Not for the TIMID

Websters,Timid: 1. lacking in self-assurance, courage, or bravery;
This is the real deal boys & girls, I love'um, vary smooth and flavorful, however smoke it to fast and you will pay for it.
This is a great cigar

One of the best I smoked - POWERFULL

Fantastic

Love 'Em

Great tasting, strong cigar. What's not to love? I always have them on hand.

Not for the weak!

This is a grown man smoke. Newbies steer clear, this one will put some hair on your chest. Had one with Henny VSOP and...WOW! Def recommended it as an after dinner smoke, or a long hard day leading into the weekend. Strap ya boots up tight, this one will def take u for a ride.

MY EVERYDAY FAVORITE

My everyday favorite...definetly for seasoned cigar smokers..make sure you eat first

Fantastic

I believe my search for the perfect stogie has come to an end with these babies. I've been smoking these for about a week and each one is better than the one before. Great full body flavor down to the end. Don't engage one of these on an empty stomach.

Too good

Since there was a line up of the usual characters waiting for a haircut, I asked the barber if I could take the folding chair outside in the fresh air ... (so I could fire up the Joya de Nicaragua Antano 1970 Consul burning up my pocket). As I got into it, I started to care less about the haircut, and more about enjoying this fine intense flavorful cigar along with a cup of that new/old Starbucks coffee (Pike Place brew). I was not interested in leaving that behind when my name was to be called. After getting my money's worth, I'm sure when I brought the chair back in and told the barber I'd have to try again tomorrow, he was probably wondering why I was smiling and not frowning ... that I had to wait so long and still didn't get my hair cut.

Not For Whimps!

If you think you've graduated to "big boy" cigars this stick is your final exam. Take the advice of other reviewers and put something in your stomach before firing up. I consider myself an experienced smoker and keep mainly med-full to full bodied cigars in my stock of 300-400, of which I enjoy 2-3 a day. The Gran Consul is a superbly strong, well made, and flavorful cigar and has earned permanent placement in my humidors.

Smooth, Rich, Full, and Flavorful

Man this was one great smoke; particularly considering the tremendous price! I have had great cigars, costing three times as much that were not as smooth, flavorful, and consistent as this one. These cigars just moved to the top of my list...well maybe a God of Fire is still ahead of them, but for the price I'd take this over a pricey Opus-X anyday!!

perfect cigar for a quick and pleasing smoke

Very well made burns perfectly and packed with loads of flavors such as deep wood coffee and lots of spice.

WHOA!

The increased width of this size allows for more filler and results in an incredible smoking experience. While strong in body, the flavor is exceptional.

Very nice smoke

Great burn, great taste. Don't smoke on an empty stomach

Absolutely the very best if you can handle it!

I love my full bodied smokes but was floored the first time I tried one of these babies, nothing could have prepared me for the overhwelming experience. These are by far the best of the best when it comes to full bodied smokes, just hang on and enjoy right down to the nub and be careful not to burn your fingers. A true 10 if ever I smoked one, it'll always grace my humidor!

Great! One of the BEST!

Definitely an 8 o'clock cigar and not for the faint of heart cigar smokers. This is a true classic in the best Cuban tradition. I love'm!

balanced bold big flavor

have smoked all sizes by the box and they just get better and better, magnum did have some burn issues but nothing that couldn't be fixed

Excellent!!!

I love Joya De Nicaragua cigars. I first tried one of the bigger ring gauge versions of the Antano 1970 and it actually was a little too much- beautiful, but a head spinner. These Machitos are just perfect. Its amazing, because you don't expect the flavor and "robustness" from this size. This cigar actually lasted a good 45 minutes and I probably could have gone for an hour if I had time. Everything about this cigar was right on- and the price I picked these up at auction was even better!

Geez...

