La Gloria La Wonderful

This is one Beautiful Cigar, I didn't expect the incredible Flavor, Burn and Construction. I will be ordering a box, This will be my every day smoke.

The Best!!

Great all-around cigar. Bold and creamy. Smooth yet strong. Get a few and age them in your humidor for 3-months...even better!!

This review was written about La Gloria Cubana Serie R #4 by Andy of Nashville on September 7, 2008

A real SIT down and relax cigar

I saved one of these in my humidor for a while, just to have it on my birthday. The cigar outlasted the beer, the scotch and most of my drinking buddies. It burned for no less than 2 1/2 hours. From start to finish a great smoke. It is definitely a must have in any collection. Overall I give it a 9.9999999!

This review was written about La Gloria Cubana Serie R #7 by Paul of Longview on August 28, 2008

Must have, PERIOD!

MMMMMMMMMMMMMMM, now thats TASTY. Construction could be a little tighter and not packed so loose, but just as good as the Cubans, if not better.

A must have in every humidor!!!

The La Gloria Cubana Serie #7 Maduro is a exceptional smoke. It is full of flavor and so relaxing. Take your time with this one and enjoy yourself. Don't rush the groove, ya dig?

#7 on the back 9

This is an excellent cigar. It is easy to smoke and plenty to enjoy. Light to medium body (try the Maduro for a full body) and tastes/smells great. It holds up well and also makes a great chew.

This review was written about La Gloria Cubana Serie R #7 by Winston of Hartford, CT on April 24, 2008

My favorite for years. Just a great cigar.

Been smoking cigars for 36 years. Started on Cubans while living in Panama. I found this several years ago, and, if you are a full bodied maduro lover, this is it. You gotta go north of $20 a stick to come close.

This review was written about La Gloria Cubana Serie R #7 5 Pack by Bruce of North Carolina on April 10, 2008

Used to be great - but not anymore

When this cigar first appeared on the scene it was a solid, well made cigar with a beautiful oily wrapper. Now they're rolled too loosely and the wrappers are 2nd rate at best.

This review was written about La Gloria Cubana Serie R #6 by Warren Estes of Windham, NH on April 8, 2008

Get some!!

FANTASTIC!! Don't smoke this one on an empty stomach. Give yourself plenty of time and attention to enjoy it. Nuff said.

This review was written about La Gloria Cubana Serie R #6 by G. Morgan of Kansas City on February 17, 2008

not what they use to be

I smoked these for more than two years, and as time went by so did the quality of these cigars. The burn is un-even,the smoke is hot with pepper taste. I must say good-by to what I THOUGH was a good friend.

Serie R #4

Novice smoker here, only 6 years. Started smoking LGC's (maduro's)3 years ago and Serie R #4's for the last year and a half. I find myself craving this one when I feel like a smoke....others won't satisfy.. Although nothing comes close to smoking a Cuban, this is the best non Havana I have found. Does not come close to a Cuban but what does?

This review was written about La Gloria Cubana Serie R #4 by mannytress of  on January 12, 2008

Still the best

I first started smoking these back in 2001, and at times they were hard to find and much more expensive. I have never tired of these oily, toothy, full-flavored beauties!!! These are exceptional cigars.

the other 7 inches of my life is great

Love the large ring gage

I have been smoking cigars since I was 16 and now im 54. I have always liked the larger ring gage and Maduro wrapper but sometimes they are hard to find. The La Gloria Cubana Serie R #6 is the best I have found. The construction and color are consistent, strength is full-bodied and full-flavored. The pricing is good for the quantity 24count per box instead of 20count in most other brands.

Quality Problems

I have been smoking La Gloria Cubana for several years, I really enjoy the taste and strength but they quality has become very inconsistent over the past year. The burn is very bad on some #6's and ok on others out of the same box.

This review was written about La Gloria Cubana Serie R #6 by Jim of Austin, TX on September 13, 2007

Wonderful Cigar

This is truly a great cigar...the length, ring size, construction and taste. I tried some after reading the reviews and now have a humidor stocked full. I prefer the maduro over the other. Much better flavor. The smoke is thick and aromatic. This has become my every evening smoke and if I miss an evening, then the next morning with my coffee and walking the dog. I've tried many others but will stick with this one!! Even prefer it over my other favorite, Ashton Cabinet #7.

