Olor Fuerte Cigars

Olor Fuerte Poquito is the perfect small cigar!

I have found that the poquito is medium bodied with a wonderful righteous flavor. It is well constructed and when "punched" holds it shape until one can barely hold the lighted nub.

Rolled way too tight!

The taste was good but it was so hard to smoke that it turned me off this brand. I felt like I was trying to suck a milkshake of frozen ice cream through a coffee straw. Fuerte should be better.

Great cigar, priced right!!!

Not perfect, "but what is". I have ordered several boxes over the past couple of years and this magnum has become one of my favorites. After three weeks in the humidor (cellophane packaging removed) this cigar is practically unbeatable!

Very enjoyable

Good burn, smooth down to the end. Great smoke for the golf course or sitting on the patio with a cocktail.

A Beaute, and it smokes well too

I'm wondering if the fellows who don't like this stick have been removing the wrapper before lighting. It's a very attractive cigar with a nearly perfect draw (after 2-3 weeks in the humidor). I'd like it even more if the flavor had more texture, but it's a very nice sunny afternoon companion. It offers nice notes of coffee and chocolate, produces a thick screen of steely blue smoke, and doesn't break the bank. At $4 a stick, it's perhaps a bit overpriced, but when paried with a nice freebie or offered on a 2 fer, it's a definite "buy."

Great morning cigar to pair with coffee!!

A smooth and complex smoke that makes a cup of coffee taste like a chocolate bar. Loads of coffee and cocoa in this smoke. The cigar is not all that dynamic but the pairing with coffee is marvelous. A great starter smoke with a morning cup of coffee. Mild-medium smoke that really starts your day.

A good looking cigar....that's where it ends!!!

I won a 5-pack in a recent auction and smoked the first cigar last night. It's supposed to be a "full bodied" cigar. I've smoked more "medium bodied" cigars that tasted fuller than this one did. I give it an A+ for looks and construction ....an F for taste, draw and especially fullness. Don't waste your money...if you're looking for a "full-bodied" cigar....keep on looking. Maybe I'll send the remaining 4 to my brother in Florida....he loves mild cigars!!!!

It's A Winner !

Eye appeal right away, nice wrapper oozing with oils. Peppery notes up front that tamed down right away. Deep rich flavor of espresso and chocolate with a charred wood hint at the half way point. Draw was decent and the burn was even to the end. Not quite as strong as some but still very nice.

This review was written about Olor Fuerte Robusto by NA Johnson of NY on August 18, 2007

stronger than a maduro !!!!

My only major problem was that the wrapper was not snug. It kept falling off. It ruined the whole smoke .

Can U Canue

Bought a box of 25. Almost every one of them burned unevenly. Good to smoke outside only- Terrible tasting wrapper - but lots of tobacco taste in the smoke. Would never buy another stick.

This review was written about Olor Fuerte Magnum by Glenn Pangrazzi of Michigan on August 14, 2007

Weak on construction, Great on taste!

My first impression of this cigar was a little negative. I'd had it sitting in my humidor for about 2 weeks when I smoked it. I normally use a drill, but I left it in my golf bag so I had to resort to a cutter. I cut the cigar carefully, so as not to cut over the shoulder. As soon as I cut it, the shoulder cap came off and I noticed some unraveling of the wrapper. I rolled the cigar in my lips and tried to keep the wrapper from unraveling any more (successfully, I might add). That was the end of the negative stuff though. This is a class A smoke if you like a full bodied cigar. Smoked evenly. GREAT nose on this one. Really very pleasant with some cocoa and toasty undertones. I really liked this one. Just a little weak on the construction side, but maybe I just lucked out with the one cigar out of the box that had an issue. Still highly recommended.

A really good smoke!

This stick burned perfectly,no touch-ups and even all the way. Draw was a bit tight but I'm picking nits. Lots of smoke with a woody, cocoa profile. A medium fuerte, but very smooth. Smoked it with a black and tan, very good. I was impressed. I highly recommend it.

