Partagas Cigars

One inch ash

There are not many cigars this size that can produce lots of smoke and go to the last inch without harshness. Long enough to be satisfying and short enough for walking the dog in winter. Just be careful with Cameroon wrappers as they can be brittle with sudden temperature changes.

This is why the name Partagas is legendary!

Simply put, a great cigar at any price. The burn is second to none with a nice sweet yet spicy finish. A very flavorful smoke that isn't over powering. It is my second favorite Partagas. If you enjoy these you MUST get a box(or two) of the Partagas Black Label series.

Awful, Don't waste your money.

This cigar was a huge disappointment. I bought a box of 25 and had to give them away.

Definitely a great bargain

I bought these in a buy 5 for the price of 3 sale. I also got two 5-packs of Graycliff's, some Perdomo Champanges, and Avo #2's. I have to say that for an every day smoke, this Partagas is a great deal. I am definitely going to reorder, you can't beat them as an every day smoke. I thought they were a medium smoke with a great draw and plenty of smoke. They reminded me of a cross between the Perdomo's and Rocky Patel's Edge.

Nice

Very nice cigarillos. They burned slower than I thought a cigarillo would burn, but then again I'm new to cigarillos. They usually last me about 20 minutes give or take. I'm not a big spice fan and there is a little at the end, but its more bearable then some other spiced tobaccos that I have tried. The burn is even and the draw is good.

A great morning smoke

I really like this smoke with my coffee in the AM. Its is also good when I do not have alot of time. Its a small but powerful smoke, lots of flavor and also good on those occasions when you want to smoke more than one in a night!

My Favorite Every-Day Smoke

The 8-9-8 has been one of my fav smokes for ever! Consistantly delicious and pleasurable, you will not be disappointed. Everyone I turn on to this one falls in love. I realize that a lot of actual Cuban smokes are over-rated, yet the only thing I have found that beats this beauty is the actual Cuban P 8-9-8. Either end, you'll be a happy camper.

A-1

A great cigar from the very first draw. Lots of sweetness, hints of cattle/leather, aged tobacco leave, velvety, slight chocolate, smooth and mild! Great aroma and white ash. This is a really dark cigar. It look powerful but it’s actual medium bodied. Took me about 80 minutes to finish this cigar. I give this cigar a 9 out of 10 overall rating!

Came back to Partagas and I'm very impressed

These used to be my absolute favorite ten or fifteen years ago. Then the cigars seemed to get very bland and the wrappers very papery. I thought the brand was done and went elsewhere looking for that Partagas aroma. I saw the new reviews at Famous and gave them another try and could not be happier. The wrappers are dark and smooth with an oily sheen, the tobaccos seem well aged, the cigars are solid and uniform and smoke with a medium bodied complexity that's tough to beat in this price range.

Great cigar!

A truly great tasting and well constructed cigar. I really looked forward to and enjoyed my Patagas #10s. They seem to smoke tigher than I remember from years ago, but not so tight as to require a poker or to make the smoke unpleasant, just tight enough to notice the harder requirement to draw. The burn, even with ardent "falsing", is not as good as it should be. Burn is uneven, but the ash is one of the finest gray-whites I have seen. The taste is excellent as is the construction and these attributes make the #10 close to being worth the price. For me, a retired Army type, justifying $5.00 for a cigar is too tough. I have smoked about everything except the really costly cigars and I think the #10 is a great cigar, worthy of the look/try. I thought the #10 was far superior to the box of CAO (M) Churchills I recently purchased but I will (as always) return to Punch as they continue to be the best cigar for the buck, in my humble opinion.

One of the best smokes at any price!

Picked up one of these splendid cigars by luck, on the way to a horseshow in Norco. This is one of the most enjoyable smokes that I have had, including Cuban cigars. Even draw and a fine finish. Next to try is the Sabroso Rosado. Kudos to Partagas!!

