consistently good

This cigar has become one of my favorites, regardless of price. After trying one, I bought a box. Have smoked 5 or 6 and every one has had very good flavor, aroma, draw and burn with no bitter aftertaste.

A Mixed Blessing

Snagged a five pack of these a month or so ago here for cheap. I love the Serie O, so I figured why not try the Serie G, eh? These Serie G taste great - a true medium bodied flavorful smoke with a touch of sweetness but everything about this cigar is loose. I figured the first cigar of this pack was the exception, but I've since found that it held true for all five cigars in the pack -- the draw is very loose and the cigar isn't packed well and quite soft (not overly moist or too dry, just soft, like there isn't enough tobacco in the filler). The first cigar actually unraveled on me after the first inch or so. It was annoying, but I still was able to smoke it. I was more careful handling the other four Serie G cigars as I smoked them, but all were somewhat disappointing -- too bad, considering the great flavor. I know Famous here dubs the Serie O as full-flavored but having smoked more than a few of them, the Serie O is on more on the medium side then full, especially if you smoke them slowly. Bottom line = avoid the Serie G; it has too many issues. Try the Serie O -- it raises the bar on the premium medium flavored/medium strength cigar!

Good smoke at a good price

I love this cigar. It has really good flavor but at the same time, it won't knock you on your @ss. It's a great smoke to share with a newbie or the occasional smoker. I've never smoked one that didn't draw and burn flawlessly (and I've had several). You can't go wrong with a box of these!

nice!!

being the one who likes to try new things, i am always looking for a different cigar experience. often i am pleasantly surprized by a different taste from each new stick. Other times i am disapointed and quickly look forward to the next stick. This is one of those times where i am pleasantly surprized. The series G is a good, medium bodied, handsomely flavored, and pleasant looking stick. For the quality of the smoke, the value is very good. the series G is well constructed. The draw is easy, the ash is very firm, and thick(dropped at almost 2in.)Nice grey-white ash. the flavor is compareable to a rocky vintage92, just not quite as smooth nor mellow as the vintage92. All in all if you want a quality stick at a good price you can't go wrong with the Series G....

nice

Excellent presentation in a cedar sleeve lined alum. tube that enhances the taste of this Cameroon wrapped toro treat, easy draw, with an even burn. A mild to med. body, with a nutmeg/ wooded light spice finish, a nice change up when ya want a break from ERH & Pepin smokes, without sacrificing taste & quality

Terrible!

Ok, I tried one of these as soon as I got them and hated it! I let the other four sit in my humidor for three months. I broke one out last night hoping that the additional aging would help. I was wrong. It was just as bad as I rembered it. The tatse was awful and the smell was terrible. I couldn't even get half way through it. Don't waste your money. I'm glad I only wasted mine on a five pack.

Excellent smoke, unbeatable proce

At about $4 a smoke, you can't go wrong, especially when it's as flavorable and well-constructed as it is. I've smoked a hand full of these and have yet to come across a dud. Pretty smooth, wonderful aroma, great flavors, good draw, etc. etc. Highly recommend!

At least it was only a 5 pack

Ordered a robusto 5 pack as a possible supplement to my Torano 1916's. Initially disappointing. Still disappointing after 7 months in the humidor. This is a good cigar to give to mouchers - should discourage them from asking again.

I've tried 2--never again

Poorly made cigar--no weight to it. Starts harsh, stays harsh and finishes harsh. Uneven burn. Not sure why the huge difference between this one and Oliva's other solid product but life's too short to choke back another one of these.

My favorite morning smoke

I really love the Oliva Serie G. I bought a box of Torpedos with the intention of them being my morning smoke. Now I find myself really enjoying these more and more often. Great tasting Cameroon wrapper with the classic Nicaraguan flavors. I can't believe a cigar can be this good for such a low price.

Must have

Bought a 5 pack and let it sit in the humidor for 3 days. Easy to light, appearance is great, lots of flavor. It burned well and had a nice ash that fell off 1/4 way to the band. Good price for this smoked. I used a soft flame when lighting.

no bad reviews on this one

One word to describe this cigar,"spicy". If you see a bad review on the Serie G, they don't need to be smoking cameroon. This is one of the best cammie's out there, truly special. I prefer the corona. Any thicker ring, and the spice is super rich, and overwhelming, (for me). For all the cameroon fans out there, this is one of the best.

Satisfaction

Just a couple out of the box smoked slightly off but nothing big and they straightened out before the cigar was half smoked. The taste was sensational and satisfying. Very distinct aroma, which I really loved.I will buy more of these soon. Gold taste for a copper price!

Sure bet

Tried a 5-pack of the Series G on Gary's recommendation. Just ordered a box of Belicosos. What a great deal(5 free robustos). Everyone I give one too falls in love with them. A great medium-bodied, creamy smoke that burns great. You won't find a better cigar for the money. Thanks Gary.

overall great cigar

I tried the serie o first and loved the smoothness, so I went for serie g after reading it was a step stronger. I ordered the robusto 5 pack and smoking the nub of first one right now. It is what it says and thats a bit more body with a hint of spice to go along with mocha flavors is what I tasted. If it was any spicier, it would have been too much but the balance is just right. Just a wonderfully made cigar. It burnt pretty well and plenty of smoke to enjoy the flavors.

Excellent Cammie

There is a reason why Cigar Aficionado rated this so highly; it is an excellent Cammie. The Oliva family knows their way around tobacco and this is one example. Among the more full-flavored Cameroons you will smoke, the fillers nonetheless do not overpower the delicate flavor of the wrapper - and don't let the small size fool you. This stick burns slow and even and will deliver an unexpected amount of smoke for the size. Beautiful construction, and a cigar that is in one of my humidors all the time.

Another Great One From Oliva!

Just had one of these last night. On initial inspection it has an awesome wrapper leaf with very small veins. It has a small foot for lighting which shows what kind of craftmanship went into making this cigar. The first few draws are very tight due to the small foot but on the third or fourth draw it begins to open up because the foot is getting bigger. Very pleasant smoke. It starts out as medium bodied but it tapers throughout the cigar so near the end I would say that it turned into more of a full bodied cigar. I'm going to get a lot more of these to smoke over the years!!

Outstanding!

I was given a Double Robusto by a friend who got some cigars, from the Oliva rep, at the local stick shop. My normal smokes are all the Rocky P's, so I was very impressed by the overall quality and construction of the Oliva. I used a punch cutter for this one. I toasted the foot and you could just tell this was going to be a good smoke. The cap was smooth and silky, as a Monticristo, as I continued to light up...overall a most pleasant aroma...a great grey ash that went on forever, and a real pleasure to smoke. Enjoyed with a glass of Warre's Warrior Porto.

Great Cigar - But need more

I liked this cigar very much. Excellent draw, nice spice, tons of smoke. Hint of sweetness after initial light, and although the spice gets more agressive as the stogie gets shorter, it never seems bitter or overpowering.

Good smoke, Great Price

Ok I read the previous reviews and I think these guys are being quite harsh on the poor little Oliva. This is a pleasant smoke with good flavors throughout. There was very good consistency and the taste can best be described as mellow. I would describe this as a light to medium bodied cigar, that for the price is worth a try. Overall a very pleasant experience.