Excellent Cigar definite keeper

Excellent cigar and for the price you can't beat it,A definite must try, I enjoy it as much as my Trinidad Belicoso.

Bad selection for me

I included this brand in my search for a favorite in my recent return to the smoking world via "good" cigars. Perhaps I received a faulty "run" but I have smoked (or tried to smoke) two of the five pack and have, in both cases, thrown away at least two thirds of the cigar as unsmokeable. The wrappers in both cases fell apart almost immediately, the taste was rough, and worst of all, I could not get either one to draw without near hurculean effort. I am reluctant to post an unsatisfactory "numbers" rating because I don't want to be unfair if I simply received a couple of lemons.

One of the best cigars ive smoked

A few weeks ago I ordered a sample bundle from famous-smoke and included was an Olor Fuerte Robusto. I was a little skeptical about it at first, as I'm not much of a full bodied cigar smoker. As I lit it up, I expected to get that first burst of flavor, followed by some bite, but to my suprise there was none. As I sat for about an hour with this cigar, each puff was more desired than the last. I had a little urge just to chew on it a little bit, it tasted so good! afterwards, I decided to invest in some more and it was the best decision. These cigars are incredible!

Decent Sampler Pack Cigar

Bought the 3x3 sampler from FSS because it worked out to great prices for the RPs and Cohibas. The Olors were sort of a throw-in on the deal and did not expect much. Fuerte seems somewhat of a misnomer as they seem milder than the name implies. They delivered a decent smoke for the price I paid but have somewhat of a short finish. There are better smokes at the box price, e.g. Sancho Panza Extra Fuerte.

Not good

Taste like a turd. Very tarry taste. Uneven burn. Goes out. I got a free humidor with my box so it's not all lost! My dollar Fuentes are better. Save your money. I even tried to aged them that didnt work. This is the worst cigar in my all of my box's

A gift to the senses

I am a new cigar smoker, and have been sampling different kinds. I got the 9 pack sampler and quickly fell in love with this cigar. I normally smoke the padron 3000's, but this is hands down my favorite. Everyone I have smoked is perfect, not too firm, and not to soft, and just the right amount of spring to it. Every cigar has lit perfectly, and has had an easy smooth silky draw of smoke. I was most impressed with how rich and creamy it is, and the light aroma is warm and pleasant. For the new smoker like me, I highly recommend this cigar.

A bargain

A great smoke. I bought a few 5-packs to try. This is smoother than the Perdomo Champagnes that I have been smoking. A great cigar from start to finish. I will be buying these again.

Taste was ok............when I could keep it lit.

OK so the taste was good but boy this cigar was tough to light, burned terribly uneven, and went out several times. did I get a bad one?

This is a nice cigar but the draw can be better.

Very Sweet and mellow smoke

I've smoked a lot of premiums and this one is in the running for the top spot in my humidor!. Very sweet and creamy. For a medium-full flavored smoke, this one is smooth all the way to the "nub". I have to thank my "better half" for getting me these as a gift. She will be sorry - I WANT MORE! Julius Stuckey

This cigar was a long smooth full body burn. Great taste. Will buy a box next time.

Great Cigar!!

This is an outstanding smoke. Just got done with a 5 pack and every one of them burned perfectly. Great flavor, not as full strength as I was expecting but close. Smoked all 5 down as far as I could. If they were just a little bit cheaper (for a house brand) I would have a new favorite and keep them on hand all the time! Outstanding!!

Very nice smoke

I got 5 of these with a order,When I first opened the bag they came in and smelt them I was very impressed with the aroma.Left them in my humi for a month and tried 1,very nice I thought. So I had another 1 a week later and am so impressed with them they are all but gone.I will be buying more of these in the new year,Very nice smoke and worth the money

1 strike 2 to go

Bought as part of "Famous 3 X 3 Selections B" on sale. Thankfully I know that RP 1990 and Cohiba in this selection are nice smokes. The Olor was the wild card pick. Burned fine and draw was nice. Full flavored yes but got a bit acrid before the half-way point. Kept hoping that it would get better but it didn't - for me. That said 2 more to go so I'll try 1 more and give one to a friend for second opinion. C'est la vie.

