Great smoke! Will definitely be in my humidor!!

I tried the sampler and loved all of them! My only problem now is which one to buy for my humidor as I'm on a pretty tight budget, otherwise I'd buy a box of each!! I'd love to go on Drew's Cigar Safari, it looks like a blast!

Pretty good for something REALLY different

It was a pretty good, but not exceptional smoke. It was mild, with surprising changes in taste, but was an uneven burn and began to fall apart toward the end. I wasn't disappointed, but it's not something I would choose to smoke often.

Drew Estates does it again!!

Yet again, i am satisfied by another quality stick from D.E. The Root is well constructed, and the presentation is excellent as well. The draw is perfect. The ash has yet to drop at 2in. is solid and a nice white hue. The burn was awesomely even at more than 1/2 the stick so far. lol .. the ash just dropped at 2 1/2 in. The flavor is unique, with just a whiff of a vanilla/cocoaish underflavor( you definitly taste the tobacco over anything else). It had me trying to determine what the flavor was it is that light. The finish was as enjoyable as the first draw, with the exception of the draw becomming a little warm near the nub, but otherwise a very very enjoyable smoke.... try a five pack and enjoy..

Are you all Crazy? These are horrible!

Unless you like Black and Mild or Swisher Sweets, these cigars a definate loser. I've smoked the Angel, the Clean Robusto and the Dirt Torpedo in the last 3 days. I cant remember a worse 3 smokes ever. The Clean Robusto was the most tollerable, but was vanilla flavored. Drew Estate or at least distributors need to disclaim that these are FLAVORED SMOKES. I feel a little dupped by all the good reviews of this smoke without knowing they are all flavored. Disgusting...dont waste your time with any of them.

May very well be the best cigar at any price

I ordered a box after doing a little looking around the website. They got really high marks by a good many reviewers. They arrived today and I just smoked one (down to the nub). All I can say is WOW. Great taste, great draw, great smoke, and just overall a perfect cigar.
I have been smoking Partagas, Graycliff, Perdomo Champagnes, and Fuente Hemingways. $ for $, these are as good or better. They aren't harsh, they have a great taste, and don't over power. Highly recommended!

I'm amazed that anyone could like this cigar. Before I lit it , I put it in my mouth to taste the wrapper and got a mouth full of off sweet taste that won't go away. I decided to be brave and light the thing and put it down after one puff. I knew if I continued I was gonna be sick. I may try lighting the wrong end, but not until this taste goes away. REVERSE THE CURSE

Like some others who have tried "Dirt", I found it to be almost sickeningly sweet & was going to throw the rest in the trash, before my wife came to the rescue. Not being a cigar smoker, she mistakingly lit the wrong end of a dirt while I was not home. just for the heck of it, I took a few draws, and to my great surprise, when smoked from the wrong end, this is a very good cigar, & avoids the overly sweet candy taste. I know it sounds crazy, but try it & I think it will change your mind about this cigar.

My favorite from Drew Estate!!!

I've been sampling the Drew Estate cigars ever since I first tried the Acid One and I'm a big fan. I DON'T like most of their cigars, BUT the ones that I do like...I REALLY like. The Dark Angel is a definite masterpiece and so far my favorite from Drew Estate and probably my favorite cigar period. The burn is slow and even, the draw is completely effortless and the smoke is smooth and complex. It gets better and better the further you get down the stick. The only complaint is that it isn't longer.haha

Life is to short not to smoke Naturals

I'm a big fan of most of Drew Estate's cigars. But the Natural Dirt Torpedo is in a league of its own. Probably 95% of the time I smoke, I smoke Montecristos, La Auroras, and other cigars with no added flavor. Every once in a while I like to switch things up a little and smoke a nice Acid, but I recently discovered the Natural Dirt Torpedo. This cigar is a must try for anyone who enjoys a whole bouquet of flavor. It starts out with many complex flavors and around the middle it reveals a smooth earthy flavor that is beyond amazing. Light one up before you die!

BEST I'VE TRIED

Only been smoking cigars about 6 months. I've tried dozens of different brands, etc... This is by far the best yet. I got one at the local golf course for $7. I've bought several since and a 5-pack from here. The flavor is just awesome, rich, sweet, nutty. It makes golf even more fun which is saying something. I'd recommend this cigar for anyone to try. It's earned a place in my humidor and now I'm trying other Drew Estate cigars..

Quite possibly the best from Drew Estate!

I've had two of these now and just ordered the 6 remaining sticks, leaving only boxes. The first time I smoked one about a month ago, I thought the flavor and the burn were a fluke, but I was mistaken. I smoked one tonight and the ash was so firm and so even that I had to exert some force to knock it off after almost 4 inches! I then smoked the rest of the cigar without having to dump the ash til it was time to reluctantly snuff it out. It's called "medium", but it is the sweetest medium I've ever smoked! No aftertaste, no bitterness, nice smoke, long-lasting...just a great cigar! The price isn't bad, as compared to others out there, and the size is just right for over a full hour's enjoyment.

I will start out that I am not a cigar connoiseur, but do enjoy them thoroughly. Nice cigar wise, I have tried these and the Romeo Y Julieta reserves. I enjoyed both, but I liked these a lot better. The taste was amazing and the draw was SO smooth. When I inhaled I couldn't feel a thing. The burn was a little uneven, but honestly, I don't care how uneven it burns if it is a good cigar. Made by Willie Wonka?

