Griffin's Cigars

Great taste and my #1 smoke along with the 300's

Very consistent tasting smoke like all the griffin's I've tried. My only negative comment is that, like the rocky patel cuban blend belicoso, one or two out of the box have a hard draw and inconsistent burn.

over rated premium smoke

I worte a review of this cigar a few days ago as maybe it got erased. This cigar is not in the same league with Ashton.

Good Cigar

It has a smooth taste, looks and smells good and burns well. The only problem i had was the band glue was stuck to the cigar and actually tore the wrapper when i removed it.

Great smoke period.....

I have been picking up 5 packs , trying a few different brands. I have always liked the Griffins, but have moved on to many other different smokes. Coming back and trying the robusto five pack, I have no idea why I ever left. This is just a great smoke, from begining to end. I even smoked the Davioff Aniverary the day before and thought the Griffin was just as good and much better price.

Top Notch

This cigar is hands down my favorite smoke. The #500 is the perfect size for smoking while fishing and working. It is not overpowering at all and I can hold it in my mouth all day without becoming sick. It has a pleasant nutty flavor, excellent draw, pretty consistant burn and construction, and has a pleasant aroma. It is a very good smoke for beginners who want to taste the difference between a decent smoke and an exquisite one.

Best of the lot

New to cigar smoking, purchased five packs of Ashton, Don Diego, Macanundo, and Griffins. The Griffins were by far the most enjoyable. Smooth, even burn, good construction to the end. Will be buying a box of these!

Tastes like a Cohiba Siglo!!!

Just the other day I thought I'd have a change of pace, instead of an Anniversario or a Zino. I thought I'd pick up a Griffins, so I went with a maduro robusto, it was a brilliant decision on my behalf; I punched a hole in that cigar and got perfect pre-lit draw and a taste of that buttery Habanos wrapping which was surreal for a Dominican cigar, and a Davidoff no less. Anyway I light it up and am met with a complexity that parallels a Siglo, it's the first cigar that wasn't a Habanos that tasted just like one over the course of my eight years of cigar smoking. Lastly it left no aftertaste, maintained an even draw, never got too hot within which I smoked it down to a nub. Definitely need to get a box or two!

This is a Great Smoke

This is a great smoke, it is a med smoke that has a perfect draw, burn, and a long gray ash. The taste is grassy with a coffey undertones. One of the best cigars for the money.

Not bad

These are a nice well made smoke not bad, spend an extra 50 cents and buy the zino bullet.

Just a fair smoke

This cigar has an easy draw, a smooth enough taste but a soft, mushy feel in the hand. As I love a brick-hard smoke, I can't recommend this stogie.

This review was written about The Griffin's Toro by Kevin Helrich of New York on December 21, 2006

okay

I tried this smoke looking for a medium/mild smoke that is smooth, because I have started a quest for the smoothest cigar under 8.00$. The griffin started of with a little bite to it, but it mellowed out, it had a sweet kind of creamy, woody taste throughout. The griffin burned well and had a nice draw, but it just wasn't that smooth, it had a bite to it with a slight sting, to my throat, overall I would expect more from davidoff, maybe the maduro is smoother?

NO PRETENDING--THIS ONE'S TOP NOTCH

Bought a few robusto singles to sample and my expectations were all confirmed: this is a rich, classy, genuinely premium cigar. It was never too strong yet never short on satisfaction. Don't smoke this cigar out in a breeze or you'll lose 70% of the experience! I smoked it in an alcove of my porch where the air is still and I could savor its perfect aroma. I imagined my porch to be an opulent smoking room at Chateau Lake Louise, and my plastic patio chair to be an overstuffed leather smoking chair No pretending at all with the cigar--it was all real! My wife even gave her limited approval.

Nice smoke.

The Griffin's #200 was a nice, smooth, mild smoke. The draw was great and I found nothing wrong with it at all. I will get more very soon.

An obvious class act......

While the flavor of this fine cigar is not a cutting edge exotic blend, it is still excellent and provokes positive comments from those, including non-smokers, who happen to smell it. Overall The Griffins Prestige is absolutely first rate and can only be compared to the best.

The Griffin Robusto of all sizes is best

Tried these early in my cigar education and they've been a staple in my humidor ever since. Great flavor, consistent taste, burn and draw which is always complete, effortless and thick. Wow, excuse now, I have to go...

