Great smoke at a great price. I'd pay more but I'm glad I don't have to.

This review was written about Indian Tabac Super Fuerte Petite Belicoso by Joe of Keuka Lake NY on November 26, 2008

Incredible!

I actually had the Super Fuerte Maduro Pressed. All I can say is GAHDDAHMN! The only thing I can compare it to is a Gurkha Regent Torpedo (pressed). The flavor was delicious, from start to band-finish. Rich, choclatey, nugatey, creamy, voliminous smoke. I saw people complaining about draw/construction. Did not notice ANY flaws in either category. If you have a 70/70 humi then it will draw like heaven (punched) and burn evenly; 2 inches of ash before my dog bumped it off. BUY THIS CIGAR. (b4 they sell out, increase price, or stop making them)!

dissapointed

i wish i'd tried a five sampler first but trusted the Rocky Patel hype. I feel the same about these as the Bahia B-Line = dissapointed. But we live n learn .

Good Smoke

Surprisingly good for the price....Like it !

Inconsistent

I know I already did a review of these, but I wanted to add that they can be a bit inconsistent. When they're good, they're great. When they're not so good, well, they're still enjoyable. I recently was in Vancouver, and smoked a Ramon Allones Specially Selected. When I got home, the first cigar I smoked was one of these, and to be honest, they were pretty damn similar tasting to me. Of course, YMMV, but for what it's worth, it's a damn good bargain. I think the RA I smoked in Vancouver cost me $25. The IT cost me a little over $2.

Deal or No Deal

I tried these a year or so ago and I was very pleased with the construction and taste. I picked up a couple of bundles on auction and was really looking forward to sharing a great cigar with me friends. Glad I tried them before I shared. At first glance it looks well made with a nice bouquet. On first light nice flavor, great taste. Half way burns into limbs, sticks or whatever, scoops, harsh taste and then goes out. Out of the 10 I have tried all had to re-lit at least 6 to 7 times and I have filled my torch lighter twice. Now the remaining 40 are just wasting space in my humidor. To bad for RP, as it seems he has lost caring about what is being sold and the quality of what has his name on it. It seems most of the RP line is slipping. Bring back the good old days RP. Take care of your customers.

My go-to smoke

This is my #1 go-to smoke. Excellent construction, great taste, very consistent. I'd stack these babies up against smokes costing twice the price. If you like a medium bodied cigar, do yourself a favor and TRY THESE. You can thank me later.

Decent flavor but lousy construction

I've ordered a few bundles when I could get a good price from auction or Cigar Monster. Decent flavor, but everyone has a loose draw and uneven burn. Not bad, but not worth more than $25.00 a bundle.

Fantastic cigar for the price

What a great cigar! Even better with a little time on them. Smooth with great taste.

great smokes

indian tabac super fuerte corona's are a definite must-try. they aren't going to best a cohiba black, but for what they cost, they can give the cohiba a run for its money in the overall category. perfect burn all the way through, never loses its great taste (you will smoke this one down to the nub), perfect draw, etc... the corona's stand head and shoulders above the belicoso for the same brand. smaller ring gauges are obviously the key to this brand. try it - you won't be disappointed. it's a milder maduro, but packed with a great flavor nonetheless (being mild doesn't mean that flavor's sacrificed imo). smooth, creamy smoke, with the right amount of earthiness..

This review was written about Indian Tabac Super Fuerte Corona 5 pack by bishop of MA on June 21, 2008

not bad

the corona's are definitely better, but the belicoso isn't too bad either. hands down, this is a far better smoke than an olivia series g - which tends to be around the same price-range. it's on the milder side of maduro, perfect and consistent burns all the way through. only difference between the belicoso and corona is that this one tends to get fairly bitter towards the last half - while the corona stays great all the way down to the nub. this is a great smoke so long as you can get it for no more than $2.75.

Better than expected

Just received them and smoked one right out of the box. Draw was perfect, burn was above-average, a pleasantly somewhat spicy flavor, medium+ body. RP quality construction at a much cheaper price. Looking forward to smoking more after they age in the humi for a few months

This review was written about Indian Tabac Super Fuerte Robusto by RobW of Fresno, CA on June 20, 2008

better than expected

Bought these on a Monster Deal and was pleasantly surprised for the price. Mine began unraveling a bit and i had to relight it once but Dads smoked perfectly some maybe I just had a fluke? Looking forward to smoking more to find out. Will definately look for them again on the Monster Deal.

Great smoke, great wrapper, great cigar

Not much of a box press is right! But there are tones of caramel and rich tasty tobacco. Smokes well, does not come apart when you take the band off! All and all a great cigar for the money!

