Matacan Cigars

These cigars are one of the best I've smoked.

I Love them for A first cigar of the day they seem to have a real Earthy sort of flavor to me. I haven't smoked this brand for a while and now I wonder why I haven't ( maybe because there are so many others to choose from and sample)

good taste, rolled a little tight

Like most people said, it was a little to tight til I punched a hole down it. The taste was pretty dang good, it surprised me really. It burned pretty good for a cheapie and the last 2/3rds had a nice taste

Decent everyday smoke when they'll draw

Like throwing money down the drain sometimes as many of them are wrapped too tightly and won't draw. Even drilling them doesn't help much. Good taste, though, and I'm a glutton for punishment, so keep smokin' them when I'm working around the house and yard. But they're certainly not my choice when I want to relax with a GOOD cigar.

Sore Jaws

These smokes are so tight they will make your jaw ache . Get some Te-amo or Tabamex instead !!!

Bad Experience

Hard draw, impossible to light without the assistance of a vacuum pump, uneven burn, harsh bitter taste, bad acerbic aftertaste. Utterly and absolutely AWFUL....

This is my everyday smoke.

I have always had good luck with this cigar. Though I have shopped around, I've decided that this is my everyday smoke. I always wind up going back to it.

Hard To Tell

I bought this as a single, with several other Mexican cigars of different brands to sample. This lonsdale looked rugged and dark out of the cello, but I noticed how hard it was. I lit up anyway and almost herniated trying to get smoke through it. After 2 mins I cut the fire off and used a Draw Poker to bore a hole. Didn't help. Only after the cigar got down to the last 1/3 did I begin to get a proper draw. The aroma is wonderful for a Maduro. But you can't get any of the flavor when a cigar is rolled this tightly. Somebody adjust the machine!!

Never buy a Matacan #7

This is one of the worst draw, and tasting cigars I've had. My God, I hope I can get it out of my mouth within the next day or two. DO NOT SMOKE IT!!!

Half of the bundle would not draw

Good taste, burn, and construction if you get a ggod one. However, about half of the bundle had a very poor draw. Several of the cigars were thrown away because they would not draw at all.

Good flavor, price and burn

For a buck and change I found the #5 Maduro a quality smoke. Draw was hard, but could be just on the 2 I tried. Will try a few more to see if this is the case. Burns well with nice ash, and seemed to be consistent with taste.

when there good there good>

I have been smoking these cigars for about two years now.wraper is good when it stays together.out of a bundle of 20 i get problely 12 to 15 good smoking cigars . i still think there worth it.

I'm going to have to try another before I judge!

The wrapper started to fall apart on my very first cigar! Not a good start as far as I'm concerned! I bought a bundle of 20-so hopefully this will be the exception and not the rule!! The flavor was pretty good, but the draw wasn't as easy as I'd like. It burned fairly well. Better luck next time?

this is a decent cigar, very enjoyable when fresh

I've only smoked the maduro, and I find it to be a good cigar when fresh, and, well made.

Tasty, but you have to baby this cigar

Flavor comes and goes but quite satisfying when its there. The wrapper requires a lot of TLC or it goes to pieces.

So-so. Nothing special.

Good thing they're cheap. The maduro wrapper was falling apart on me and the wrapper splits if you look at it sideways. I'd rather pay more and get a better cigar (try Teamo maduros), but a $30 a bundle, it's a fair price for what you get. All around it's nothing special, and it will get a cigar into your mouth for cheap.

Good taste, messy ash.

I smoked two of these so far and both of them tunneled severely. Very nice wraper and great flavor when it burned right. Ash was extremely flakey.
