General Honduran Bundles Cigars

I'm not telling anyone!

I'm not gonna tell anyone how fantastic this one is I'll keep it all to myself, thank you! But when this cigar hit my lips I could hear Leon Redbone singing "You've Got A Friend In Me"! Consistency thou art a jewel and this one is consistent! Even burn easy draw, great taste - mild but tasty - and just look at the price!

Nothing like Punch After Dinner

The Jury's Still Out....

It's a decent smoke for the price. Good draw and burn, well constructed. Looking forward to seeing how they age!

Excellent Smoke - Excellent Price!

Great cigar! I have purchased a couple of bundles and have been very satisfied! With the exception of a few that have been hard to draw, the remaining were very good. Construction good, burns even and tastes somewhat like a Hoyo Corona with a rich flavor and a hint of spice. This is now my nightly smoke while winding down before bed! Gonna buy a few more bundles so that they may "rest" in the humidor a while.

Will Buy Again

Nice feel, good construction, long, white & tight ash, nice flavor, even burn. Firm, enjoy when playing poker for a quick smoke about 15 to 20 mins. I am ordering more today.

All this hogwash about such and such a cigar is made at the same factory as such and such other cigar... well, THIS cigar is proof positive that such talk is a red flag, and that the name dropping, wanna be, pretend to be cigar is actually crap.... and tastes NOTHING like the names being dropped. At least they're not plugged... I give them that. Not much else can be said.

Terrible

I have "tried" to smoke four of these from the bundle so far. Even with a draw poker I could not get any draw on the first 3, and the fourth I got some smoke but it was like sucking on a straw. Took way to much energy to even try to smoke these. Wrapper felt dirty and it unwound very quickly. I couldn't even tell you if the cigar had any flavor. These are the worst cigars I have bought from Famous Smoke Shop in the past 6 years. Save your money, try something else.

Not bad for the Price

For an everyday smoke not too bad. Ash was a bit weak, cigar overall is a little soft, draw is easy but can make it a bit hot if your not careful, burn was very even, strength medium and flavor a bit acidic tasting toward the end.

Take your time and Let um Age a little

First off this is a good value but i'm gonna try the #54s to save a few bucks. I love this cigar. It's perfect for knockin around the house and light enough to smoke back to back. Not quite as good as the Excalibur #3 but taste is close. Lt and creamy with hints of spice and clean finish. It will get a little harsh if you don't leave it in the humi for over a month or if you try to smoke it like your linda lovelace. Not that I do that sort of thing. Well anyway let it cool, and let it age, good value.

I love these cigars!!

I love these cigars! I've bought several bundles (from Famous-Smoke and local stores). With very few exceptions, all have burned well and I love the spicy taste and aroma. They have become my favorite "everyday" smoke, and I prefer them to a number of much costlier cigars I've tried. Really a good, low cost maduro.

YUCK!

I bought 4 singles, intrigued by where they are made. The first one tasted like a Sharpie marker, second one tasted like a turd dipped in turpentine, third and fourth ones went in the trash.

We were meant for each other!

Bought a couple singles (#61 Toro Natural) three months ago and kept them humidified. Lucky for me it was a still evening because the aroma of this cigar was so wonderful that I wanted to savor every last molecule of smoke! It burned evenly and steadily, never hot or acrid. The original ash stayed on till 1 3/4", which ties the record with an Avo a few months back. (Not that this matters at all, but after 1 1/4", my curiosity will not let me give it up.) I really, really enjoyed this cigar, and am happy to know now that there's an affordable cigar out there that is everything I'm looking for.

Excellent everyday smoke!!

Very satisfying cigar. Excelent construction and even burn. I keep coming back to them even with much pricier cigars in the humidor.

