Great Stick

Great cigar 1st Class and great price point..Pardon better watch out for this one! Get them if you can! Well worth it!

Practically impossible to stay away

It's one of these precious revelations you want to keep to yourself.
I can say it without a risk of being cheesy: this cigar nurtures soul.
Everything about it is honed precision. From beautiful deep red shade wrapper, to the perfect draw and consistency that lasts until the nub. Very small nub. Combination of strength/balance is just what I was looking for (for a while now).
It is at a price range I am not readily breech, but the product is worth every penny of it. Must have. Must have. Must...

primo cigar, i do prefer other sizes though

Excellent cigar if you can find them. The figurado, although beautiful, doesn't have the consistency of burn/flavor of some other sizes I've tried, such as the belicoso. Some reviews describe these as dry, they come boxed without cellophane. I have had a box aging in my humidor for about 6 mos and they are in impeccable shape. Smoke 'em if you've got 'em.

Good Cigar

Smooth with hazelnut, toffee and espresso notes. It can heat up though if not smoked a little slowly. Not really all that full bodied in the sense of a La Flor or Antano, but a pleasant smoke nonetheless.

AVOID

Avoid. Stay away. Not good. Losers. Send all remaining boxes to me...and I will have them destroyed. Really, make me smoke them (please)...I'll sacrifice myself.

Great smokes

Well, I waited 2 months for cigars to arrive. It was worth the wait. They are great cigars. Great draw, lots of smoke, and flavorful. Strong but fortunately not to the level of the chisel. What more could a smoker want?

Excellent and nearly perfect!

Great smoke. I have both the Torpedo and Robusto. The Torpedo was rated 94 on Cigar Aficionado and I would agree. My only complaint is the burn which tends to get stuck on one side about 1/3 of the way through. Occasionally I would get one that burns great, but most I find that I have to re-light. It's frankly delicious.

Smooth, what is up with the wrapper

Picked one of these up at my local shop and took it home. Great looking cigar that was smooth and buttery to smoke. I did however have an issue with the wrapper flaking, almost like it was going to come apart. It started at the end which burned away quickly but got worse after I removed the band. Thinking back on it I remembered seeing one completely unraveled in the tobacco shop a few weeks before, I even made a comment to the guy who runs the shop. Given that my wrapper issue is not the norm it could become one of my favorites.

Outstanding!!!

Bought 1, had it that evening. Next day, bought a whole box (churchills). Outstanding. So far I've had the churchill, robusto, lancero, torpedo, and figurado. All terrific smokes. Perhaps the best flavor I've experienced from a cigar.

Nice and Easy

took twice as long as any cigar for the taste to kick in but when it did it was well worth the wait. best part is that it took about 2 hours to smoke. lit it at the start of a baseball game and didnt put it down till the 7th inning stretch.

YUK

First of all this cigar had the most beautiful oily wrapper, very well constructed, draw was perfect with a solid white ash, BUT it tasted like a big nasty cigarette!.....WTF?....I call 'em like I see 'em, at $7.00 a pop at the local bm, I won't be revisiting this one

excellent

Rich,smooth,perfect burn,no nasty after taste...a winner!

Good but Dry

Have only tried the Double Toros and, although they taste good and burn fairly evenly, they are incredibly dry. I have had wrapper problems on every 2/4. Not sure with the Humidor holding steady at 70°???

An amazing cigar, Oliva hit the nail on the head

Ever heard the phrase, "Speak softly and carry a big stick."? This is the perfect embodiment of that phrase. This baby has thick, creamy smoke and a finish that you wont believe. Better plan to spend some time, because this big stick last's its value. If you're looking for a great smoke, Here it is.

One of the top three cigars I've ever smoked!

This is a very complex and satisfying smoke. Full bodied, but not harsh in any way. Many different flavors including spice, coffee, and chocolate on the finish. Great burn from start to finish. Not for the faint-hearted!

Fantastic smoke.

I bought a couple singles of the Oliva Serie V Torpedo, smoked them, and then bought a whole box. This is a very flavorful, potent cigar. It is one of the best cigars I have ever smoked. It looks and burns like a champ. Smoke it slowly while seated. Its strength will sneak up on you.

Another winner from Oliva

Picked one up at at the local cigar shop. As a fan of Oliva cigars, I was expecting a nice smoke, and this delivered. Construction, pre-light aroma, appearance exquisite. Burned and drew near perfect. Very tasty, not overly complex; leather and cocoa. Not a trace of harshness til the last two inches. A little stronger than the G, not quite as powerful as the S. Very classy stick, definite box buy at FSS prices.

Overrated

Just finished smoking the torpedo and man was I dissaponted. Tried this stick since it was rated 94 by CE and was made of Nic tabbac. Had great construction and I wanted to like it, but the taste was terrible. Smoked harsh and had a staleness throughout. the 2nd third settled down, but reverted back in the end. Not sure why the good ratings, but I wont grab it again.

A Rich, Solid, Complex Smoke

I purchased a double robusto at an Olivia event hosted by a local cigar store because only the first 100 arrivals got a free sample. I came away thinking, "This is a pretty good smoke!" The next day I wished I had bought another, just to confirm the previous night's impression. By the time I finally did get my hands on another one, the 94 Aficionado rating had come out. This is a cigar with a solid construction and a firm feel in a pinch. The smoke is rich and complex with no flavor detractions. It is powerful but not excessively so. This is one of those cigars that you could smoke day-after-day, the kind you would want to have if you only had one choice and you were stuck on a desert island.

Disappointing Oliva Smoke

Bought some of these long awaited sticks the other day and smoked 5 over five days. These 5 were enough to let me know that I need not purchase anymore. The contruction and burn were above average, the appearance was excellent. The flavor on the other hand was sub-par, the other Oliva blends are far superior and much better smoking values than this blend. Without going into overwhelming detail, I will say that the flavor was at times floral and sweet, but not pleasantly so. The cigar goes for strength, but does not achieve and leaves a short and tinny aftertaste that was not pleasant. Stick to the other Oliva blends.