I love this smoke

The robustos are my favorite. A great anytime cigar. Of all the Griffin's I have smoked, I have never had a bad one. Every one has been consistent from beginning to end. Aged for a month or so in the humidor, fantastic. I always have a few Griffin's on hand.

Nice overall smoke...

The griffins are well constructed cigars with a perfect draw and tons of smoke. The flavor is mild and good, although it did get a tad hasher as it went on. A solid "B", not my absolute favorite, but something I would not be embarrased to smoke with friends.

Griffins Toro ! AmazingO!

Men! Sorry ladies this is a manly man's review! If you like and enjoy Davidoff's I suggest you consider buying a box of Griffins and compare. Very very close in my opinion. Taste, construction, aroma , draw, dam near perfect. Of course we will here from somebody bitchin about the draw or some tiny flaw! Get a real career so you can afford to smoke quality cigars. Remember your really lighting your money on fire! The ash was a perfect white and my wife actually liked the aroma. One of the below listed reviews also mentioned the same response while at a bar. I smoke fairly expensive cigars so if you like variety and quality with a great price, just buy a box. I think Griffins are made at the Davidoff factory. If you need to verify that email Arthur who is the President of this great company. No I am not a relative! If I was, I would expect a courtesy box once in a while! One last thing for the whiners on the draw . It was perfect. Tip to tip. These also reminded me of a Montecristo White band. Big savings there too! Now quite thinking about it, and just buy a box! Think of the therapy you can get with each stick..........and your wife my actually like the smell! Thanks Gary!

equal to the Griffins robusto - excellent smoke

excellent smoke - same taste to within an inch and the draw and and construction were impeccable and equal to the Griffins robusto in every way - will certainly buy more of both

Nothing Special

The draw and burn were excellent. That's it! The taste was terrible. Nothing special at all - why does everyone like this cigar? I wasn't impressed at all - taste is bitter - I couldn't even finish it.

This review was written about The Griffin's Robusto (4) by Bill of Connecticut on December 10, 2004

new smoker but the best I have had so far

smooth - very nice draw and never a bite or harsh even at the end - best cigar I have had so far among many good ones

I've found my favorite cigar...finally!

As with most cigar smokers, I've always searched for that elusive "perfect" cigar. The Griffins has turned out to be mine. Perfect draw, construction, flavor, appearance, etc. I have none of that BS of "hints of nuttiness with essence of so-and-so". Just a damn good cigar!

This review was written about The Griffin's Robusto by Smokey Greenawalt of Pequea, PA on December 2, 2004

A very good smoke.

Just finished off a Griffin's Maduro Robusto with an outstanding glass of wine and found the taste to be surprisingly fuller than I was expecting. The draw and burn was excellent with the great smelling smoke that I was expecting. The construction is very firm as you would expect from this high quality of a cigar. What surprised me was I was expecting the tast to be more of a mild to medium, but I would say that it was more medium to full. Don't get me wrong, it was an outstanding smoke, but more fuller than I was expecting.

My first The Griffin's. I'm getting more!

This was a wonderful mild to medium smoke. It was a beautiful cigar visually, well constructed, and had a pleasant aroma. Burn was even with a medium gray ash. Very consistent with nutty flavors and a bit of cream. I am definitely going to try others in this line.

It's the only cigar I have a private humidor for.

One stick of The Griffins is all it will take and you may never desire any of your old favorites again. Consistantly smooth with a scrumptious boquet and a draw that brings you back to those old havanna nights.

"Ten-ringer!" only one allowed around the house.

I like robustos...Bacarrat,Punch Deluxe and the Griffin's.Griffin's gets an 8.0.Draws easily, and that aroma...the only one with which I am allowed near the house!

Great

I have enjoyed quite a few different sizes of The Griffins with both Connecticut Shade and maduro wrappers. Both are quite smooth, creamy and delicious, drawing well. This is a Great special occasion cigar...even if you have to make up a special occasion to enjoy one.

'Bulls Eye

My standard "every day" cigar as well as my special "gift" cigar. A mild, easy draw, nice burn with good aroma and flavor. Rarely lets me down. Aways appreciated when given as a gift and is so consistent it is virtually 'worry free'.