My first Natural by Drew...and my last. This smoke is just wrong, wrong, wrong. I was geeked to try this, and the scented pre-light aroma was enticing. After a V-cut, I checked the draw...WHOA...this thing has been dipped in a sugary, syrupy, saccharine-esque mixture that coated my mouth and lips like penny candy. This sweetness did not wane throughout the smoke, but cleverly masked any tobacco flavor it might carry, except for the bitter nicotine burn about halfway. At this point I expected the Punk'd crew to show up and laugh at my gullibility by smoking a pipe tobacco blunt they dipped in Kool-Aid. I tried to accept the sweetness as part of the experience, but it was so overpowering that no nuance or subtlety came through. Just sugar. I could go on about the loose draw and shoddy construction, but I have spent to much energy on this thing already. Save yourself and smoke a cigar, not this gimmick.

This is a great cigar. It goes w/just about everything from fine Cognac to espresso. Great draw, full bodied, spicy smoke that is good right down to the last puff. Disappointing

One end smells like chocolate, the other end like vanilla (kinda like an ex-girlfriend I once knew). On light up it is thoroughly unimpressive with an average tobacco flavor with a slight vanilla infused taste. For the price I honestly don't see why people go nuts over this line-up. I haven't tried all of them so perhaps one of the other in the line is better. I certainly enjoyed the "Root" more. I like flavored sticks, particularly Acid Blue label so its not like I'm a cigar snob. It's just that this one just isn't worth what they (Drew estates) is suggesting with its MSRP. I still have 4 left so I'll let 'em sleep and perhaps they'll get a bit more tatsty.

Tasty and smooth...a staple in my humidor!

I know a lot of people don't like flavored cigars but this one is different. Picked up 5 of these to change things up a bit and was blown away! Sweet tip but not syrupy, lots of smoke and a great easy draw. Nice salt and pepper ash that hangs on forever. Noted hints of vanilla... overall, reminds me of a good spiced rum. Great anytime of the day but an awesome after dinner smoke with a rum and coke!
My only complaint was that the burn was a little inconsistent - wants to keep going out in the last third (had this problem with 3 of the 5). Overall, I'd give this stick a 9.5 and a 10 if it wasn't for the burn. Despite the burn issue, this one is going to have a permanent spot in my humidor!

Received my first box that I purchased after reviewing the ratings of 9.5 averages, Good cigar, very aromatic that made me feel that I was smoking a pipe!

My first clean robusto was in a sampler pack I bought. I kept coming back for more in 4 packs and finally broke down and bought an entire box. When you factor in the 4 extra you get from Famous Smoke with a box purchase, the price isn't too bad. I like the initial sweet taste and so far haven't had any issues with draw or burn. When in the mood for a more conventional smoke, I smoke Rocky Patel 1990 and 1992 series.

Disappointed thats all i was

Ok,to start off I enjoy many of the drew estate cigars and I am very open to any new types and flavors of cigars with a company like drew estate I belive you have to be. The start of the cigar brought out great flavor and a decently thick smoke with great anticipation I had finally made it to the "egg" part where I expected a plethora of flavors which it claims to present, but instead I ended up with almost no smoke, no flavor, and one very HOT cigar. I wanted the cigar to be good so I kept trying to smoke it but the "egg" of the cigar is so loosely packed that all it does is get hot. I do not suggest trying this cigar for I am afraid to steer away any possible drew estate smokers for many of the cigars are great such as the natural juicy lucy, acid kuba kuba, or the acid blondie.

Dirt? More like mud.

My last order from Famous came with a sampler of a Natural Dirt and a Natural Root. I lit up the Dirt the other night, and nearly spit it out on first light. It had this off-sweet taste to it, almost like there was a cross between sugar and Sweet N Low in the entire wrapper. I hoped it would go away after a while, so I gave it a fair try. It didn't. This is the first cigar I have tossed away in under a half-hour of smoking and not even tried to finish. Avoid at all costs.

A tasty suprise!

Received a Drew Estates Root and Dirt torpedo in my last order from Famous. Sitting out by the fountain pool, sipping some 12 yr old scotch, I lit up the Dirt torpedo and received a sweet, tasty suprise. Sweet spices and a rich earthy flavor. A throughtly enjoyable stick which I ended up peeling off the label so I could enjoy all of it. My wife, who is not particularly endeared with most of my cigars, said that the smoke didn't bother her at all. In fact, she wanted to know if the cigar tasted as good as it smelled. I assured her that it did and plan on getting some more. This is not an everyday stick, but one that you might smoke in mixed company and get compliments on not offending everyone with "one of those stinky old cigars".

A Natural Beauty

This cigar is like perfume only in that it is intoxicating and alluring to the senses! I got sent a couple of these (thanks, guys!)with my last order. I decided to give one away and tried one. Natural Root is a shocker, but only in the best ways! Deep liquor and sweet anise blooms onto the palate, and an almost floral aroma abounds. Sweet and earthy, but well balanced in the strength dept. Lots of flavors, this one keeps you guessing until the end...and you don't want it to end. These aren't the "sticky sweet" kind of flavored cigars, because the geniuses at Drew Estate made a "flavored" cigar using only natural tobacco and nothing else. It's so subtle and unique that even jaded cigar smokers will respond to this one immediately. Although a little pricey, I can certainly understand why after only a few puffs. They should call these "SuperNaturals"!

Why cigar smoking is banned in so many places

Natural root is to cigars what wine coolers and boonesberry farm 20/20 is to fine wine. if you have never had a good cigar, you will absolutely love this cigar. Wrapper very sweet (not to my tast). I'm fairly new to good, handmade cigars, so take my comments with a grain of salt. Nice draw. A good smoke, but the taste seemed a little thin-bodied and not as complex as what I have been smoking (Cohibas and Montecristos). I normally smoke 'em to the end, but the Dirt Torpedo got a little harsh after halfway through. Aftertaste was a little bitter, too.