Real Men Smoke Partagas

This is a cigar for men to enjoy after dinner while the women are in the other rooms smoking their Kahluas and Javas. I smoked this robusto fresh from my newly acquired sampler pack and it reminded me of my previous experience: a bit rough, especially the first third, but loads of flavor behind the bite. Delivers pepper and an earthy/woody flavor. Should have good aging potential.

"The best"

I always compare fine cigars with the Partagas#10, and the Partagas always wins. I love smoking these while listening to a baseball game on the radio on my deck. Very relaxing!

by far the partagas is #1 in my book.

I've been smoking for about 19 years and partagas is the best cigar I have been smoking, and will be for many years to come. To the writer of bland and lacking definition, you must not know much about cigars.

Has never disappointed

I tried this stick a few years back and was pleased w/ taste, burn, etc. Drifted away to sample others but always returned to my tried and true friend. Think I'll ring in the New Year w/ this smoke and a few bourbons.

One of My Favorites.

Again, another gem from the Famous sampler pack. I found the Partagas Robustos so much to my liking that I ordered two five packs. The taste is woody with a little spice and a lingering finish. It's almost the perfect size for a short 45-minute commute to work. I'll never be without a few of these in the humidor.

This review was written about Partagas Robusto 5 Pack by Sean of Chattanooga, Tn on December 28, 2006

The Spice is nice.

Now I suppose spice maybe misleading but it is definitely not sweet, I would say it has earthly tones. Though near the end there is some spice. I normally am not one for spice in my smokes but some how Partagas makes the ones I like.A good quick smoke for a good quick break.

This review was written about Partagas Puritos (10) by P Bateman of Minnesota on December 25, 2006

first couple of boxes were pretty good-then I started getting some sticks with a very hard draw-my jaw started to ache!I'm going to try another box to see if they've improved-if not-no more!

My "go to" cigar.

I don't have much bad to say about the Partagas. There's nothing particularly 'fancy' about this smoke, but it's my tried and true, daily favorite. Good construction on average, with a few duds now and then. Nice, consistant flavor with good Mexican flavor. No real bells and whistles excitement, but an above average smoke for the price.

This review was written about Partagas Robusto by Jason of Youngstown on October 7, 2006

Great taste .... less filling

After experimenting with a number quick smokes, I discovered the Purito and It quickly became a favorite. Mostly I smoke my Puritos at work when I don't have time for anything bigger. It has a firm white ash, a consistent even burn, and of course tastes great. In fact if it has any fault at all I would say it is in its appearance, which can appear to be a bit rough at times. Now if I could only afford to buy any of its big brothers....

This review was written about Partagas Puritos (10) by Gene of Highhlands Ranch, CO on September 14, 2006

Bland and lacking definition

Everything about this cigar appeared to be top notch until i lit it up. The draw was sub-premium, and it lacked any flavor.

This review was written about Partagas #1 by Linas of Chicago on July 18, 2006

Good cigar with an even burn and mild taste

I purchased a box of these bad boys and went through the whole box in about 6 months. I loved the taste of this cigar. It was not bland at all, but had an almost spicy, yet earthy taste that was capped off with excellent burn and construction. Partagas makes a very nice cigar, not to mention ligth on the wallet as well.

This review was written about Partagas Sabroso by David of San Antonio, Texas on May 5, 2006

Adequate

I too got my robusto in a sampler pack and let it sit in a humidor for 2 months before smoking. Mine was rolled amazingly tight but the draw was not as bad as you might think. The burn was quite even, the smoke volume was fine. No poor scores to report, but nothing to rave about either, unfortunately. I had high expectations from all the brand-name hype, but honestly, Famous sells some bundles that are much more satisfying than this one.

Too Much Mexican Tobacco!