This review was written about La Gloria Cubana Serie R #6 by James of Atlanta on July 3, 2007

!!!!!

I have developed a palate over the years for strength in my cigars and have tried quite a few. This one is by far the best for my tastes. Strength and body cannot be matched. Doesn't always burn well and the $ are up there but, as of now, I can still afford it. The only brand that I can smoke everyday and not desire something else! Well, maybe El Rico Habana.

This review was written about La Gloria Cubana Serie R #5 by ommegang of wi on May 15, 2007

Great, but smaller ring gage PLEASE!!!

A very nice cigar. A lot of well aged tobacco in this cigar and it was good, but good god Ernest, would you make just one in the line witha 46 or less (panetela if I may be picky LOL) ring guage.

A TOP OF THE LINE QUALITY SMOKE

I have smoked many full bodied cigars over the 30 years of smoking cigars, but La Gloria Series R #5 is without a doubt the best constructed and all around quality smoke for the money.

This review was written about La Gloria Cubana Serie R #5 5 Pack by Jerry Roman of AZ on February 1, 2007

A new favorite

While the burn on these is usually a bit uneven, that cannot take away from the great taste of this cigar. Medium to Full strength cigars are my favorites and this one fits the bill. You won't be disappointed.

This review was written about La Gloria Cubana Serie R #5 by Jeff of MN on January 31, 2007

One of the great full-body maduro cigars.A must!

You can't over rate this cigar. It is a wonderful experience. It tastes great from the beginning to the end. Starts as dark chocolate, finishes to an espresso highlight. My son is new to cigars, and he became quite fond of these after the first one he finished. Full bodied enjoyment even for the beginner. Just pace yourself. It's complex, yet very fine! Not an imitation, a legit maduro with class.

My Favorite cigar. If you catch me without one there must be a problem. A perfect 10

Wonderful surprise!

I'm a new cigar smoker and after trying 5-6 different brands and thinking they all tasted the same and wondering what all the hype was about, this was a great find and finally know what is meant by a good rich enjoyable taste..I know have many more brands to try but think this will always be a favorite to fall back on

Wife says it smells bad

I kind of like these but they burn a little hot. I didn't have any problems keeping it lit or burning straight. I usually smoke Rocky P 90's or Grand Cameroon Oliva and the old lady never complained about the smell. If you want a real powerhouse try the Joya De Nicaragua Antonio 1970.

This review was written about La Gloria Cubana Serie R #5 by fat smoke dog of Saginaw MI on July 23, 2006

A complex powerhouse

I have always been a LGC fan and I love pretty much every cigar made by them, but my favorites have always been maduro and they have always been their smaller cigars, so when I smoke a serie R it's always going to be a #4 because I don't have two hours to smoke a cigar. The #4 hits the spot if you want a powerful and complex LGC taste which makes these cigars hard to put down until they start to burn your fingers.

This review was written about La Gloria Cubana Serie R #4 by Stephen of Leesburg VA on July 23, 2006

If I had to choose only one this would be it!

I've smoked and smoke lots of different cigars but these are by far the one I go to when I don't want to have to think about the cigar and just enjoy the cigar. Smoked lots more expensive cigars and found I'm just burning money up on them that I could be spending on the most enjoyable cigar I've found. Great taste, spicy and rich and an aromma that hasn't been beat to date. I suggest you get a box for yourself!

This review was written about La Gloria Cubana Serie R #5 by Ap N of Central Texas on July 10, 2006

This bad-boy kicked my butt!

This is simply a BEAIUTIFUL cigar! Black as the Ace of Spades and an absolute work of art. Fantastic taste but somewhat difficult to keep lit. The burn wasn't as even as I would have liked. About half way down it really KICKED IN....this is a real MAN's CIGAR! I smoke many stronger sticks and this bad boy finally kick my butt. BUT, it was a great smoke! Recommended for anyone who is "experienced"!

