Not impressed... very bitter, and not much else to say.

Fantistico

This is a full bodied powerhouse. Its a perfect 10! Doesn't taste like "coffee" or "nuts" or "chocolate"; it does however, taste like a great cigar. The grocery store sells coffee and nuts for about the same price (paid 3.99) but I'll stick with this instead. Nope, no "nutmeg" here just mind-blowing, billowing clouds of aromatic first and second hand smoke. I think Oliva must have a secret crop of magic leaves set back just for these cigars. Maybe they are laced with crack, whatever it is, it works very well!

What a pleasant surprise for less than a 5 spot!

I enjoyed a week up at Whistler in B.C. over the kids spring break, March 2008. After hitting the slopes for 4 days straight, the legs were burning. I hit the hot tub and pulled out this Oliva series G I had brought up in my Otterbox. It was just the ticket! After a few weeks in the humi it was nice and soft to the touch. The pre draw was easy and the smoke just rolled out of the thing! It was just tasty from the get go. A bit sweeter than I expected actually. The smoke was a creamy, thick pleasure that smacked of dark chocolate. Even though I was swiggin a local microbrewed Ale along with it, I could not get enough of the taste of this cigar. This one went right down til my fingers burned. I hated to put it down. And this was the longest ash I have ever managed. Even while sitting in the tub! I finally ashed it off after over %75 smoked just to avoid the drop in the hot tub. First time I searched out a box to buy of any cigar.

Classic "Nic".

The Padron might be the king of the Nic heap, but these "G's" are about as good as it gets. (and Less expensive) Recomended.

Love Them

I have tried most of the sizes in the Serie G barn and I love everyone of them. This one is no exception. Because of the size difference between this one and the Belicoso it is a cooler smoke and it really adds to the flavor. If you don't have as much time then smoke the Belicoso but if you have some time to kill then light one of these up and enjoy. You won't be disappointed.

AVERAGE AT BEST

NOT A BAD CIGAR BUT VERY AVERAGE AT BEST. THE CONSTRUCTION AND BURN WAS VERY GOOD. PERHAPS A FEW MONTHS IN THE HUMIDOR WILL ADD MORE DEPTH TO THIS ONE.

Wow. Really great cigar.

I ordered a box of the Oliva Serie G Maduro Belicosos after reading rave reviews on other sites. Superb. I've never had a cigar taste this good right out of the box. I can't wait to see what a few months in the coolidor do to enhance the flavor. I really enjoy the bitter chocolate taste to compliment a strong cup of coffee. At $80 a box, these mini-belicosos are top-notch.

Nice, smooth smoke

This small, box-pressed cigar is a pure delight. The prelight draw was very easy and had a wonderful smell. Every puff produced lots of aromatic smoke. I thoroughly enjoyed this cigar and will certainly get more. The size makes it a perfect short smoke. Highly recommended for the price!

nice smoke!

Oliva is becoming one of my favorite brands - you can find better smoke but not for the money.

My first full box of cigars

Not too happy when I lit the first one up right out of the box. Really tight on the draw. This is one of those cigars that has to sit for a week or two. Take the time and you'll be pleasantly surprised. I'll buy more I'm sure.

Unbelievable Cigar

I just received a 5 pack of these about 3 weeks ago. I let them age in my humidor but I finally couldn't stand it. This cigar is superb. It had an even burn, started out on the mild side but gradually grew into a delicious medium bodies smoke. It even held an ash until I was halfway done!! I would definitely order this cigar if I were you. I can't wait to try the other sizes in this series. I'll definitely be ordering a box of these next payday!!

Nice smoke, nice package, nice price

Been looking for a nice small maduro cigar for about a year. One with full flavor that burned well and drew well at a reasonable price. FOUND IT! Bought these on line at auction and smoked one the day after I recieved them. It's what I've been looking for! Could go out on the porch and enjoy a nice smoke before supper without feeling bad about putting it down when my honey called and said the food was ready. I don't relight after a few minutes so the large ring gauge and long cigars I usually smoke didin't fit this bill very well. But this nice cigar has what I've been looking for. Good flavor in the filler and the wrapper seem to accent the filler and for a small ring gauge and box pressed it draws easily. What a find, try some of these I believe you'll be pleasently suprised. ( I usually smoke La Gloria Cubans R series or CAO Brazilia or Italia as reference to these)

Impressive is the only word that fits here

Oliva Cigars are slowly becoming my favorite in unexpected ways. First, the Flor de Oliva bundles, and then there's this beauty. Crisply box pressed, and the maduro wrappers are dark-chocolatey and flawless. Masterfully rolled, they are firm and hold their shape well during the smoke...and there's lots of flavorful smoke. I feel that this cigar, as well as the Oliva family, represents the new standard in cigar-making, as well as a testament to the quality of tobacco being used. This reminds me very much of the Victor Sinclair Vintage Select, in that both are out of this world in chocolate and black coffee nuances that will have you burning your fingers without even realizing it, and wondering where the time went...

NOT !!

I really wanted to like this cigar. I bought two five-packs from different sources and had the same problem(s) with all ten cigars, and I was never able to smoke any of them to the 50-yard line before giving up in disgust.
The taste - what I could get of it - was nothing special at all and there are 50-cent cigars that easily top the taste of this one. The "stake-through-the-heart" though is these cigars were all packed so tightly I had to puff like an old time steam engine just to keep them lit, nevermind get any respectable volume of smoke from them.
They look very attractive but so does my ex-wife and, believe me, you never want to meet her either.

Excelent Cigar- Even Better Deal!

I originally wanted this more for the case than the cigar, but once i tried the Maduro I was HOOKED! My first impression was that it tasted kind of like dark chocolate cake with some coffee grounds thrown in for flavor. My local Cigar shop ran out of the Maduros, so I tried the Cameroon and to my surprise, it was a wonderful, nutty cigar. Both worth more than the CHEAP price they sell 'em for, and together WITH a travel Humidor? To say this is a must is a gross understatement! Buy this- you won't be disappointed.

Oliva Week

I've really been smoking more 'O's than any other cigar for the past week. This is unusual for me,as I have little brand loyalty,but...I've turned into an 'O' Ho. And am very happy with the Segundos.Since I'm buying Christmas gifts before buying myself another cooler,I'll trade a couple or whatever will work for a couple of the Grand Maduro Perfectos.E-mail included.
Gary,I hope you can obtain the segundos of these perfectos.I'm also becoming a Perfecto Ho.

Wonderful Strong Spicey, Great STRONG Cigar

This is a wonderful cigar. It's a strong, spicey cigar that burns well. Smells and looks great. I have had a hard time finding them here on the plains. I am now a happy man!