This review was written about Indian Tabac Super Fuerte Robusto by Kent of Tolland, CT on June 13, 2008

I like these....

I bought a box of the natural robustos, and I'm pretty impressed. It's true that they're not real "boxy" for a press, but other than that, they're very nice looking cigars with a good draw. Their flavor is not nearly as strong as you'd think from the name, but is's pretty nice with flavors of caramel and leather. I like them with coffee. I'm all about good values, and this is one!

Great smooth smoke

These are great smooth smoking cigars that are consistant from cigar to cigar. I haven't found one yet that didn't burn and draw well. I have made them one of my favorite everyday cigars.

Would still be a good cigar at a higher price

I just finished one of these. Dark and full-bodied, they're one of those finger burners. They'd be perfect if they were a little fuller, but they're certainly a go-to cigar.

Great Bundle = Money Saving = Great Taste

well what can i say the first thing that grabbed me about the bundle was it's name. knowing alittle about the brand and knowing it came from rocky patel my luck seemed good. just like it's boxed counterparts flavor , draw , burn , etc , was on and the price you can't beat. do yourself a favor try some

BETTER THAN MOST FOR THE MONEY

WON A BUNDLE,AFTER THREE DAYS IN THE HUMI LIT ONE UP NICE DRAW,TASTE OF CARAMEL WITH A LITTLE LEATHER THROWN IN. THE BOX PRESS ISNT SO BOXIE, AND THE WRAPPER LOOKED A LITTLE SPOTTY. ALL TOLD FOR THE PRICE ITS BETTER THAN MOST. I WILL BUY THEM AGAIN.

Famous description is right on

Kevin of Chicago must be referring to the Maduro, but I have smoked several of those and the Naturals, and I find these cigars have a marked, creamy sweetness that sets them apart (not better, just different and slightly milder) from the Vintage line. I've never had a bad RP cigar, although I don't care for his Cuban blend. These are great for smokers who prefer milder cigars, but occasionally crave something stronger. They are very smooth.

This review was written about Indian Tabac Super Fuerte Robusto by Jerry of Connecticut on June 15, 2007

You should avoid these

I didn't like these sticks at all. While they do have a nice wrapper, and the filler is good quality, these just give constant problems. Avoid box pressed cigars. These were hard to light, and hard to get a good draw. Just not worth the price. There are so many better values out there.

Not Bad

Very pleasantly pleased with this cigar. Nice construction, lots of smoke and the flavor was, well lets say I would buy this one again. Try it!

May be too complex for my simpler tastes

Fairly good taste, but I was not as impressed as other reviewers have been. Hard to keep lit and burn was irregular. Probably won't reorder, but won't relegate to give-aways, either.

Affordable alternative to the " R.P.vintage 92"

Unmistakable Rocky Patel flavor, burn, and nose. Very little differance for those of you that smoke the R.P.vintage line regularly as I do,you will notice that same nutty, woody complexity as the 92s the start up is strong but settles very quickly into very complex smoke with very hearty flavors. Not for macanudo smokers! But not over powering. If you have smoked the Indian Tabac classic line and hated them as I do(taste like cigarettes)this fuerte line is a whole different smoke! A must try for two a day puffers like me.

Not worth the trouble

First impression is what a beautiful & great smelling cigar. Not so fast. After lighting, aroma is great, but taste is so-so, and the burn very uneven. Impossible to keep lit. Had a 5-pack & all burned the same.

2 boxes wasted!!

I ordered two boxes from Famous Smoke and got around to smoking them after the 30 day return period. I kept them at proper temp and humidity levels. Unable to smoke them because they wouldn't draw - even after using a draw poker!! Calls and emails to the manufacturer went unanswered. Will never buy again.

Ugh!

I would very much like to review this cigar, but I got a double hernia trying to extract some smoke from this lemon. Without a doubt the poorest drawing cigar that I have ever had the displeasure of smoking. Just glad that I didn't give it to a friend... I would have made an enemy for life

Pretty Darned Good Cigar

I've always enjoyed what I consider to be a creamier quality I get with Maduros, and these didn't disappoint. They're a little stronger than I'm used to (I'm still fairly new, and experimenting), but not overly so. The wrapper is a luxurious and even dark brown. The draw is phenominal, and these have a nice even burn

Rebuttal in defense of Indian Tabac SF

An excellent cigar that offers tons of smoke, chocolate and spice tastes, and a burn that is even, if worked properly, (meaning...that's all part of the cigar smoker's experience now isn't it?) If it canoes, you're smoking the damn thing too fast...everybody knows that! As for the "Worst Cigar Ever", why don't you cut back on your humidity a bit....or buy a better humidor...sounds like you've gottem swollen with moisture !!!!