Not Bad

These cigars are pretty good. I got them in a set of 12 with the travel case and cutter as a gift. The ash and burn are both fantastic but after a long night i could still taste them in the morning. But overall a good smoke..and I would lean them toward Medium also..

As fine a short smoke available

DELIGHTFUL small smoke - I've tried so many and consistency is a mainstay with "Poquitos". Subtle start moving into a creamy rich taste with hang time heading right down to the nub. Can't ask for much more than this from any reasonably priced smoke. Many smokes at this ring size tend to heat up and bite...Not this one

Skeptic No More

While I hadn't tried the Fuerte Olor line, I was skeptical. This stick is a winner in every category! Great construction/burn/draw. Earthy, chocolaty, spicy with a hint of leather. Full flavor without being overbearing. Give yourself an hour and a half to enjoy this one.

Wonderful

Absolutely wonderful. A great well made cigar. This cigar is FULL of flavor but not over powering. A perfect cigar for any time of day. You can certainly pay more, but doubt you will get more than this Belicoso delivers.

dissapointing but OK as a daytime 'boat' smoke

nothing to get worked up about here. OK but just smoking for the sake of it really. if these are Famous's idea of an instore brand then i hope you get rich on selling them because like a poor house wine they are nothing special really

Silk Stockings, Tight Skirt

This girl leaves me tongue tied. Her skirt is so short and she keeps crossing her legs while pumping her heels high in the air. My heart goes "pitter patter" when we are together. She is so in charge of me, always taking chances with her cleavage. This little feline has got me whipped! I imagine her when I am with other women.

get a box of these

I just tried my First (and no way is it the last) Fuerte Robusto that came in the famous smoke15 cigar sampler pack. a whole lot of buttery smoke, burned especially well with firm white ash. It never got hot or nasty. I think I'll get a box of the Olor Fuerte Churchills just to go fishing with.

Good Cigar

I smoked a few Olors years ago and have just found them again. Enjoyed them then even more now. Hard to keep lit and uneven burn, unparalled taste.

This review was written about Olor Fuerte Lonsdale by Warren Madden of Texas on April 11, 2006

Not bad at all

That sums it up for me. A nice medium-full flavor smoke at a really good price. The robusto burned a little lopsided, but it was nothing a little relight wouldn't fix. At this price if it were just a tad stronger, it might become my everyday.

This review was written about Olor Fuerte Robusto by Jason of Youngstown on April 6, 2006

OK Smoke But Not At This Price

Just finished one of these cigars. The flavor was ok. The burn was a little inconsistent but nothing I can't get through. It seemed to get a little more harsh toward the end and burned a little too hot for the last 1/3. I don't mind this cigar but not at this price. I can name a dozen $5.00 cigars that are much better. Sell it for $2.50 or $3.00 and it would be ok.

YAWN

I finally broke out my Robusto Dark Nat after a couple months in the humidor: very, very, very mild but pleasant smoke. So mild in fact, that it would be similar to sticking one's head in a cloud of steam and trying to evaluate the various characteristics--what characteristics? The construction was fine, the draw was easy, the burn was even, "the taste" was never hot or acrid. There's a lot of mechanics going for it, but the taste was so nonexistent that I didn't stick around to the end. Going to bed was more appealing.

This review was written about Olor Fuerte Robusto 5 Pack by Steve C of Mill Creek, WA on April 4, 2006

New Favorite

I have been trying every full strength cigar I can get my hands on as my palate has moved that direction in the last couple years. This my cigar smoking friends is a new favorite. The robusto has no uneven burn issues as its magnum big brother does and the draw and flavor are superb!

