Good bundle smoke

These ain't Cuban Cohibas. What they are is a perfectly good cheap everyday cigar, in both wrappers. They taste good, they smell good, and most of the time they burn good. What more can you ask for a dollar and change?

I'm very surprised by these negative reviews.

I find the Pancho Natural to be a consistently good tasting cigar. Yes, the one negative is its uneven burn--it never tunnels on me, though. It's a trade-off: the wrapper is thick and flavorful, so I think it retains a lot of moisture--causing the uneven burn. I wish more people would say if they are referring to the Maduro or the Natural. I like them right out of the package--no aging necessary.

How to enjoy these sticks

OK, I agree with all the other reviews, this stick tastes great, but burns like hell. I was able to solve some of the burn issues, no canoe, or tunnel issues, and kept all the taste.
1. Massage the cigar. Break up any uneven pockets, or plugs.
2. Cut almost 1/2 inch off the head. I found a tough plug in the head area of most sticks.
3. Over toast the foot before lighting. Get a real even burn going at the light.
4. Don't puff agressively. Only three good puffs at the top of each minute.
5. Only ash once every 10 minutes.
6. Throw away the last inch, so as not to get the harsh smoke at the end.
My first one out of the bundle was like what all the other reviews said, flat out bad news. I have now enjoyed ten more, using the steps above, and can now saty, not bad for a buck and a half.

Very inconsistant. Tastes great, next one bad.

These cigars are initially very good, but are not consistant. They burn good, then draw poorly, burn down the side and are hot and bitter. The next one will be good. Who knows?

Give these a month in the humidor and they become an acceptable smoke. Not especially interesting, but not offensive either. You can hand them out without embarrasment.

Bad Draw stay away

I won a bundle of these cigar last year. I tried to smoke a few and wow they sucked because they had terrible draw, so I put them in the back of my humi in hopes they would get better. Nope still terrible draw.
The one thing I do have to say about these cigar, is if you poke something down the entire length of the cigar and can actually get a draw off of them the taste is great.

Serious Burn Issues

After half a bundle of the Pancho maduro I find I enjoy the flavors of this cigar, espresso, nuts, and a sweet, smooth finish. I want to like it as a cheap, daily cigar. Take the band off and it looks like a much more expensive cigar. The draw has been excellent on every one. However, the burn has been terrible; runs and tunneling are the rule not the exception. I don't get this with the other cigars in my humidor, so I don't think it's my treatment of the cigar, but I'm a newbie so that may have something to do with it. I'm going to take one out of my humidor about an hour or two before smoking and see if that helps. Perhaps the wrapper is too moist. I would love to be able to smoke these as my daily smoke; at $1.50 a stick, that would be great.

Soft, Hot, and dry finish

I shared this cigar with 9 other coaches after lunch from the same bundle. my expectations were that the cigar would be sweet and burn consistently, which didnt come close to being correct.
Virtually everyone having one had burn issues, the beginning seems to have a plug that prevents the draw from occuring, as if they were horrifically made by some new rollers. the craftsmanship is crap on these as they will not come closoe to resembling a premium cigar. They smoke like a sandwich cigar which left out some of the fullness tabacco wise. Its as if this cigar is made with less tobacco, however, after you get past the plug issue in the beginning of the smoke, it mellows out a bit then finishes very hot and dry with a heavy sour aftertaste which I completely was not epxecting. the Coaches i shared this particular bundle belicoso wont make any effort to buy this cigar again, the Mosaico's broadleaf is considerably sweeter with a much better aftertaste.
The positives for this cigar is it looks good before smoking it. It has a decent aroma and its draw is excellent once past the intial plug that occurs within the first couple of inches. A few had very large stems, remove those and the cigar gets softer and burns more easily. Do not expect a sweet tasting maduro as this cigar doesnt begin to resemble a sweet maduro, while the cigar looks like a premium, once lit up it wont begin to act like a premium. expect to have some burning issues and expect the cigar to be soft as if a less amount of tobacco was used to create the cigar as its definitely not a boxed version of any other brands, as it would be hard to find a boxed cigar that is this lousy craftasmanship wise.

A TOUGH, HOT PUFF!