This is the only cigar to ever make me physically sick. While it didn't quite make me vomit, I was nauseated and visibly shakey. I only smoked 2/3 or so of the cigar, which didn't seem to be so rough until 5 or 10 minutes after I put the cigar out. HOWEVER, it is a very beautiful, delicious, well-constructed cigar. I was ready to order a box of them until it kicked my butt. Be prepared for some heavy nicotine effects, but it is almost worth it for this fabulous cigar. Just take it easy and don't rush this one...

Disapointing

Good looks, good burn, but, a tough draw and mediocre taste. Consistent through 10 of the smokes. The rest I gave away. So, I guess it rates a 10 in consistency.

Great Look nice taste

Picked one up at a local shop at the suggestion of the owner. Enjoyed the taste and strength. personally it did not seem real strong but that is very personal. Only thing was it drew hard and for a 60 ring gauge I didn't enjoy that. I'll buy others to give them an honest try. I think you'll enjoy the flavor and aroma!

"Prime cut"

This is a truly tasty cigar, with a lot of seasoned notes, and sweet character, has a very complex, robust and spicy flavors, its like the "Prime cut" of the cigars....!!

Knock me down good

This is a very full bodied smoke and not for the timid. I love full bodied cigars and these are ranked with the best in my book. Thick tasting espresso-like, peppery, unsweetened dark chocolate, real nice aftertaste on the tongue when done with an excellent scotch. The only thing I didn't like is that the first three had to be relit a few times when smoked a little past the half mark. Could have been that I was taking my sweet time enjoying between puffs. However, solved that with a couple of weeks in my humidor, must of picked up some extra moisture before reaching me. I'll keep this on my short list of favorite cigars.

good taste

I'm smoking one right now.Very good tasting full body cigar for a low price

superb full bodied cigar

a well made tasty full bodied cigar that's not harsh. Burns well, consistently. Highly recommend this fairly priced cigar.

Blast!

Blast! I feel the need to blast these terrible cigars! Should I throw the whole box away? No, what, and give them the satisfaction of duping me? So should I give them to "friends" who don't know better? NO! because in the end I'll get the name of the guy who doesn't know his cigars. I won't give them the satisfaction; I'll smoke every bloody rotten one of them!

Best Nic Ever!

I am normally not a fan of Nicaraguan cigars, but the Antano is one big, fat exception. It doesn't have the bitter, earthy aftertaste that I've experienced with the CAOs and other Nicaraguan smokes, but is rather sweet, spicy and powerful all at the same time. I am with the other reviewers who are praying that the great price for a box of these doesn't change.

A True Jewel of Nicaragua!!

Now I know why this was Somoza's favorite brand. When these arrived the odor from the cigars was AWESOME!! I could not wait to get my hands on one, and yes they are not for the faint at heart, these require previous experience to enjoy them properly. A must have for all!!

Nice....VERY Nice!!

Lit one of these bad boys up...man, it's spicy! After about 3/4 of an inch it settled down and WOW- what a taste! I had to cut it short because of family obligations, but immediately went out and got another one. If you can handle a man's cigar, this one will blow your socks off with taste. Hint: punch this one, don't cut ;)

BoomBoom

Ha-Cha-Cha. So tasty and strong, with no let down. Only thing I don't like is that I cannot start one, cut if off and pick up again. Must have time to finish all the way through. If you are the kind of person that usually thinks the more the better when it comes to flavor, you cannot be dissatisfied.

"old school"

Smoked a few of these wonderfully constructed belicoso's & was hooked! Great depth on the taste with a full, rich, heavy body & a long lingering finish of pepper & coffee....YUM!.....

My all time Favoriate

If you like La Gloria Cubana series R, you are going to LOVE the Joya Antano line! They are a mainstay in my humidor. If you dont love these cigars email me and I will send you out some mild girlie man cigars for free....

JdN comes through again!