Great intro into maduro

I too, got this in a sampler. As a novice cigar smoker, I was a bit leary of this 'darkly colored' cigar. Thinking it would be heavy and too harsh for my likeing, I kept it shoved to the back of my humidor for the better part of 2 months. But today, I have the day off and thought I would give it a shot. Very nice cigar that has alot more taste that my typical cigars that I go with. Not harsh in the slightest, burn is a bit un-even as others have pointed out. Flavor is not overpowering. I will buy this cigar again.

Amazing Cigar

Stationed in Afghanistan we went through quite a few cigars-one of our only luxuries-smoked many different brands and strengths. Got the Indian Tabac as a freebie with a travelling humidor. Wow! Became our favorite. Nutty, chewy, spicy, all those words fit this cigar. Haven't seen one come close to the taste and flavor at this price. A winner! Great job RP.

This review was written about Indian Tabac Super Fuerte Robusto by Steve of Over There on September 3, 2006

Tasty!!!

What a Fine Cigar! For a full flavor cigar, the taste is suprisingly mild. With it's dark oily wrapper and thick flavorful smoke, it's nice easy draw, once lit, I smoked it down to the last inch and hated to give it up. I won't hesitate to buy these again!!!!

A good smoke

This is a good smoke. Lots of flavor, good construction, decent draw. It smokes great as received which seems to be untypical today. Bought a box and have smoked 5. Want to save some to age a bit, but not sure that I can hold back. Everybody has their own tastes, But I prefer these to RP Vintage. Comparable in quality to AF double chateau for a whole lot less money. Try them!

All Around great!

This smoke started off incredibly well. Some issues though existed with the burn, and the cigar had a tendency to canoe halfway through, and the ash was very loose, and dropped off in under an inch. However, the flavor and aroma of this hearty cigar made up for any burn issues that existed. Starting off very smooth, this cigar produces ample smoke, and a robust aroma, while maintaining cool and mellow smoke. Towards the tail end, the smoke became more earthy, and reflected tastes of chocolate and carmel. Did not want to put this cigar down!

This review was written about Indian Tabac Super Fuerte Corona by Andrew S. of San Mateo, CA on July 8, 2006

Excellent!

Wow! This is my favorite smoke, by far. I received one of these in a sampler of maduros and was sold within three puffs. The wrapper is dark and oily and looks delicious, and the pre-lit aroma smells of chocolate and coffee - just as you expect from a good maduro. Upon lighting, the burn is good and the ash is solid and a light gray. The construction is a little inconsistent, requiring an occasional correction on some sticks. Once this baby warms up, the flavor is incredible. Slightly sweet with the same flavors as its pre-lit aroma. For the money, this cigar is one that I will stock my humidor with for a long time. Every maduro lover should try one!

Best Premium for the Price!

This is one great cigar! I've smoked many "premium" cigars over the years...Cuban Cohibas, Montes, Hoyos...some of the best "legals", Opus X, Padrons, Hemingways, etc. Don't tell Rocky Patel, but I'd gladly fork over 5x the price for this smoke! The maduro petite belicoso reminds me why I started smoking cigars 20 years ago. Rich tobacco. Excellent construction. Consistency. Delicious...period. At this price, it's my new every day smoke. Amazing for any price. If maduros are your thing...you can't pass this stick up.

A steal when you want a man's cigar.

It's simple. Throughout the boom we saw tons of different styles and tons more of the same old thing. It took this upstart Rocky to make a cigar that doesn't make you feel like the old man on the golf course without resorting to gimmick smokes. Taste way overcomes any burn problems, but all box-pressed sticks have similar issues. I'm sick of shelling out large dollars for weak stogies. I'm happy to throw down 3 bills for a box of IT hercules cigars and even happier to see FS finally throw that extra deal in to get me to switch suppliers. A caveat however: in bone dry Tucson, a tight, difficult burn and tough draw cigar means a cigar that stays moist. Burning anything longer than 6" will dry out and unravel before you're done smoking it. Smiles and smoke to all.

Overall a decent smoke w/some burn issues.

Got one of these in a sampler, so my review is from only one try. Overall I thought it was a pretty good cigar, medium to full strength, but not one that I would search out to purchase. Taste was good, but it canoed a couple of times. In this price range, I'd go with an Oliva Grand Cameroon instead ~ don't look as good, but taste better.

Overated

Have tried to smoke 4 out of 5 given to me by a friend. Beautiful wrapper with notes of chocolate. However the burn on all 4 so far has been terribly uneven & very hard to keep lit. Not worth the trouble.