Experienced these in a 5 pack sampler. They are not the PARTAGAS enjoyed previously. I accused my wife of removing one of the TE-AMO's that were deposited in the trash container, cutting it down, and placing a PARTAGAS band on it.

great balanced cigar

This cigar is a well balanced cigar, a great draw and a even burn .Well worth the money this cigar is better than some cigars that I have paid 15.00 for.Highly recomended

Do you feel lucky?

Used to be my favorite quick smoke. The last 10/10 box was simply awful. 95% sucked air, wouldn't burn and terrible construction. Don't waste your money.

This review was written about Partagas Puritos (10) by CSA at VBG of CA on November 17, 2005

Packed too tight

Over half of these were packed too tightly to draw. I tried using a draw poker to open them up, but they soon closed up again. Don't waste your money.

This review was written about Partagas #10 by Ken S of Syracuse, NY on October 16, 2005

This cigar is as good as any higher priced brands

This is a great smoke. I really like the Humitube feature, as the cigar is always at optimum condition. I give it a 9.5, only because the draw gets a little choked up on occasion.

First Favorite/Always Return

This was one of the first cigars I ever tried years ago, and I loved it right away. Since then, I bet I have tried 50 different brands of cigars, and I would never be without one of these in my humidor. Well made, even burn, nice aroma, great smoke.

Hard-soft-Hard-soft...

I have smoked these for years. The first box I had, I put them in my humidor and let them age till they had the light gray powder on them...best cigars I ever had. Since then, things have slipped on their end and a box will be split between cigars packed so hard you can't draw through them and ones that are so loose that they almost droop in your fingers. Too bad. Get some consistency and they would be rated much higher!!

A bit of a bore.

Not a bad cigar, but not a great cigar either. Not complex enough for my taste, just a medium flavor from start to finish. Aroma, burn, construction and appearance deserve a nod. For the price, I would have expected more.

Partagas 4 Still No. 1

I started with Partagas 4 from a recommendation. These are still my favorites after trying many others.

This review was written about Partagas #4 by David Taylor of Petaluma CA on July 13, 2004

Nice, strong short smoke

Picked these up to fill in the voids when I don't have time to sit and enjoy a 45min. cigar. They don't dissappoint. Lots of taste and enjoyable aroma. Seem to be a bit stronger than the other sizes, due, I'm guessing to the much smaller ring size and length. Great way to spend a 20 minute chunk of time.

WOW What a Cigar, Partagas #4

I have been smoking Cigars now for about 5 years on and off. I really got tired of trying different brands based on the price and what someone had to say about it. I finally broke down and tried a Partagas #4, I like the panatela shapes the best. This Cigar has volume of smoke, the taste is flavorful with just a hint of spice to it. I swear I taste a little cholate and coffee as well. It burns great, the ash is solid and the draw is excellent. This cigar has become my morning, afternoon and evening cigar. If you are going to smoke cigars, you want to enjoy the smoke and that is what you will do everytime you fire up a Partagas.

This review was written about Partagas #4 by John Bohlig of Phoenix, AZ USA on December 17, 2003

Disapointing

I recieved this partagas robusto in sampler pack, and let it season in my humidor for a few months. I fired it up and was extremely disapointed in the taste. the burn was decent, the draw too loose. I would not recomend.

My first ever and became my most flavorite cigar

I can't get any in Hong Kong because people here are only for Cuban-made. The smoke not for the taste but the price. Same as wine trend in local. The judge them by the price only. Partagas Puritos, this is definately the best.

Smooth Smooth Smooth

This was the smoothest cigar I have tried yet… it was so smooth it made me want listen to soft jazz, drink highballs, and flirt with loose women in revealing clothing; well I’d like to do that anyway, but the truth is I am married and the wife makes me smoke in the garage, and frowns on the highballs. That’s ok because this cigar was so smooth it seemed to make it all ok. There was no hint of spice, only creamy goodness that slightly got heavier in the last 2 inches. It did not ash once… that is a first for me, I smoked the whole cigar without it once ashing. My only complaint is the length, it really needed to be longer so I could spend more time with it, putting it out was a real heartbreaker. I am definitely buying these again. What can I say? Partagas rocks!

