Arturo Fuente Hemingway Cigars

My top cigar so far ---

I notice immediately about this cigar is the solid construction. This baby is well made. It has a great draw for how tightly rolled it feels. Great taste even before lighting up. Unfortunately, some shops sell this for $9 each. If there is a similar smoke at half the price, I would love to try it! Please let me know - kelloggfan@gmail.com This is the best I have had so far...

A fantastic cigar, full of taste. I'm buying a box

A wonderful cigar that I enjoyed smoking for over an hour! The best I've smoked in my search for the perfect cigar for "My Favorite" and repeat purchases! I'll be buying these regularly!

GREAT STICK

I tend to enjoy more full bodied cigars but quite frankly, I have never been dissappointed with any of the Hemingway series. I would say they are medium to full flavored, but very well balanced so that they can be enjoyed at just about any time. I just finished the evening with Hemingway Signature and a full bodied zinfandel (Steele Pacini Vineyard) that was just marvelous. I kept thinking to myself, "this cigar is well balanced, with superb flavors and a medium body and it truly shines in the final third". I then think to myself "If I had a single smoke that I would want for any occassion at any time, would this not be the perfect one?" It is an exemplary cigar with a beautiful shape and a perfect burn (every time I have had one that has been properly maintained) that I have found to always satisfy. I have a humidor filled with Padron serie 1926 and 1964 and 6000, Rocky Patel Decade and Old world, and Partagas Serie D, and I love every one of them, but if I had to pick one for any occassion or one to share with someone whom I have not smoked with before, this would be my go to stick. It just does everything right.

The Hemingway is a Must Try Cigar

Oh Man! It's really hard to let go at the end!

Already being a Fuente Sun grown "Freak", I was hesitant to try another blend like the Hemingway. I'm all laid back enjoying this guy and the heat on my fingers force me to "let it go". I did not think the "Sun grown" had an equal but the Hemingway matches the Flavor and Aroma and I never even had to relight or "touch" it up. I highly recommend this beauty! JS

All due respect NOT worth the price and here's why

I could have gotten a bad stick, but not worth the price tag. With all due respect to the A.Fuente name I took the cigar out of the celo and noticed a patch job on the wrapper as if the roller had a hole in the wrapper and instead of making it a 'second' they sold it at full price. If the band didn't say A.Fuente on it, this cigar would be selling in the $4 range. There are better out there for less. Perhaps just a bad one but the quality control was bad on this one.

Hemingway Classic - is all that and more!

What a truly fantastic cigar! I've been smoking for about 20 years (since loooong before the "cigar boom"), and I tend toward maduros. The A. Fuente Hemingway Classic is exactly that: A Classic Cigar. This is a medium-bodied smoke, not a full smoke like my maduros. But, this cigar has an intriguing complexity to satisfy the experienced Afficionado, and just plain delicious flavor that even a beginner will enjoy immensely. The cigar itself is lovely to look at, and perfect on the draw. It has a good, even burn and produces a firm, lovely ash. And the aroma... It is like perfume, but not sweet. With plenty of luscious smoke, the Hemingway Classic produces the kind of rich, friendly aroma that will make a woman want to curl up and stay. I highly recommend keeping a few of these around for all occasions. This is the kind of cigar you can give to anyone, experienced or beginner, and have a great smoke together. Absolutely wonderful!

Aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh!

Took up cigars a few years ago, and as I was experimenting, I always wondered about the praise for the cigar I was trying- How come no one ever mentioned the wet dog taste? Then I stumbled on the short stories, and it was sublime. Cool, rich smoke, wonderful taste. And having young kids, I can only disappear for an hour or so on the weekend, so this is the perfect Daddy-break.

Like Buttah

I picked up a couple of these babies at my local shop and I knew they would be good from the other AF Hemingway reviews I've seen. But I had no idea that they were this good. Wonderful smooth, rich creamy flavor from beginning to end. The burn was even and consitent throughout. The draw got a little tight halfway through but a slight extra clip fixed that. The taste easily overrides any negative. I recommend highly. Can't wait till FSS gets some in online.

My favorite shape

Awesome burn, taste, construction, this is the real deal. I usualy prefer a little fuller body smoke but this has plenty of taste. I also prefer this shape to the other hemingways. One thing it says these are five inches but I put some on a tape and it says 4.5". Don't let the smaller sizes scare you this is an easy 40 minute smoke. The only problem is keeping my dad and brother away from my stash!

Not short on flavor!

Spicy, leathery and notes of sweet ceder all in a short smoke! Very complex for the size. The draw and burn were excellent with a rich head turning aroma.

