapped and constructed. The cigar had no plugs and was packed nicely with an easy before light draw. The light was easy, fast, and tasty. No green taste. Smooth and full bodied. Tight light grey-white ash. Ash fell at 2 1/2 inches. Taste was not so much one dimensional, it changed from initial spice to a smooth nutty flavor with hints of that earthy taste. The spice came back at last third. still smooth and finish was longer than most Famous brands. I won a box of the smaller petite corona size in a Famous' auction and those are a bit stronger, fuller bodied, and flavorful. More spicy due to being able to taste the wrapper. I will keep these on hand.

OK, not great

Pro: nice firm construction, solid white ash,
really nice aroma, very easy draw

Con: the flavor is a bit harsh (not strong, just "off"), not as good as the aroma led me to expect. The wrapper is also a bit on the rough/veiny side.

They're OK for an afternoon smoke, but
the Flor de Oliva Corojo is as good at a
better price.

great tasting robusto

I'm smoking one now and it's probably the best private line by far. The taste is very consistent in this cigar from start to finish. good full tobacco flavor.