Recently became cigar smoker. I've been given many different brands to try. I got hooked on Hoyo De Monterrey until I tried my first Partagas. I had to order a box and they are by far the best cigar I've had. I still like my Hoyos, but the Partagas has such an easy draw and they are so consistently well-constructed. I am pretty cheap so I just don't like paying for them, but if you're going to spend the money, Partagas is well worth it.

On Par with Cuban Partagas

I had the good fortune to have smoked many Cuban Cigars while I was working in the Middle East. Partagas was one of my favorites so I know it well. The Dominican Partagas #2 I just got from Famous is every bit as good as the Cuban version. Mild, aromatic, draws well, doesn't burn hot. A definite 9 on a scale of ten!

Wonderful Taste & Aroma

Talk about consistency! I have purchased three boxes already and have not found one clinker! This cigar has it all in favor, draw, appearance and especially taste. The aroma brings compliments from all my friends and co-workers. Great smoke with coffee, red wine or your favorite spirits. One of the finest cigars I ever experienced.

My favorite brand in any size!

I've tried nearly every premium brand and keep coming back to Partagas. My favorites are the 8-9-8 lonsdale for their great taste, consistent quality, great burn and ash and all at a great price when compared to other top-shelf brands. I have several boxes of 8-9-8s and Naturales aging in my humidor since I've found that these great smokes get better and better with age. I have a box of Serie S Perfectos that are OK now but am sure they will be even better after aging a couple of years.

FANTASTIC!

The Partagas #10 remains one of my favorite cigars of all time. Having been a cigar smoker long before the recent cigar boom (25 years), I am one who bases my favorites on first hand experience rather than wannabe HYPE. The Partagas #10 Maduro is far more satisfying than the majority of SUPER PREMIUM cigars you will pay two to three times as much for, yet this cigar provides everything one would expect from a cigar costing far more. Perfect white ash that can many times extend to half the length of the cigar before falling, a robust rich flavor that goes great with a cup of 5 star coffee or liquir, and a consistency that is hard to beat even with many other super premiums. I wish they offered these in boxes of 25, but that is my only criticism.

The last few boxes have not been consistent in color or taste. When the ash is white it tastes good, when dark it is rough tasting.

Price and Quality

This cigar is worthy of the Partagas name and a steal at the price advertised. Good size and price for beginners who want a "name" cigar.

Excellent choice

This is a very smooth cigar. The flavor is smooth, but not plain. The cigar burns very evenly, which suggests very good fermentation. The cigar has a very nice and shiny wrapper, and I'd recommend it to anyone who is looking for a very good smoke at a fair price.

A smooth, earthy smoke from end to end

One of the milder Partagas, this cigar has an earthy core and a nice woody character. Not as flavourful as I usually like, but a smooth smoke that's consistent from start to finish. The nice price makes these a great "every day" cigar value, too.

I have yet to meet a Partagas I didn't like.

The Partagas 898 is a personal favorite. Flavorful and consistent. I also enjoy the Number 10s when I have a bit more time and the number 4s when I have less time. All are consistent and I find that the No 4 has excellent flavor and is not harsh like many other smaller cigars.

I've recently purchased a box for by daughter's birth. I've given out more than I wanted but everyone was very happy with the flavor, draw, consistency of this cigar. I myself have always enjoyed the Partagas line of cigars with #1 being one of my favorite cigars. I highly recommend purchasing a box for your enjoyment.

Great taste, great aroma, a truly excellent cigar.

Though not a widely experienced cigar smoker, I have tried a good number of the bigger names in cigars and I have found the Partagas #10 to be, overall, the best cigar I have tried. It tastes and smells great, and it draws and burns as well as you could ask for in a cigar. It will always be in my humidor. If you want a truly great cigar without having to sample around, the #10 is a wise choice.