A truely remarkable smoke

Bought a box in Maduro thru my local tobacconist, but could have saved over $200 thru Famous (damn California!). Initally I was intrigued by the beautiful humidor, but after I smoked my first one, I knew I had to buy a box. The cigars are a true delight and wonderfully full flavored and robust without kicking your ass. I love the large size, the feel, and especially the luscious rich creamy taste. The aroma is entrancing, the smoke thick and delicious. I hope these will be available in future editions (without having to buy the expensive humidor again). What am I supposed to put into the humidor after these 30 are gone? This is one that I want to continue smoking and enjoying forever.

Simply the best

For the experienced smoker this "Le Grande Boy" is ambrosia! It is bold, without being too bold (like the new Camacho "uncles"). Earthy tones, hints of expresso and pepper (and maybe just a touch of nuts!). Enjoy it with a glass of your favorite bourbon or single malt scotch, but be forwarned, this beauty demands a commitment because it can last up to 3 hours! At about five bucks a stick, this baby is a bargain.

A Smoker's Delight That Should Not Be Missed!

Now I'm torn between EPC's El Rico Habano Rico Club & this full-bodied beauty as my favorite cigar! Ultra smooth and full of complex flavors, try this great stick with a spicy glass of premium rum! The stars never looked brighter!

Great Smoke

I lit up one of these not too long ago. It is one of, if not, the best cigar I have had.

Overated cigar

Mine was hard to keep lit and flavor the was a bit "dry". Similar to Hoyo de Monterrey Dark Sumatra Media Noche, although the Dark Sumatra is alot better.

The best smoke

My favorite cigar is La Gloria Cubana. They make the best Maduros in my opinion. Their best is Seris R number 7. I smoked one on the New years show Bluestown did in 2004 and all year they have been my Special occasion cigar, they keep me going during anytime,I love them .

Smooth, Beautiful, and Delicious

This cigar is an absolute must. A little more on the medium side, it packed a beautiful and complex melange of flavors. It was a true adventure to smoke as its characteristics changed in an enchanting way throughout. The construction is simply beautiful and the burn and ash were amazing. The draw was a little tight at first but a little massaging took care of that. I recommend this cigar to everyone of all different tastes. This should be a mainstay in every cigar afficiando's collection.

This review was written about La Gloria Cubana Serie R #6 by Jason of Louisiana on October 23, 2005

a high performance smoke

I can't belive I waited so long to try these cigars. I enjoy the regular L.G.C. but the Series R maduro is an incredible smoke. While on a walk with my wife I enjoyed one of these. I could not belive how smooth and rich it was. The dark oily wrapper was nice to look at and was flawless. The ash was firm and white, the draw was good, the construction was top notch. The flavor was "FULL" but very smooth with hints of espresso . All in all a great smoke for the money and I cant wait to have another.

A MUST SMOKE FOR A TRUE CIGAR LOVER

This is one of the finest smokes you can buy period. And you can buy it with out going broke. The taste and burn is just plain perfect - I hope this line never goes away.

Serie R slaps on the Wavell!!!

I prefer robust full flavored cigars, when I first tried a LGC it was a Wavell. I thought it was great tasting, but it just didn't have the Thunder I like in a cigar. Then I tried my Serie R #4 "maduro" and I could not believe the difference, it is the Bentley of the LGCs'. The complexities in this cigar are unimaginable, like every 5th pull was a new expierence. It is a perfect daily cigar if you like a tasty full flavored maduro. I can't wait to try a Limitada!

My Favorite Cigar By Far

I started smoking cigars about 5 years ago and got one of these in a sampler pack and WOW, The best cigar and most consistant I've smoked yet. Nice even burn, strong creamy tast and very affordable.

THE BEST LA GLORIA OUT THERE

THIS HAS GOT TO BE ONE OF THE BEST MADURO'S OUT THERE. THE FLAVOR IS SO INTENSE AND SMOOTH AND HAS PLENTY OF SMOOTH POWER. THE DRAW IS EXCELLENT AND THE FLAVOR IS VERY COMPLEX CHANGING EVERY INCH AND A HALF OF THE CIGAR. MY BRAND IN A MADURO WAS MOSTLY THE ASHTON#60 MADURO, BUT THIS CIGAR HAS TONS OF FLAVOR THAT YOU JUST HAVE TO TRY TO KNOW WHAT I'M SAYING, THE NATURAL IS VERY GOOD TO.I TOLD A LOT OF PEOPLE ABOUT THIS CIGAR BUT I WILL NOT SHARE THEM.

