smooth easy smoke

Unwrap them and set them in a humidor with a shot glass of cognac.......Nice

Another GREAT maduro

Yet another smoke that will remain in my box at all times. I only have a one complaint, a few of these have had a tight draw. A little finger rolling does the trick though. Other than that, a great smoke. I recommend it to anyone, even NUB's will like this one.

Not bad for the price

These cigars are brimming with toasty, earthy flavors and subtle notes of sweet wood, nutmeg, coffee, almonds, semi-sweet cocoa, hazlenut and a touch of cedar. The finish has a buttery character with notes of spice and expresso. I like my cigars a little more complex, but these are nice cigars for what they are and the price.

Flavorless

This cigar looks great, burns well, rolled just right, but, has no flavor. If I didn't see smoke coming out of my mouth, I would not have known I was smoking it.

A great cigar!

I really enjoyed this smoke. It has a lot of flavor, and it was never too powerful. The burn, appearance, and overall construction are top shelf! My wife even enjoyed this one and suggested that I buy more without even asking what the price was... THAT IS PRICELESS!

Great first maduro for me "the beginner"

What a great tasting cigar. Smooth and delicious. As a beginning cigar smoker I will always remember this one as I graduate to a fuller stength maduro.

A Very Mild Maduro

This is pertaining to the Hype Park 5-pack. I agree with the others about the tight draw. It is certainly not unsmokable by any means, but too tight to get ample smoke. It is a mild maduro with little flavor.

This review was written about Macanudo Maduro Hyde Park by CJ of Yardely, PA on May 8, 2008

where is the taste?

the cigar's construction fit into the premium catagory however compared to a sancho panza double maduro or an occidental maduro, this Mac lacks taste. it begins rather smooth as the draw is a bit too tight, but once it begins smoking the cigar burns well, it just lacks taste,. the bundled version cigars have a blend that burns too hot usually but has some taste to it., i kept waiting for the taste to kick into gear which didnt occur, i couldnt taste anything special on this cigar however the construction was decent, not terrific but decent, problem is, this cigar has vreitually no taste, nothing distinct whatsoever. i got excited looking forward to it but was left disappointed due to its lack of taste, if it has any to begin with. Surprised this is Mac's version of a maduro, its plenty mild i suppose as the wondertful taste i was expecting never occured. its a balnd tasting maduro, bland at best.

Price to high

I am supprised to find after auction I over paid through this site. The 5 pack was mis labeled when bidding was taking place which led to a higher price. Not happy about that.

Great Cigar!!!

I was impressed by the first one and now after the fourth, my opinoin has not changed. Its draw is what a good cigar should be, not to tight but loose enough that you have to work at it. The flavor is smooth then becomes rich toward the end. Its lives up the the maduro name. I also recommend the Rocky Patel sun grown factory 2nds. Buy a bundle, you cant beat the price and are just as good.

Take it out of the cellophane

To Aaron: Based on your ability to spell, I suspect that you did not take the cigar out of the cellophane before trying to light it. That will give you an inconsistent smoke. This is one of the best Maduros on the market. This is the one that got me hooked on Maduros.

Extremely Tasteful

The Macanudo Hyde Park maduro cigar is delicious. A smooth medium flavorful cigar. A nice rich taste with every draw. This cigar will be my maduro cigar. I've given a few out to friends and they loved it.

This review was written about Macanudo Maduro Hyde Park by Doug of South Florida on October 19, 2007

Tight, Tight, Tight

I've tried three of these from a 5-pack, and so far they have all been really tight on the draw. One of them was just unsmokable because of it. I wasn't impressed with the taste all that much either. It could be just because of the ring size, but I know that I won't ever purchase these again. Definitly not worth the hassle or the price.

Great taste

Got these in a sampler, looks good, nice construction, and GREAT TASTE. The only thing wrong is it's a hard (tight) draw.

The Maduro that started it all for me!!!!!!