Hate to Disagree

I hate to disagree with all of these glowing reviews. I hope that because mine is the only bad one that I got a dud at the store. Mine was very hard to draw even after the foot opened up. It only started to get easier about half way through the cigar. By that time the taste had been ruined. I'll try another if I run across any more.

So dry the wrapper came off

Less than a week after receiving a long awaited box of afhw three of us were going to have an Easter smoke. All three were dry but mine was to the extent that the entire wrapper turned loose. After waiting over two months, this is not what I expected from AF

Just pulled out one of these beauties from hiding and had a super fine smoke. I can't believe the pleasure. Why can't I get these to smoke all the time?

Irresistible

An unbelievable smoke. I loved it from beginning to end. I only wish I had bought more. Sadly, I only have one left. This is the best AF that I've tried.

One of my favorites.

I only smoke these on special occasions and when I can relax and savor the experience. It's woody with a nutty flavor, perfect draw. Overall, one of the best smokes I've had in my three years of smoking. You should try some...if you can find them.

A Legendary Smoke

The Hemingway Best Seller is a classic. A truly enjoyable smoke from start to finish. Just like the Short Story, this cigar is one of the best "everyday" cigars I have found and one of my all-around favorites. Sure, I?d never turn down a Padron 1926 or Anniversary Maduro (when I can get them), but I have never been disappointed with this fine, fine cigar.

The Old Man and the Sea - and a box of these!

This is such an incredible little cigar....I find myself tempted to inhale like a cigarette....like its big brother - Best Seller - this is a staple in my box.

Simply the Best

The fact of the matter is all A.Fuente cigars are good. After a long hard day at the office, I come home eat dinner and sit down with a glass of red wine and a beloved Hemingway Classic. There is nothing more enjoyabe. The draw, the burn, the aroma, the construction, and the taste are unbeatable. I love it. Simply the BEST!

Don't be fooled by the size

Wow, a big bang in a small package! This is every bit as enjoyable as the Hemmingway Classic. Wonderful flavor, burn, draw and finish. DO NOT stop at the label or you are going to miss final excellence. This is good for a cold winter evening smoke. You must give it a try.

Work of art!

These cigars are a work of art- both for the taste and the construction. These are incredibly complex for being so short. They live up to their name and reputation. Not an everyday cigar for me, but I have a couple in the humi for those special short smokes.

This review was written about Arturo Fuente Short Story 5 Pack by Eric D. of Maryland on September 25, 2006

Great Experience

I bought two of these and stored them in the humidor for about 90 days. One of my cigar buddies and I tried them out the other night and we both agree that it's a tasty well built cigar. The 60 minute experience with this cigar was memorable. It's a little pricey compared to some but worth it.

Excekent burn, smooth taste. The best of the Hemmingway line.

A wonderful cigar

I tried this cigar while at the Casa Fuente cigar bar in the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. What a great cigar! Beautiful draw and burn. Great flavors of wood, spice with a hint of berry. These are a must have in my humidor now.

Heaven on earth

This is one of the most enjoyable cigars I've ever smoked. I usually smoke curchill or pyramid size so this isn't my normal size. the ash holds on like crazy and the whole cigar is sublime. Sitting in the jacuzzi smoking this cigar is as close to heaven as you can get ( of course with your favorite beverage).

An appropriately named smoke...

This appropriately named short cigar is one beautiful, rich, velvety smoke- the aroma alone was enough to send me to cigar heaven. My first experience with the Fuente Hemingway line- I never thought they'd be able to beat the Don Carlos, but they indeed seem to have done so! If only they weren't so hard to find!

Great Cigar

I just tried one of these cigars at the Casa Fuente Cigar Bar in the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas and it was wonderful. This just may have become my new favorite cigar.

WOW

I got my hands on a box of signatures. What an amazing cigar. Went to Casa Fuente at Cesar's, had a masterpiece, forbidden X, many opus X's, God of Fire, none of which was nearly as good as the signature (Also had excellent coffee, smoked a purchase, and oggled the hostess at Casa Fuente--go if you can) I have renewed respect for Hemingway's, expecially the signature and classic. They are truly complete and satisfying, subtle yet strong with incredible flavor that builds. Life is good!

Size really DONT matter!

Amazing. In a single word. One of the top 5 cigars I have had the pleasure of smoking. Unique shape only adds to the allure of this smoke. They have all burned smoothly and all have a great taste and smooth draw. Just the right size IMO for an anytime smoke that you can really enjoy, and not an anytime smoke that you just have to tolerate. My only complaint is availability!