THESE CIGARS ARE ROLLED TOO TIGHT. THEY MAKE FOR A VERY HARD DRAW, GET TOO HOT AND DO NOT BURN EVENLY. GUESS I'LL BE GIVING THESE TO THE GRASS CUTTERS, ALSO. THEY DO NOT COMPARE TO THE LA FLORIDITA LIMITED EDITION AT ALL. I LEARNED MY LESSON. YOU STILL ONLY GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.

Lower RH = better burn

Great cheapo cigar. I actually prefer these over Padron 000 Series maduros. You gotta store them at a lower humidity, 60%-65% for a few months and they burn much better. Flavor-wise these cigars are incredible. Cocoa and coffee with a nice tartness on the finish.

La Flordita Maduro Lonsdale

I smoked one perhaps not even two weeks after receiving them (BOGO special, so I bought one bundle of maduro and one natural). The first few puffs were like smoking hay, dry and not very flavourful. The next 10 puffs started getting sweeter and more tobacco taste was coming out. By the time I got about 1/4 of the way, the maduro richness and leathery aroma really popped up! I'm sure with a few more weeks in my humidor, the cigar won't have any problems at the start at all. Good value, good flavour, and dirt cheap!

Not Very Happy

Look, it's an inexpensive smoke and sometimes you just get what you pay for. I took in double bundles (sale deal) of the Natural and the Maduro. They both came with a loose roll and they will burn fast. You WILL get canoeing and tunneling - they smoke fast. If you can deal with retouch lighting and the previous notes, they have a mild pleseant flavor. Would I buy 'em again? Nah. Gonna try to get through the purchase if I don't get too frustrated. Want a better smoke at the same deal? Definately go for the Flor de Oliva instead. Both the Natural and Maduro 5/50 are my go-to.

Consistently good/tasty

I also got the 2fer deal. The flavor, to me, is a less refined (more IN YOUR FACE!) version of the 2 or 3 Plascencia Organicas I have received in samplers. It is certainly full-flavored--but not harsh. I love the Natural wrappers--luscious, silky feel and taste. I compare these to the Fam. Nic. 3000, and I like the Floriditas better, except that the burn is sometimes uneven. If I could get them at these prices all the time, I would keep a constant supply.

La Floridita Belicoso Maduro es seguro

One of the benefits of having these review areas is not only reading what your compadres think of a particular cigar, but I've found recently as I've gotten older, I've forgotten what I really thought of that cigar (if I don't smoke it often), and going to the review area - only to find that I've also written a review of a version of that cigar. It helps you to remember what you liked or disliked about it.
This holds true for the La Floridita maduro. Reading the reviews made me want to try it again to see if I wanted to buy more. Tonight, I finally got around to having the belicoso and I found that if I puffed it a little differently, more slowly -(bringing less heat prematurely into the cigar), yet still getting a good draw, I enjoyed it a lot more, and avoided some of the taste I didn't like before. I could tell that if I puffed on it more aggressively it would have crossed the line into a more bitter taste. This one had some humidor time, and just went down smoothly, burning fine and with a nice pleasant smokey sweetness - which led me to the decision, "Yes, get some more. Now, while they're still on sale!"

Good Now, Great Later

Taste truly is a subjective beast, but I have a hard time understanding the harsh dislike some have of this brand. It's a good cigar and a truly fantastic deal - a medium-full everyday cigar that smokes very well right out of the bundle. If you want a real surprise, though, age them for a while. One of the belicoso maduros burrowed into the bottom of one of my humidors for about a year and I snagged the bugger while heading out on a recent fishing trip. Near the end of the day, happy about the fishing, I lit up. Terrific! Tasted surprising like a CAO Brazilia - and I hadn't been drinking much. Give them a try.

Dependable everyday smoke

My "everyday" cigar is either La Floridita or Roly. I really like the La Floridita. Appearance is good, nice wrappers for both natural and maduro with a few veins. The construction is solid and firm to the touch but you can get some side burners and some tight draws. Flavor is really good for a "bundle" cigar. The naturals have a better flavor then the maduros. One problem I notice with the maduros is the flavor varies more then the naturals, some are rich and creamy and some can be harsh or just be weak. I have probably tried all sizes in both maduro and natural and TORO NATURALS I feel are the best. These cigars are not the "cream of the crop", but for an everyday type cigar, they are one of the best and I plan to keep purchasing them!