Best Value, Bar None

The LGC Serie R #4 is now the hands down favorite among my cigar afficianado friends at Nimbus Brewing Co's taproom. It's a powerful smoke that will satisfy the most discriminating smoker. Any given night many are passed around and savored with a fine pull of micro-brew, great company and conversation. Buy a few boxes, they are VERY affordable, and share them with your friends and see if the same thing dosen't happen where you're at. Trust me, it will. You'll be the life of the party. Cheers!

Complex yet good

Not one of the most powerful smokes I have smoked but it did have a complex strong taste. Not my first pick for an every day smoke but still very good.

Power House that you never want to stop smoking!

I went into our local tobacco shop and accidentally grabbed this cigar. It was in the wrong box with the regular Gloria. I was charged the wrong price. Went I got home to smoke it, I could not believe the most wonderful aroma, never ending taste and excellent flavor. I just cannot say enough about this cigar. I have been smoking for nearly seven years and this is only the second time that I did not want a cigar to stop burning. Loved it and you will to.

This review was written about La Gloria Cubana Serie R #4 by Jose Ortiz of Hudson, New York on August 7, 2004

Wow

This is not for the newbie. This cigar packs flavor, class, aroma, and construction all into one. It is strong and rich. A cigar to be smoked slowly. Big on flavor and aroma. To a heavy duty veteran cigar smoker, this is the great gift for a special occassion. This is one classy smoke

La Gloria, La Bomb!

After a disappointing day of gathering bathroom remodel supplies (many calls from suppliers that goods [tile, tub, toilet] are ready for pick up, none of which were) I stopped by Liberty to treat myself to a LGC Series R and it is everything I was told it would be. Treat yourself! I am pleasantly surprised to find Famous offers a case for $130. I’m on the patio sipp’in some Cognac enjoying all seven inches. We’ve all heard that before right? Get some!

Excellent cigar, great flavor, and very even smoke

This cigar smokes great, and has a smooth easy draw. It lasted me for close to 4 hours, every time I let it go out and then re-light it, it came back as strong and flavorfull as ever, with no bitter taste.

This review was written about La Gloria Cubana Serie R #7 by Barry Katcher of Las Vegas, Nevada on February 19, 2004

This should be your everyday smoke

I've been smoking the Serie R #5 Maduro for a few months now and can truly say that there is no better cigar for the money. In fact, you could pay much more for a cigar and not come close to the consistent burn, rich taste and flawless construction of this cigar. The best part is that you can actually afford to buy a box. Try them after they've been in the humidor for a few months . . . . . La Gloria heaven.

This review was written about La Gloria Cubana Serie R #5 by Bob Oken of Greenville, SC on February 12, 2004

ever been too cigar heaven?

Enjoyable,Rich smoke

The Gloria Serie R #7 is a huge cigar that burns and draws remarkable for it's size and girth. It has a rich tobacco taste with hints of expresso and nuts. A definate top-quality smoke. My only problem is the 58 ring size. I have had problems cutting the cap with commercially available cutters and have gotten sloppy cuts and slight wrapper damage. If you prefer guillitine type cutters, be sure you have one that can handle this size. Otherwise you might damage an excellant cigar

This review was written about La Gloria Cubana Serie R #7 by David of New Hampshire on January 18, 2004

The best Maduros around - bar none

These start slow, but the flavor grows and is rich. I truly almost burn my fingers smoking these.

Best/Smoothest cigar I've ever had

This is by far the best cigar i've ever had. The draw was incredibly smooth. I don't think there is a cigar on the legal market that comes close. High five to La Gloria.

Fantastic cigar

This is a commitment that won't let you down a full bodied wonderfully tasting cigar. One of the best I have tried. It rates with the Opus X very well. In the last year I have smoked a lot of different cigars but none that compare. Even my snob friends that insist on the cubans agree. They are be happy to get one of these every time.