A Rare Treat

Arturo Fuente has a winner with the Hemingway line- they are flawlessly constructed, have a unique shape, and have a wonderful flavor all the way through. They are difficult to find, but worth the effort and not nearly as expensive as they should be!

The best for it's size!

Short story is very soothing and flavorful and is very satisfying for beginners and long time smokers. The experience of smoking short story is an unforgettable tale to tell.

The best short cigar available.

The AF Short Story is the best short cigar I've smoked. It is remarkably smooth and flavorful. When you have such a great tasting smoke, you want it to last as long as possible. The people at AF understand this, because this short tapered cigar lasts for almost an hour. Great, great smoke.

FUENTE FAMILY`S LEGACY IN TROUBLE

As a longtime Fuente smoker it saddens me to say the quality is suffering with both the Hemingway and Don Carlos lines. It`s always been a crapshoot when it comes to Hemingway Signatures as almost every box I`ve gotten over the last two years has a few sticks rolled too tight to smoke. And then the saddest news of all for me is the cigars the Fuentes these days are calling the Don Carlos Robusto. They are pathetic shells of a once BOLD, COMPLEX and well worth the money cigar, now they are CRAP!!!! I`m deeply disappointed.WAKE UP CARLITO,PEOPLE ARE GETTING FED UP SMOKING YOUR FLOOR SWEEPINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fuente's have too many irons in the fire.

Have been smoking Short Stories since 1997. Purchased a box of Short Stories in Sept. '04 and 4 were plugged...several uneven burns! Another box in March, 2005...Six of them were plugged. Quality has gone w-a-y down in last 5 years. Can't believe all the other "Rave" reviews??

The Perfect Fuente

Carlito does it again with a Great Smoke, for such a big stick the draw and construction is flawless (thanks to the twin brothers who roll this cigar) If you have a couple of hours, and can get you hands on one, please do!! (Natural Only)

This review was written about Arturo Fuente Hemingway Masterpiece by Ed D. Harvey of Seattle, WA on April 12, 2005

Oh, what is a girl to do?

Oh, I am always so torn when it comes to the Fuente Hemmingways! First, I think that perhaps other than the Padron Aniversarios (on equal footing in my book), this is my absolute most favorite cigar. My problem is that I simply adore the short story(s) - I love the feel, the look, the shape, the smooth texture, and most of all, the quality of the smoke, which is luxurious. My quandary lies in the fact that its name reveals all - it's a short story, which most times is very satisfying, but often I find that I want a bigger one for its staying power - oh what is a girl to do? Short Story or the Masterpiece? Oh well, no matter how much tequila I have with my Hemingway tonight, I doubt I'll come to any conclusion other than to continue recommending these fine cigars that I love so much in all shapes and sizes!

Taste like a fine morning sunrise

I liked the taste right after the light. I kept these in my humidore surrounded by spanish cedar out of several other cigar boxes. I lit one up one morn ing with my coffee, as I watched the sunrise on the horizon. If this is heaven I want to go there!

A GREAT QUICK SMOKE . SMOOTH TASTY

Always great-- a favorite

Hemingways have been a favorite of mine for years. I have 10 in my humidor waiting for a special occasion. My only complain is that they can sometimes have a tight draw. I prefer these to OpusX.

This review was written about Arturo Fuente Hemingway Best Seller by Mike of Detroit on March 27, 2004

Good smoke, tough draw.

I really like the shape and construction of this smoke. Taste is good, not great. I have tried 3 cigars out of two differant boxes and they were all hard to draw. Maybe they need humidor time?

This review was written about Arturo Fuente Short Story by Ike Brown of Deadwood, Dakota Ter. on February 13, 2004

The whole line is good!

I tend towards liking full flavor Nicaraguan sticks, so I consider this an excellent mild/med. stick. It is flavorfull enough though that it will stand on it's own merits any time of day. I like to keep a box on hand for regular rotation with the Nic. sticks. I have often opened the humidor with a particular Nic. in mind and ended up with one of these instead. I've never 2nd guessed myself after one, they always hit the spot.

A fine smooth smoke. Very consistant - draw could be slightly easier.

Excellent Smoke!

The Hemingway line is an amazing line of cigars. The Best Seller became my everyday smoke after the first one. I'm typically an AVO and Ashton smoker and appreciated the extra flavor the Hemingway had to offer. These are terrific cigars and I recommend them to anyone looking for something with a bit more flavor.

Outstanding!

