Smooth, Sweet and a little Spicy!

I didn't like the ring size of this one it made the cigar burn faster then I would like. If you have small hands this might fit you better. The burn was even from beginning to end. It stayed lit. The smoke was smooth and tasty with a sweet peppery taste. Overall I was pleased with the smoke but it the fast burn and small ring made it go faster then I would like.

Coffee's Perfect Mate!

picked up a pack of these today from my local tobacconist (although never again because they are about $6 cheaper from Famous) and they are terrific! They really do taste just like the bigger Macanudo's but only take 30-40 min. to smoke. Perfect for that first cigar of the day to accompany your morning coffee. All long filler, good construction, even burn, effortless draw, and all the flavor you know and love from Macanudo at a great price! These will no doubt remain a mainstay in my smoking rotation.

Excellent Mild Clean Cigar.

This cigar is the perfect Macanudo. It's ring gauge is large enough and the cigar is long enough to be able to sit down and relax after a long day, and sit long enough to let it all drift away. There is very little aftertaste: None the next morning (brush your teeth b4 bed with Crest that has Scope in it). Great smoke.

Disappointed/Bad Draw

I was very disappointed in this cigar. The draw was way too hard! I finally gave up after struggling half way through. I ordered a five pack and every one of them has been the same. Cigar smoking should be a pleasurable experience, not a lot of hard work and frustration. I had high hopes for the Hyde Park. I wish I could have had the experience other raters had.

Great Cigar!

First I want to say if you have not tried this cigar then you are missing out because it is amazing. I have smoked a couple of these out on the golf course and they are just perfect because of their mildness, the consistant burn and draw. This cigar is perfect for someone who is trying to not spend to much on a cigar and get something great in return. I personally recommend this cigar to my friends and they enjoy them just as much as I do.

Great well made cigar--mild flavor

All my cigar smoking friends make fun of me because I smoke MACS--TOO BAD!! They are a great cigar , very well made and most of the time a good draw. True they are mild-- but you still get a complex, delicious flavor--never over powering--plus in the arena of premium cigars they are not over priced like so many others.

a good mild smoke

I had to try this brand of smoke. The appearance was nice, the wrapper a little rough looking but nothing bad. The draw seemed tight and it was difficult getting a good mouthful of smoke, the burn perfect. The taste was excellent however but I prefer a more full-flavored cigar. Not bad at all, I'm glad I tried it.

Prince Phillips Disappointment

As a long time Mac fan, Prince Phillip was my favorite and I haven't completely given up on them as yet. Recent experience has been that they have a tight if not impossible draw, canoe much too easy and tend to unravel. I've ordered the Hyde Park for a short smoke and taken to like them better than the Prince Phillip. The Prince is still the best looking cigar around. Too bad it has problems.

Another No Brainer

I can't emphasize enough the quality that I get from every single Macanudo cigar I enjoy. The taste is always spot on, the burn and construction are almost always great, and the draw is terrific. This is one of those cigars that you will look forward to smoking at the end of the work day. Pleasantly mild, creamy, a true pleasure.

Macanudo Hampton Court - The jury's in...

Long accused of being a well constructed mild cigar, I must profess the Macanudo Hampton Court, GUILTY as charged. It is by far one of the finest cigars I've smoked yet. The Hampton Court is ideally sized at 5.5 inches and a 42 gauge. It burns well down to the band with ample smoke and remains consistenly mild throughout. If you enjoy a mellow cigar, I highly recommend the Hampton Court.

OK, but not great

I expected better from a cigar that's hyped as much as Macanudo. Tight draw which improved toward the end. Taste was nice and clean, but nothing special. Compared to my favorite everyday unit (Don Diego), it comes up short.

Nice aroma, mild smoke, tight draw, uneven.

Slightly green in flavor, perhaps because the draw was slightly tight, but a nice mild flavor which builds so that it's worth smoking down to the nub. Uneven construction (cap filler was stems and bits which had to be spit out several times) and the cigar was tight at the foot and loose at the end. Nice looking, even burning, pleasant smoke but not terribly complex. Ashton (and even La Fontana) are similar but slightly more interesting.

My favorite

This is my favorite cigar, I've been smoking them for many years. I usually buy one of the Prince Philip Cafes and then a new cigar I've never tried to use it as a baseline comparison. They are very consistent in construction and taste but can have a somewhat tight draw. I recently bought one that was too tight to smoke, but it was the very first. Very mild flavor, nice smelling smoke but not a real "smokey" cigar. Great mild beginner's cigar too. Highly recommended -- the newer Maduro style adds a bit more spice to the flavor, I haven't tried the Robustos yet. Overall a great cigar.

Tasteless

I bought a couple of these at a local cigar store to "try before I bought" (a box), and I'm really glad that I did so. I was very disappointed. This cigar burned very well, it was well-constructed, and smelled good, but it had practically no discernable taste. I like a mild cigar occasionally, but I want SOME taste. I'm not real familiar with Macanudos, so maybe this is what they're supposed to be like. If so, they're simply not my cup o' tea.

Excellent Cigar

This cigar is outstanding, and of the hundreds I've smoked, only about 5% have had any inconsistency. It's nice to relax with - being quite mild - and after the first inch or so, is a smooth smoke down to the knuckle. The glass tubes are a nice touch, but they still need proper humidification and sustain themselves well in a humidor. Do yourself a favor and enjoy this cigar.

I now know why Macanudos are rated so high!

Just started getting back into cigars, and tried a Macanudo Hyde Park from a sampler pack. Everything I read about Macanudos is true! Very mellow taste throughout the whole cigar, very light gray/near white ash which held to almost half way down the cigar, pleasant aroma, and an easy draw. The only thing I could find wrong with the cigar I smoked was some softness in some parts when I checked it over for firmness. Otherwise, a real winner in my book!! A 9 out of 10!

Mild-Medium flavor, hints of sweetness and chocolate. Good smooth draw, somewhat un-even burn had to stay one step ahead of this one.