Well JdN and their all NIC Puros are always a spicy treat. These 1970's are a true powerhouse with smoking depth and stick quality. My box of 1970 B's went quick but what is remembered most is the awesome aroma that will have others following you like your the Pied Piper. After a hearty steak dinner the 1970 with a dark beer rounds out the perfect evening. A must try cigar with a stout body, smooth draw, even burn and spicy finish.

Joya's machito the very best full bodied cigar's .

These stronger cigars are smooth but after you get past this little machito's punch. Strong and spicy at first light but so full of taste I sometimes have two or more in one day. Machito's are a box of fifty all were consitant in flavor mabye a few gave me a burn problem no canoing just a relight. These are not stinkers and I will buy these over and over and only hope they don't double in price. I'm really glad this smoke is offered in a cuban corona size. Don't think I'll be in a hurry to try the larger ring gauge only cause I don't have that much time. Joya de nicaragua's 1970 Antono machito is one of the only cigars I'll be buying for the rest of my deployment cause I love the taste and don't need anymore mild stinker's

MY new favorite

have been a cigar smoker for over 35 years.this was a real treat. Full flavor with no bite.Great aroma and a smooth draw. A real winner...Best new cigar I hve tried in 10 years....

Make sure you're sitting down for this one!

Started off a little mild and about half way through it about knocked me down. Very peppery flavor. I had trouble keeping it lit but it was overall an excellent cigar. Can't believe the price.

Yes sir may i have another!

WOW! Picked one up the other day after i heard some fellas talkin about them. Little difficult to get lit, but once its lit hold on! A great cigar that can knock your socks off! I don't think i could smoke one everyday, but what a rush! Incredible cigar in terms of body, flavor, and burn. mmm....can't wait till i get the courage to have another.

Wonderful cigar!

After reading the reviews here, I decided to get a box of these sticks. WOW! These babies will knock your socks off if you're not prepared. I absolutely love these cigars and they are always in my humidor.

Mmm...

Truly...if you've ever had expectations of a cigar being everything you'd desire it to be-as well as it claims-this is it! Rich, full, incredibly flavorful and undoubtably one of the finest cigars delivering on every level! If your somewhat of an afficianado, you'll discover that this cigar is very much like a woman-complex, rich, filled with flavor and if your not careful...it/she can be a bit much. So be prepared.

WOW

This cigar is not for the timid! Most strong cigars do not impress me because of the lack of flavor. This cigar is packed with both. You have to try it to believe it! Excellent burn and aroma.

Great cigar

A couple of years ago, I cut myself down to 1 cigar a day, which I have with my martini when I get home from work. The winding down process is a treasured ritual, and demands a treasured cigar. This is it.

DAMN!

BOOM! This thing is like a quarter stick of dyn-o-mite. Knocked my socks off. Great taste, although, a word to the wise: Veteran smokers need only apply. Not for use amoung novices (like me) I will try another in perhaps five years when I am ready for it.

2nd strongest cigar I've had and I love them.....

The flavor of this cigar is fantastic. I love the size and shape of the Belicoso albeit a little odd. My ony complaint of the 2 boxes I've smoked is that they do not stay lit quite as well as most cigars. I had my last one from a box I bought 6 months ago and it is has a richness and a coffee bean flavor that can't be beat. It's in my top 5 of all time list and I've been smoking for 8 years and tried hundreds of cigars including Cubans when they were great.....and I haven't found a great cuban in over 3 years.

You'r not gonna believe this!!!

This cigar is the sleeper of 2003 and I'm touting it at the risk of loosing out on the great prices that they have been available at.
If you enjoy a powerhous cigar this is it. Dark, oily and intense, the Machito is everything I look for in a short smoke. I've been lucky
enough to find them for about $2.00 ea and hope that their popularity does not get to the point where the blend is compromised or the price inflated.

WORLD CLASS CIGAR

I have not found a better smoke Cuban or otherwise. It's a 10.

Bold and Beautiful

A great looking cigar. Perhaps the strongest cigar I have ever smoked. Be sure you are seated and not planning on going anywhere afterward!