I have been smoking Hemingways for about 9 years, and have never been disappointed. The classic and short story are my favorites. Outside of Montecristo #2 (Cuba), Cohiba Espendido and robusto (Cuba), and anything Padron...these are the best cigars on the planet.

Short Story...incredible

Being a fan of more mild cigars (Ashton's, Macanudo's, etc.), I wasn't so sure if I'd like the Hemingway line. But i gave it a shot based on these reviews (also everyone I've ever asked loves these). This is an EXCELLENT cigar: medium bodied, extremely relaxing, soo smooth (not harsh at all), huge draw, great flavor, and awesome aroma. I made the Short Story last an entire hour, and it only ashed once! I'm definitely gonna try more of the Hemingway line. Hemingway's will make great gifts (especially the Masterpiece or Work of Art-if you can find it)!

This review was written about Arturo Fuente Short Story by Allen of Tennessee on August 3, 2003

HANDS DOWN this is the best cigar I've ever smoked. The draw was awesome. The burn was very even and this had a good flavor. You cannot go wrong with this cigar.

WORTH THE PRICE

THE HEMINGWAY SIGNATURE WAS A GREAT SMOKE FOR ME. THE FLAVOR WAS GOOD, CONSTRUCTION WAS EXCELLENT, THE BURN WAS PERFECTLY EVEN, AND THE DRAW WAS SMOOTH AND EASY. MORE EXPENSIVE THAN MY USUAL SMOKES, BUT WORTH EVER PENNY.

This review was written about Arturo Fuente Hemingway Signature by DAVE of OHIO on July 31, 2003

Very Disapointed

I don't know what went wrong. First of all, the draw was horrible. I couldn't get any smoke, it was too much work to smoke this cigar. The construction was also below par. I can't imagine how this happened to a cigar of this price, I am reluctant to try another one.

When you are in the mood for a great cigar and don't want to gamble with something new....I also go to a Fuente Hemingway Signature.....the flavor, construction and burn will never leave you wanting! Its a great "go to" cigar when you are in a serious mood to enjoy one.

poor burn and construction

Was so looking forward to this little gem from what I'd heard, but was very disappointed due to the construction and burn. About midway through thing started to canoe on me and also started to unravel. Did I just happen to get a dud? Seems this cigar is a bit overrated in the quality dept. No complaints about the flavor and body though!

My favorite non-cuban

The Hemingway Signature is consistently my favorite non-Cuban smoke. Always a good draw, taste and construction. I find that the Classic tends to have construction/unravelling problems but have not seen this in the Signature.

This review was written about Arturo Fuente Hemingway Signature by Brian of New Hampshire, USA on March 27, 2002

Very good short smoke

The wrapper is a pleasant dark tan color with a smooth shape. The burn was even, with less than 5mm variance around the foot. Long, pleasant finish. A good to very good smoke, would smoke again.

A perfect little Perfecto

Absolutely one of the best cigars I have ever smoked! This little perfecto is medium bodied but full of flavor from start to finish. Don’t stop at the band, this little gem can be enjoyed to the very end.

Relaxing

Great cigar!! I had my first one today sitting on my deck to take a break from the hubb bubb. This one starts out great with a mild peppery taste with a small hint of spice and leather. It packs a punch but it is not in any way harsh. There was lots of full body smoke that was truely relaxing. The end is like the begining and I pulled the band off to finish it!!! This one is one not to rush. It is my favorite cigar for that special get away from the rush of things time A+++

"Just like a good book, you hate to have it end."

"If you love the Hemingway Short Story, you're gonna love this smoke. Just a bit longer than the Short Story and just as tasty. A well built attractive little cigar that starts out pleasant and mild. As you get midway through this little gem, the flavor has built to a meaty medium strength smoke. Leathery and nutty with just a hint of spice. It never loses it's creamy and full rounded flavor. Go ahead and smoke it down to the band. Delicious. One of my favorites. Great with a nice single malt, or perhaps on a trout stream.

Since 1992, this cigar has been simply the best. Every one of the hundreds I have smoked has been even burning, great tasting, not bitter and possessed of construction that lets one pleasurably smoke them down to the nub. Truly a masterpiece of consistency.

The Arturo Fuente Hemingway Classic

Mmmm...this cigar indeed would live up to the expectations of Mr. Ernest Hemingway. It is an excellent cigar, well-made and very tasty. It has a very woody and nutty flavour to it, burns very nicely, and leaves you wanting another right away. The aroma it leaves is very pleasant and subtle. I might go and have another right now...that is if I would have purchased more.