Very good smoke, Better price!

So far I have purchased two bundles of these cigars and both were very good. I'm a "Maduro-Man" and these cigars had all of the characteristics that I look for in a maduro. And the price cannot be beaten. The only thing I have trouble with is - these cigars are tighter than my wife's pocketbook! The draw in many of them is poor. But beggars can't be choosers. Great taste, sweet aroma, good value (even for my wife). An all around nice "everyday" cigar.

Don't over look these!

As a new comer to the cigar population, less than a year, I am still willing to give this cigar an overall vote of ?good to go?. The construction and appearance is good as a low priced cigar goes. The draw is excellent from cigar to cigar with some variations in consistency of burn. The taste is adequate for a cigar of its prices and consistency. Overall a good smoke for the money invested. Surely not the best but worth the price I paid for them and quality of the cigar. I?ll be sure to keep a few of these around for a cheap change of pace. Give them a try and see what you think!

Some of the La Floridita line are good if you age them for a long time. I like the Pancho the best. I had bad luck with this Lonsdale Maudro though. I got this cigar in a sampler. The taste was ok, but the burn was terrible. It started ok, but after a few minutes the cigar burned from the center out. Fell short of expectations

I bought a bundle through the yankee auction and from the reviews thought I had found a nice inexpensive, everday smoke. The appearance, contruction and draw were very nice, but the burn was terrible all the way down. The burn problems ran the gammut; canoeing, tunneling and needed frequent relights and touch-ups. The flavor was greatly hurt by the burn issues, as I'm sure you know what a foul taste the tunneling and needed relights can cause. The only flavor that was decent happened the last quarter of the cigar, so I'm tempted to cut them to the size of a robusto to skip the burn/flavor problems. I've smoked three from the bundle and have been disappointed in all three. Maybe they will improve with some humi time, as I really wanted to enjoy these good looking smokes.

Surprisingly Good Smoke

When I ordered the bundle of these cigars, at only $33, I did not count on them being anything special. I enjoy a medium to full flavor cigar and thought that these could sit in my humidor for awhile just in case I ever ran out of my normal smokes (A. Fuente Mad. Chateau or Hoya de Monterey Mad.'s) I'd have one that would hold me over until I could make a run to the local cigar shop. I smoked my first one the evening they arrived and was shocked at how nice it smoked right out of the box. The draw was smooth, burn was fairly even (slight run on one side that was stopped by one drop of water off of my bottle of beer) and the taste was unbelievable for a $1.65 cigar. I did notice a stem in the filler near the cap after I cut it, and was worried that it might be plugged, but it did not seem to affect the draw. I'll still smoke my favorites but I don?t think this bundle will last nearly as long as I expected. If you like a cigar with a rich flavor, you should give these a try. For the money, you can?t go wrong.

Say hello to my icky sticky maduro

I don't know what they did to the wrapper to create the 'maduro' finish, but it was nasty as hell. Aside from that, the construction and draw were just fine (for the price), so the natural finish version of this stogie might be a good value. But I would strongly recommend looking to other options for an inexpensive maduro bundle. Unless, of course, you like having your fingers discolored by a mystery brown substance...

Holy Smokes!

Extreme Bargain Hunters take note:
These things are mighty good! Smoking the Corona Gigante in maduro, this cigar makes an impression wayyyy before lighting. The wrapper is deep and lustrous; oily, shiny, and practically vein free. It resonates a wonderful pre-light flavor and aroma which speaks of a cigar that usually costs me (and you) alot more than this one did. It has strong black coffee flavors throughout, and although this cigar might look intimidating it is so smooth and well blended that you find yourself at the end before you know hardly even know it. Impressive draw for a cigar of this size, consistency of construction is there...They even burned even for the most part after just a couple of days off the truck. I've only ever had to do just occasional minor touch-ups to correct the burn. This is one of the most impressive cigars for the money to come along in a long time. These are going on my ALL-TIME BARGAIN LIST right beside the Flor de Oliva bundle series, and Roly bundles. If you're not hip to these tasty sticks, hurry up before you miss the boat!