This review was written about Indian Tabac Super Fuerte Toro by Ben K. of Monroe,LA on December 20, 2005

Mixed blessing

This Petit Belicoso maduro was good/bad. It looks great, lit easily and stayed lit through a slow smoking, drew well, and had lots of mild/mellow taste. On the downside, it had a marked tendency to "canoe" and its' taste has a slight "metallic" tinge to it that went to the back of the throat from the first few puffs. Due to the "canoe" facet, I was able to smoke it to only about 2.25 in. before it became hot and started to get bitter. That may/may not be too bad for a torpedo-shaped gar but I expected better. Want to underscore that even though the taste was not my personal favorite, this cigar produced plenty of taste so anyone who likes the taste will be well pleased. I think this is just one of those cigars you just have to try for yourself. Because the taste is so ample yet so even I have to believe a lot of people would like this cigar a lot.

This review was written about Indian Tabac Super Fuerte Petite Belicoso by Jim Moore of Central Florida on August 14, 2005

Not Great

I just didn't care for this. The draw was okay, but the burn was incredibly uneven. The construction was awful and the wrapper kept coming off. I thought the flavor was one-dimensional and boring. Ultimately, this is not something I will smoke again.

Good cigar for the price

I have smoked several boxes of this cigar, and every one has been a pleasure. So far, I have not had a bad burner or hard smoker yet. Good full flavor from start to finish.

Bipolar smoke

I've had a couple of these that ranked among the best smokes I've ever had...Then a few more with all the problems folks have complained about here. After the first few I actually ordered a box in exchange for a box of Henry Clays I had received as a gift through Famous. Famous, in the first customer service gaffe I've ever experienced or even heard of from it, couldn't successfully arrange for a pick-up of the Clays, so I ended up smoking them. Given the quality of those I've had recently (individuals from Famous and a local tobacconist) I'm kind of glad the exchange got botched.

The worst cigar ever!!!

This is, be the worst cigar that I have ever smoked. From the beginning to the end of this box every single cigar had a horrible burn and draw. They were only consistant in the fact that they were all horrible. As a subscriber to Cigar Aficionado I can't believe that they gave it such a high rating! I couldn't put these down for five seconds without having to re-light and even out the burn. If I wanted to work this hard doing anything I would have stayed married. Stay away from these!

Total Enjoyment

I generally flip-flop between a maduro and natural stick. As for this maduro I must say it is an enjoyable stick all the way to the end. My only complaint is that the bands are to wide.

Tremendous !!!

Indian Tabac Super Fuerte is a super cigar. The flavor is great and I also prefer the box pressed cigar over standard round. Recently gave a couple to my brother and now he's buying them by the box, too.

Good Intro to Full-flavored

I'm a new smoker, less than 1 year. Got the stick in a sampler pack, and though I like mild-to-medium Hondurans best, this one is a good move-up. I probably won't run out and buy a box next week, but I will try it again after I've been smoking for a while. Nice even burn, lotsa smoke, and I had to sit down to finish it!

Strong Good Cigar w/ a slight bite towards the end

I enjoyed the cigar which I purchased from a Sampler pack. I would not turn it down, but would not buy it by the box. I also don't like the feel of the box press in my mouth.

Great Smoke

Got one in a sampler pack. It sat in my humidor for about 4 weeks before I got around to smoke it. What a great surprise. It has a great full flavor that will not over power your senses. The draw was easy and consistent. The burn was very good. I will order a box as soon as I get more free space in my humidor. If you like medium / full cigars you have to try this one.

Not worth the $

The draw was about the only good quality this cigar had. Uneven burn, poor wrapper. Full flavored but no charactor or dimension to it at all. Certainly not worth the price.

A puro with some guts but easy & smooth

This is a cigar with some guts & flavor & body. I’m REALLY into full body & -F-U-L-L- flavor, so my opinion is probably a little biased (or my tastes jaded over time), but even though I'm looking for a fuller flavored smoke, this cigar definitely delivers. It might not be for the mild cigar lover. On the other hand, if you’re looking to try a fuller bodied, and fuller flavored cigar, than I would highly recommend this cigar! It goes down very easy, and is quite smooth, just about down to the nub (almost burned my fingers on it). At worst, a cigar that will not offend. At best, this is a high quality smoke that might easily become a personal favorite. Worth trying? - I would give it a definite thumbs up! ……Please let me thank the Famous team – for the great Catalogue, the great Web Site, the great deals, the great cigars, and the great store in Easton, complete with our own treasured Lisa, and her very fine apprentice Jim.