I have to admit, this was the cigar that turned me onto Maduros in the 1st place, GREAT, bursts of SMOOTH smoke, slight coffee and chocolate hints. VERY tasty! .....Before this cigar I had only bad experinces with Maduros and had thought they all were bitter. So, I have to say THANKS MACANUDO for a classic that I will go back to again and again (yes even after smoking everything else out there in the premium market).

Smooooooth

The first maduro I truly loved. It is one of the smoothest cigars I have ever tasted. They don't last long, but for a quickie, they're great.

This review was written about Macanudo Maduro Ascot (10) by Kevin of NW Arkansas on February 24, 2007

poor quality every time

Ordered these in a five pack and ALL were impossible draws. Tried a light roll to loosen one up but wrapper falls apart very easily. Tried a poker with another one but wrapper falls apart AND effort didn't loosen things up. Great taste if you don't mind the constant fight! Funny, the other Macs ordered seperately are of different size, etc. but have the SAME problem! Cust Svs says they don't take back cigars that have been clipped... so they don't take back cigars that don't draw... SO BUY AT YOUR OWN RISK or buy Macs from a vendor who stands behind the product better. Hey, sometimes we get a bad cigar.... it happens... but when an entire order is crap then there's a quality control issue.

Great Smoke!

It doesn't get any better than this for the money. A fine smoke that I highly recommend.

Sophisticated and Classy

I've tried them all and keep coming back to the sophisticated and classy taste of the Macanudo Maduro Baron De Rothschild. I am now at the point that it is this cigar or none at all. It is my choice and I have made it.

These little maduros have an excellent taste. A bit of heaven while they last :-)

A choice small cigar

Tasty, easy draw, even a nice smell that my daughter doesn't mind. My first good experience with a maduro cigar.

DAMN!!!!!

I picked up a five pack of these a while back and I do have to say DAMN!!!!! this past Saturday night a friend of mine enjoyed one of these as I did. These smokes we had came from my bag and were the same. He used a bullet punch and began smoking sooner than I. He complained of a difficult draw but rejoiced over the flavors he was getting. His burnt well and he ended up with almost a 3 1/2" ash. Mine,, well damn! i cut mine and lit it and DAMN! this has got to be the best cigar I have smoked so far in my short time smoking. I would highly recommend this cigar to anyone that loves a med. smoke. great burn, great ash, and yes,,,, I burnt the fingers before I had to let it go. I would have to give this cigar a seven on a scale of one to ten. WELL WORTH THE MONEY FOR A FIVE PACK!! I will be getting more of these.

love those stogies but damn there expensive

Tried these beauties a couple of weeks ago and they are damn tasty, cost me $55.00 a tin here in australia, but worth it.Good for a quick smoke when running short on time(20 minutes)just wish I could get them cheaper like in America.

Good Cigar, Little Tight on The Draw

I tried the Mac Maduro for the first time today. It's a little better then the cafe which I really like but the draw was a little tight. I'll definitely give it another try and hope for a better draw next time

Great smoke! Fine cigars!

These cigars are some of the finest around and the cost is right on. My friends love em!

Very tight draw

I have enjoyed several Macanudo Maduros. After enjoying a Mac. Mad. I got in a sampler pack I decided to order a box of Baron De Rothschilds. The draw on the first was very yery tight. I was hoping it was going to be an isolated case, but sadly this has not proven to be the case. I have smoked 6 and all had very difficult draws. Other than that the construction, taste and smell were great.

TIGHT!!! NOT IN A GOOD WAY!

This cigar was one of the worst I have ever had. It was so tight that I could barely get a light puff out of it. I should have heeded the warnings of the few who made the same statement. By now shouldn't the rollers know that these things are too tight?

Excellent moderately priced cigarillo

I've tried sbout a dozen different cigarillos in the $10.00-$15.00 per tin price range and have found these to be the most consistant of the bunch; good draw, balanced (flavorful without being harsh).