Relax "After Dinner" and be pleased as "Punch"

I bought a bundle of the #63's on the auction site a while back and was surprised at the quality of the smokes right out of the bundle. I did a little research on the factory and unusual size and came up with the title of this review. Having over 500 premium sticks in storage in my various humidors whenever I return to one of these fine maduros it is a revelation. It is a mellow yet full bodied spicy smoke selling here at a fraction of the price it deserves being sold for. I usually do not smoke this ring size and length but somehow it really works for this blend. It is as enjoyable as some of the finest of the type and from now on some of these will always be in my inventory.

Good value for the price

These are good everyday smokes. One was plugged but haven't had problems with the rest. The flavor has improved with time spent (several week) in the humidor.

Perfect.

I recently purchased a bundle of Maduro No. 10 General Honduran. I was pleasently surprised. each Puro's appearence and construction were perfect. I let the puros age about six months in my humidor and then I broke the seal. They were wonderful. The flavor of the smoke was gentle on the tongue and had the perfect blend of mild earthy notes and the rich tobacco flavor of the old country. I have smoked almost every brand out there and this cigar was unbelievable for the price. The purr of the smoke kept me drawing on the stick until the bundle was gone. If you need an everyday value and a flavorful cigar that wont break the bank buy a bundle of the General Honduran. I smoke these everyday and thanks to Famous I can do that without spending an arm and a leg!

Hit or Miss

I bought these upon Lisa's recommendation. I struck it rich with one bundle since the sticks were just like smoking an Excaliber #1! The other bundle was very poorly constructed and was not a bargain at any price. So Buy em but be wary!

OK

I smoked two of these so far. Had high expectations for a cheap cigar so I bought several of them. Wrapper seems a little dirty when taking a drag. Flavor comes and goes. Lasts a long time. I'd rather spend a little more money and get a cigar I really enjoy instead of smoking one because I got a good deal on it.

Very fine cigar for the money..draw varies

My favorite of all time is the Punch Chateau L. maduro double oscuro. While these aren't that good, for the money they are killer. Unfortuantely, the draw can vary bundle to bundle and within bundles and that can really put a real crimp in enjoying these basically fine cigars. For the price a definite try for any maduro fanciers.

Better than most at a quarter the price!

It was hard to belive that all they would do is remove the ring, take 'em outa da box and sell you Excal #1's at half price...I rated Excal #1 as one of the smoothest best tasting (medium strength) easy drawing cigars I have ever had and are among my regular smokes. Well I am a true beliver now, I have compared the bundlearos with the boxed and have had several friends do the same...some actually liked the bundle version better! Only Cuba snobs would not appreciate this excellent cigar at fire sale prices!

Dropped

Lack of consistency & quality has forced me to remove it from my list of favorites. Construction, draw & burn are my complaints. Taste still good. Personal value reduced.

Outstanding flavor and construction + value.

A well made cigar. Smooth draw from start to finish. Excellent flavor and aroma. My friends ask where they can get these.

Be Aware, Natural Bundle is not Connecticut Shade

The Honduran Bundle #59 is described as seconds of the Hoyo de Monterrey Excalibur #1. The natural color bundle I got had a darker wrapper than the Connecticut Shade I was expecting. I tried one and it did not get the taste I expected. Called Famous, they said this is the way the Bundles now come to them. To their credit, they offered to give me a full refund.

Great Honduran Cigar

Bought the Excalibur #1 Natural bundle a short time ago and made a great choice. I've shared this cigar with a few comrades and the compliments flowed. Good long burn (1.5 hours), great full bodied taste, very smooth. Pull up a bar stool, order a Black-N-Tan, and light one up. Then order another, you won't be leaving for a while.

Great Value - Smooth Smoke

Very smooth smoke for a Honduran. Consistant burn and ash. This baby is a hog and requires quite a commitment (1 1/2 hr) but well worth it. Good golf cigar. Smokes smooth down to the last 2". I've smoked the 1st and 2nd and can't really tell the difference except for an occasional water spot. 2nds are a great value at $1.55 ea. Bought a bundle last Thursday and have had 4 already.
