Top of the Line Cigar

I bought a box of the 1926 #9 naturals. It is one powerful cigar. The draw maybe slightly too easy but every other aspect of this cigar makes up for that. Initally, I was expecting more complexity but they are getting better and better with each day they lie in my humidor.

Nothing Comes Close

I have tried a big variety of cigars. I have noticed that Padron 1926 Maduro is dominant in my 750 cigar Humidor. By Far, the #9 is the best of all. Padron 1926 is not for everybody. This full bodied jewel is pricy but worth every penny. Enjoy

What everybody else says

It's all been said. These are the best...along with the 1964's, the 26's are just over the top fantastic. Flip a coin, the 1964 or the 1926...they're bookends and the two best cigars I've ever had. I can't name a clear winner, head to head. You just need to smoke both, and then drive yourself crazy trying to decide which is best.

Bargaining chip to get into heaven

By far the best cigar I have ever had, when I was working in a cigar shop, it was like Christmas when a box of these would come in. Not an everyday smoke due to price but for those special occasions, demand nothing less then the Padron 1926 series maduros. When I die, I want one in my pocket to get past the gates.

Non Plus Ultra

I reviewed this cigar two years ago. As half of the box still sits in my humidor, I can tell you that they only get better with time (if that is possible). The reason why I still have half a box is because, I don't share them. You may say that I am selfish. Yes,I am. These are only to be experienced by the one who bought them. I tell my (mooch-prone)friends to bring their own.
I still contend that they are better than FFOX. And while I enjoy a great diversity of cigars, these are Non Plus Ultra.

Best cigar at ANY price!

Construction is a 10. Draw is a 10. Taste is a 10. Aroma is a 10. I have tried literally hundreds of different cigars (more than a few costing double or more than this Padron) and this is by far my favorite. The flavor of this cigar will have you dreaming of it for weeks. I am not "sophisticated" enough pick out "hints of nutmeg and a finish of cardamom", but this cigar satisfies in every way. The Padron 1926 will change the way you look at cigars...

Simply Outstanding

I have been smoking 1926 #1s for a few years now and I still find them to be nothing less than outstanding. I smoke #1s, #2s, 80th anniversary and the 40s as well yet I always fall back to the #1s as the best and most consistent.

Best Cigar Ever?

If someone ever tells you this is the best cigar ever, agree with them or keep your mouth shut because it just might be. If God smokes, this is his cigar.

"UTTER PERFECTION"

This is a connoisseur's delight! Not a stick for "newbies" for sure. It's complicated yet perfect in every conceivable way. For the money (and they're clearly not inexpensive) it's the best you can buy. If there's a box of sticks waiting for me in heaven then I so hope there are at least a couple of these beauties in there as well!

Wow, damn, and ahh. Incredible.

Maybe if you're in the market for these cigars, reviews don't matter -- they're a brand-name pinnacle and on that accolade alone could deliver a mediochre product and still command the mountain-like price. Not the case with Padron, and not the case with these cigars. Padron doesn't overdo the packaging but these sticks glow when you open up a box, their lethal-weapon torpedo points and glassy-oily sheen wrappers staring back at you. Construction feels ethereal, rock-solid and light. Lighting this perfecto took about 4 seconds and it was golden from then on. The taste: wow, damn, and ahh, all at once. This is not the same flavor profile as the other in the 1926 line, it's not as heavy/earthy. Like the difference between lush black tropical soil and sunshine through the leafs, this is a sweeter smoke (even compared to the 1926 40th Anniversary) and not so earthy. No cigar's aroma has been as epic as this smoke, not even close, and I enjoyed the smell as much as the taste throughout -- think about this, because usually (for me) the aroma is a pleasant secondary effect but not something you can really notice throughout. Pretty much perfect burn throughout, enough thick white smoke to make the local weather report and a smooth consistent draw. Rounding out the experience was a decently strong buzz that made itself known about 2/3 through the smoke. Who should smoke this cigar? Anyone who digs cigars. It's not for beginners and you may not like it at all, but it represents a hell of a lot of effort to make a distinctive and -very- well balanced cigar. Hats off to Padron.

Both bright and deep flavors, exceedingly good

I've enjoyed a bunch of the 1926 Padron line of cigars for their deep, rich flavor, construction that reminds you what the word 'craftsmanship' means, and overall smoking experience. What makes the 40th Anniversary a very special cigar is that it has all of these qualities but there's a "brightness" in the flavor. Smoking these makes me feel like the sun is shining (which it isn't, since it is winter here in Alaska!). Another winning characteristic is the evolving, multi-layered flavor -- no stranger to the 26 line, for sure, but even more pronounced here. Who should try this cigar? Someone who is looking for a medium-to-full bodied cigar, a contemplative smoking experience, and a cigar that has all the dark-earthy-deep credentials of its siblings but a bright counterpoint that is unusual and very, very desireable.

Exquisite Cigar

I cringed and closed my eyes when clicking on the buy button that sucked 25 bucks out of my Amex account for this stick, solely on the advice of other reviewers. While I'm not about to spend that kind of money every week, or even every month, the cigar was the best I've smoked and I have no regrets.
The flavor, as has been described here, is rich and, for the most part, chocolaty. Undertones of cedar and spice. Very full flavored, without in the least overpowering or harsh. Super construction: firm as a tree trunk but perfect draw. Perfectly even burn with an inch and a half of smooth, unflakey, ash. Very slow burning: got an hour and a half out of this beauty with plenty of cigar left at the end. But the best part: that flavor. Absolutely delicious. Just be sure you smoke it when you can fully concentrate on that taste and have the time to savor it.

As good as it gets!

I thought I settled on a favorite until I fired one of these up. Yes, full strength but not at all harsh. Perfect burn, nice easy draw with lot's of smoke, great taste all the way down. This is worth taking your time to enjoy every puff. Twice the price of my regular stick but four times the cigar.

Best cigar, bar none, Cuban or otherwise

Perfect cigar! Deep rich earthy chocolate/coffee flavors, perfect construction, perfect burn, long white ash, worth peeling the ring off to smoke it nearly to the nub. I've heard the hype on many cigars and been disappointed. I've smoked Cubans, AF Anejos, and many are good. This is the best deep flavored cigar I've ever smoked.

Better than FFOX

Carlos Fuente, Jr. has been an aquaintance of mine for over 10 yrs. I get the Opus X through an inner circle friend of his whenever I want. The Padron Aniv. 1926 beats it hands down. But we will never tell... just between you and I.

A Must Smoke

One of the few ultra premium cigars that is worth the money. The smoke is full of flavor yet cool, right up to the point where you burn your fingers. Don't pass up the opportunity if given one.

What a cigar!

I am stationed in Germany and have access to all the Cuban Romeo Y Julieta, Montecristo and Cohiba's I want. This Padron 40th Anniversary 1926 is the best cigar I have ever smoked! Because of the cost, I was expecting a great stick, but almost hoping it would not be good enough to make me want more. No such luck. If I had the money, my humidor would be full of them. Love the Cubans, but this Padron is number 1 in my book.

Best Cigar I Have Ever Had, Period!!!

The 1926 Padron was quite simply best cigar I have ever had. I have had plenty of access to Cuban cigars (I know a seamtress who has a visa and travels to Cuba regularly). The cigar is somewhat pricey (around $40.00) but it is worth it, trust me. I was fortunate enough to try one at a marketing event here in St. Petersburg, free of charge. I could not stop thinking about that cigar for days. Unfortunately they are a very limited edition and are not coming out again until sometime in May. Can't wait to buy a box.