Rich, smooth and creamy like a pint of good stout.

It is hard to find anything wrong with this cigar. Attractive, flavorful and burned perfect. Well built cigar.

most satisfying

I enjoyed smoking the Olor Fuerto Robusto very much indeed. Full bodied and flavorful.

This review was written about Olor Fuerte Robusto by Jonathan Silverman of Beit Shemesh, Israel on March 12, 2006

Rich, flavorful, strong, but uneven

Wonderful, dark, rich flavor, earthy, woody, loamy, which begins as soon as the foot is fully lit and remains throughout the smoke. The only problem is that the construction is inconsistent, with loose packing destroying the evenness of the burn. Solid ash, beautiful deep color. This would be an outstanding cigar, if the construction allowed a full smoke, but fiddling with soft packing and off-center draw sometimes prevents enjoyment of the entire cigar.

This review was written about Olor Fuerte Robusto by Overworked of CA on February 18, 2006

Whoa, what a cigar!

I usually smoke mild cigars but this whopper is without a doubt one of my favorites, and will always have a place in my humidor. Wonderful taste, nice aroma, easy draw and a consistent easy burn. Worth every penny.

Believe the hype...

An excellent cigar!!! Combines the best of many worlds, a very difficult feat for most. I find them identical to the Partagas and to my taste better! But please don't pay any mind to the Amateurs that speak of draw and burn problems. It's amazing how it does not occur to them that it might be too dry or wet. They describe the symptoms but don't realize the ailment.

Magnanimous Smoke.... Indeed!

Wow! What a huge smoke! From start to finish this oily wrapped monster is full of flavor. Nice ash, great draw, and the construction on my 5 pack was flawless.I'm a lover of big ring, full flavor cigars and this is a fantastic smoke for the price. Definitely not for the timid, but certain to be savored by all bold cigar lovers!

Very satisfying.

"Oh Lord" is an understatement! This stick deserves a, "Oh My God in Heaven! I've read the most recent reviews and I guess I was blessed with a special batch. I won the bid on 2 five packs and let me say that they are superb. The ash stays on as long as I let it, and the burn is even all the way down. The draw is effortless and the taste, "Oh My God In Heaven", the taste is lip smack'en good ! My Congratulations to Famous for Olor Fuerte, because they hit a Home Run with this cigar. Keep up the good work fella's. I'm looking foward to trying the churchill !

Must be Short Filler

Wow, am I disappointed in this cigar. Every one I smoke leaves ashes in my lap. You can't get 3/4 inch of ash to stay on the cigar. I'll tear one apart to verify. I expect to spend $35 for short fillers, not $89! Poor excuse for a cigar.

This review was written about Olor Fuerte Lonsdale by John of Virginia on November 30, 2005

Dramatic Drop in Quality

I've included Olar Fuerte in my humidor for about two years because they've always been a good value, but not recently. The past two boxes (June and Sept, '05) were packed waaaay tooooo tight -- almost impossible draw -- and the flavor is gone. Dont' know if they changed suppliers, but this is NOT the cigar I've enjoyed in the past. Will try a 5-pack in a couple months, but otherwise I'm moving on.

This review was written about Olor Fuerte Belicoso by Phil of Oregon on November 6, 2005

Too expensive for what it offers

This was not from a 5-pack, but from the Famous XV Sampler, and this is straight from my dossier. The first puff, pure coffee, Wow! Super easy draw with rich maduro body and great cloud. Chewy, especially with the bourbon I was drinking, and the aroma of chocolate. Ash was perfect, so was burn, and a dose of spice really takes over on the palate as an aftertaste. And then... everything stopped. After one inch, there was no flavor, other than leather. Still rich and robust, but no complexity, nothing tasty or interesting. Became almost overpowering, though never really harsh. There was the hint of a sweet, chocolatey finish, but there was no way I was "nubbin" this meaty smoke. I include value in my own ratings, and this one gets a 6, not an 8.