Smoke 'em now or later, but smoke 'em

These cigars smoke great right out of the box but for a real treat, let them age. Put a box in the "Igloodor" last summer and haven't touched them since. The flavors have mellowed incredibly and changed what was a just great smoke into a truly outstanding cigar.

This review was written about La Gloria Cubana Serie R #5 by Jim Holzer of Laurel, MD on August 14, 2002

Don't waste any more time

Better get one of these quick and try it out. If you enjoy a full flavored cigar, this is it. I really enjoyed the larger ring size for a full blown taste bud experience. It also burns and draws with a wonderful smoothiness. For extra kicks try the maduro, wow.

This review was written about La Gloria Cubana Serie R #5 by S.Z of Chicago on July 7, 2002

Simply an outstanding cigar! The best bar none!

This cigar is exquisitely constructed for a fine, even, robust, and truly enjoyable smoke. I can't think of how it might be improved, except a larger ring size at the same length. Highly recommended!!

This review was written about La Gloria Cubana Serie R #4 by Michael W. Strickland of Tavernier, Florida on August 31, 2001

Wow!!!!!!!! This is one serious smoke

I just smoked my first one of these rockets three hours ago and my head is still spining. If you love strong smokes get these. A great earthy core with a meaty leathery finish. NOT FOR THE WEAK OF HEART. If you are not familiar with La Gloria you may want to start with the Wavell and work your way up to the "R"

La Gloria out does Itself

I have been an avid cigar smoker since 1994, when I brought Rush Limbaugh a box of Hoyo De Monterrey Double Coronas from St. Maarten. I had no idea what I had given Rush as I had not smoked cigars seriously. But, the $ 240 worth of cigars was worth the opportunity to meet Rush on his TV show. Shortly after delivering the Hoyo Doubles to Rush, I began my education on Dominican Cigars with the Help of L-J Cigars in North Plam Beach, FL. I began with Partagas, Macanudo and other popular brands from General and Consolidated Cigar companies. In 1995, I met an individual in a cigar store in Bermuda and he told me about the La Gloria Cubana line. I did a favor for this cigar friend and brought back several boxes of cuban cigars from Bermuda on a coporate jet I was traveling on. This new found friend gave me about 10 different La Glorias, when I delivered the cubans to his home. I was thrilled to taste these La Glorias. Without a doubt, the BEST dominican I had smoked to date. I was traveling to Palm Beach weekly and made it a point to drive round trip to Miami to buy these wonderful cigars on South West 8th Street. I was able to open a private account back then during the cigar shortage. I purchased many bundles of La Gloria Lineup; Churchills, Corona Gorda, Double Coronas, Soberanos, Charlamagnes, Wavells and Crown Imperials. I later was able to buy boxes of these fine smokes. I bet I have accumulated a pile of boxes of the La Gloria Line 10 feet high. These fine cigars will hold "their own" against any cuban smoke that I bring home on a regular basis. The quality of construction, color, shape, draw, flavor is second to none. I have personally felt that the more experienced rollers were located in the Miami facility verus the newest facilty that Ernesto opened in the Dominican during 1986. Whenever I have purschased these La Gloria boxes at J&R in New Jersey, I have looked for the "FL" indication on the box to know that I am getting the Miami grade. I have heard thoughts about this from others, but early in the Dominican 16,000 square foot expansion, I believe I was correct in the fact that the better rollers remained on SW 8th St. in Miami. I have had the opportunity to drink espresso with several rollers and Ernesto in Miami. What a real nice guy. Ernesto has told me that he was so upset to see what some of the retailers were charging for his cigars during the shortage, in some cases $ 18.00 for a torpeado or Soberano. His goal was to make a quality cigar that people could afford. Recently, I had the opportunity to smoke a Serie R made in the Dominican by La Gloria. What a wonderful Smoke! Excellent, every aspect of it. I am sorry that I didn't purchase all six boxes that Shannon (Customer Service) told me Famous-Smoke had in stock. The Serie R is an Absolutely Wonderful Cigar and beautifully packaged, deserved of such a well constructed cigar! Whether you smoke a La Gloria Serie R or any of the La Gloria line, you WILL not be disappointed. A standard of excellence. Ernesto, thanks for setting such quality in the cigar industry these years. A true standard bearer. Ken Fitzsimmons