One of the Best!

If you read a user review that states that the Macanudo Maduro is sub-par, don't listen. General Cigar created a classic. I have never had a bad experience with any Macanudo cigar. The contruction is top notch, the burn is perfect with a georgous ash. One time I lit one in a bar and the bartender told me he didn't usually let people smoke cigars at the bar, but he permitted me to because he said the Macanudo Maduro didn't stink up the place like other cigars. One of my favorites!

Kick Ass

Hey, I love these babies. I was a huge ONYX fan before the reserve came out and I was looking for a new drug. I took one puff of the Macanudo Maduro Diplomat and new I'd found what I was looking for. They got a little bitter bite at the start but when you smoke over the hump and into the nub.....man they are exquisite!!!! I can't wait to get me another box

As good as it gets?

A wonderful cigar with a flawless construction and burn. The wrapper was outstanding and the taste is just as I want it - sweet and spicy, wellbalanced and smooth. It went from medium and came close to full bodied after half the cigar. I tried a 12-year Jamaican rum with it which was perfect. In my opinion it´s a 9+ (but it´s only after smoking one of them but I´ll definitely buy a box).

Plugged Draw- not even a draw poker could fix

The sight of such a lovely well made cigar made my mouth water. A wonderful color with perfect construction. Then I tried to light the gem and then tried again until finally it began to smolder after using half the butane torch on it. This Mac was packed so tight I could have drove it in the dirt with a hammer. I tried another, it was worse yet. Out of anger I slammed the stick against the side of a steel table. Aside from tearing the wrapper, the blow this stick received didn't even dent the binder. I give the Mac Mad a very solid 10... as is a 10 penny nail.

Outstanding Smoke

This is one the nicest built and burning smokes I've had in a while (especially for the price)... Smooth & even draw with a nice mild to medium body... EXCELLENT CIGAR and ALWAYS consistant

This review was written about Macanudo Maduro Duke Of Devon by Kendall Lachermeier of Minnesota on November 11, 2003

A Tad Disappointing

I expected a smoother smoke from this Macanudo, but it really doesn't compare to its larger brothers. Construction and burn was good, but the taste was a little disappointing. I guess for me, a cigar still needs to come big and the Ascot didn't deliver.

Great mid priced.

This was one of the best mid priced cigars I have ever had. Great flavor, good even burn. These are now a staple in my humidor. Great to share with friends after dinner or sitting on the deck at dusk with a scotch. Good job Macanudo.

One Word Smooth

This is one of the best. The taste is great and everything else is quiet good. The best part of this cigar would have to be how smooth it is. One can barely tell they are smoking at times. Perfect with nothing more than the stars above.

BOLD , YET EASY DRAW WITH A GREAT TASTE

I'VE SMOKE THE MACANUDO'S EVERY CHANCE I GET . THEY ARE THE BEST AFTER A DELIGHTFUL DINNER OR AN OFF SHORE FISHING TRIP . THEY TASTE REALLY GREAT ANY TIME .

This review was written about Macanudo Maduro Duke Of Devon by DAVID LAM of BALT. MD. on July 5, 2003

Consistently the best made cigar available!

Macanudo Maduros are consistently my favorite cigar because they're made so well.....from filler and binder to wrappers that gently hug the "gold" inside. I haven't found any other cigar made so well. Other cigars are fuller bodied but unfortunately, no other company seems to have the know-how or the desire to make a perfect cigar. Unlike my favorite Cubans, Rey del Mundo for mornings, Partagas and Romeo y Jul., and other, more full-bodied cigars, none are consistently so well made: to bad others can't reproduce this quality of manufacuture.

Excellent Quickie

I usually smoke the Baron De Roths, but when I want a quickie the Ascots are GREAT. They are more of a medium body cigar with more Maduro flavor than the larger gauge cigars. The price is a bit high so I order them 100 at a time. Much cheaper than the Ashton Aged Maduro #5 which is my truely favorite quickie.