This review was written about Olor Fuerte Robusto 5 Pack by Scott of Michigan on November 5, 2005

One of the best

I do not disagree that there might be a few burn problems with this cigar but in my opinion, it is one of the smoothest, fine tasting cigars that I have smoked. A staple in my humidor.

Disappointed at first; but.....

My initial experience with these cigars was one of disappointment. The first few had burn problems - they were difficult to keep lit. After a few weeks in my humidor, however, the problem seemed to resolve itself. They are a good cigar at a good price (got 2 boxes for the price of one) and I would order them again.

This review was written about Olor Fuerte Belicoso by Dom M of La Luz, NM on October 31, 2005

Not much bang for the buck!

Reading the catalog, and some of the reviews, I expected a better-constructed cigar than this. Draw problems have plagued the regular Olors, and I found this cigar to be no different. There are much better cigars available at half the price.

Don't Waste Your Money

Since I tried an Olor Fuerte Corona, and found it utterly delicious, I decided to splurge on a box of Lonsdales. Big mistake! I would love to report on the flavor, but it didn't have any. After I ran a poker through it, to break up the plug, I waited patiently for the flavor to develop. I suspect Olor Fuerte got a truckload of lousy (Mexican?) filler, and needs to use it up. Famous sells better built - and much better tasting cigars for HALF the price of this dud.

OMNI POTENT

I won 5 pack of these on the auction site. They are very well built with a dark oily wrapper. They burn even and produce alot of smoke. This is a FULL flavored smoke, very rich with hints of espresso and cocao but quite smooth. They age well in the cedar. It is a little strong for an every day smoke for me but a great change of pace smoke.

What a great cigar!

What a terrific smoke! Everything about it was perfect. Long white ash, beautiful draw, even burn and a great finish. I would consider this one perhaps a little more on the medium side than full-bodied, but still packed a punch. The flavors were complex and provided surprises at different points while smoking it. And this was only after 3 days in my humidor. I WILL give up some valuable real estate in my humidor to keep 3 or 4 of these. Highly recommended.

Impressed my Vice President with this one!

Handed my Vice President of Sales one of these great smokes and he was knocked off his chair with it. We both agreed that it was an EXCELLENT smoke, deep & robust and the aromas grabbed the attention of our fellow cigar smokers and I was offered a COHIBA in trade for one of mine, I declined the offer, enough said I guess.

Great Cigar

First Cigar of the New Year. I ordered a single based on the reviews of the other Olor Fuente line. Olor got this one right. Great burn, equal taste all the way through. Taste was a very full, like you would expect from a dark wrapper, yet smooth. Ash wasn't as tight as I like, but the draw was great. Burned evenly all the way through as well. Definetly adding it to my favorites and buying a box in my monthly buy.

Very Nice. "FULL" Flavor is an Understatement!

These cigars are very flavorful, but are the strongest cigars I've tasted to-date. These should be categorized as "Extra-Full" flavored. The Robusto was hard to light (3 matches!) and it suffered from severe "canoeing" up until the very last puff. Not an easy thing to smoke. Nevertheless, it was very tasty. I plan to buy more.

The old OLAR brand was a favorite. Not the new one

Taste is good. If you get one to burn for 1/2 of the stick then call me. Guess that is why they give a lighter away with a box.

Not a bad cigar

I got the sampler pack and this was the first cigar that I have tried so far. The first thing i have to say is about the draw. I have smoked many cigars but this one takes the cake with best draw. it was like sucking through a lead pipe! There was not any resistance at all. Who knows - it may have been just the cigar that was sent to me. The taste was OK but there wasn't anything that made me want to go out and buy stock in the company. It was smooth and not bitter on the tongue. The burn on the one i smoked was not good though. It burned to one side then the other until the end of the cigar when it evened out. But the draw remains the best I ever had. I like the construction. There was not any pieces peeling off. Hope this helps you decide.