This review was written about Macanudo Maduro Ascot (10) by Steve of Colorado Springs on June 3, 2003

Good taste, but for the price, you could do better

On the first draw, I was dissapointed. For a medium/full flavored cigar, the prince phillip was weak. It took a half a dozen draws to get the flavor to come through, then the taste was good. I suppose that whoever rated the strength, smokes ultra-lights. The burn was uneven, and if I set it down to turn a page in my book, the thing would go out. The draw was OK; it was certainly not what I expected from Macanudo. My rating, Draw; fair, Taste; weak, but tasty, Burn; not very consistent, Price; you can do better, Ash; who cares? These are OK at best. If you think these are the best, you should really get out more. If you like the light taste, you would do much better spending the extra buck and treating yourself to an Oliva "O".

FANTASTIC!!!

Wow, what a great cigar! Went to the Foxwoods casino yesterday to shoot some craps and smoke some cigars. Picked up a Mac maduro Hyde Park and couldn't believe what I've been missing. Great flavor, ash, and draw. One of my new favorites. Hints of coffee and chocolate add to the cigar's complexity.

A Treat

An odd looking "Booger". Tried one of these for free while visiting the Macanudo Bus in Knoxville. A real suprise. Nice full flavor from one end to the other. A good short, spicy smoke without a bite while giving a consistant burn. Nice ash as well. I plan on loading up my humidor when I get the space. Heck, I may just get another humidor and enjoy. I normally smoke medium and medium to full sticks, but found these a pleasurable treat.

No problem with Hyde Park Maduro draw

I smoked a Hyde Park Maduro that I received from a friend, this is the best way to sample a cigar for the first time. I clipped with a straight cut and found the draw to be near perfect. This cigar was quite mild for a maduro and I enjoyed it very much.

Its a Mac, its a maduro, its goooooood !

If you like maduro and the great Mac taste you gotta try this. Little more medium flavored than the cafe with a touch of maduro sweetness. A good little 35 min smoke. Not quite as creamy as the cafe.

Awesome Cigar!

I'm just about done with a box of the Maduro Baron De Roth's and they have replaced the regular Baron De Roth's as my favorite cigar. Great flavor, no after taste, great burn - everything I want in a cigar. By far my favorite cigar now!

Not an officiando, but I enjoy a good smoke

Great smoke for the price. Smooth flavor with a consistant burn. Great cigar on it's own or with a good scotch.

THIS SUCKS

THIS CIGAR HAS ONE OF THE WORST DRAW THAN ANY OUTHER CIGAR I HAVE SMOKED IN MY LIFE TIME. IT'S SO TIGHT THAT MANY IN THE BOX WOULD NOT EVEN LIGHT. SURLY IS A WAST OF MONEY AND TIME. I DO NOT RECOMEND THIS TO ANYONE!!!! I CAN'T UNDERSTAND WHY FAMOUS WOULD EVEN SELL US THIS STICK.

Macanudo's Best

Very good looking smoke. Construction is always top notch with Macanudo and this has more flavor to boot. Not as rich and creamy as some of the top-line Maduros (Padron Anni, ERDM, etc.) but these taste good. Rolled tight but good draw!

This review was written about Macanudo Maduro Diplomat by Todd C of Sacramento, CA on June 23, 2000

very, very disappointed

I bought these based on my experience with Mac's. Plus the appearance was pretty neat. The first one I tried to smoke was rolled so tight I couldn't get any decent smoke at all. Most of these are rolled so tight you almost get a headache smoking them. What an extreme waste of money these are. Never again.

THANKS

Tight on the draw, but a GREAT stick! Smooth and rich flavor, but not overpowering. Took a new box on group ski trip to Breckenridge in JAN-00. Even my "Smoke-1-A-Year" friends LOVED these buggers! A hit with the hot tub and Makers Mark Bourbon!
