I love these

Outstanding flavor! As newbie, this is the taste I've been searching for. Of the three Punch Gran Puros I've smoked, two burned perfectly and one needed some correction. One of the two or three best cigars I've tried so far. I plan to get a box soon. Grab a five pack of these; you'll see. Highly recommended.

Great cigar for the price

Smoked the Puros some years ago but started trying to find the perfect cigar, tried all brands then purchased the 5 pack Sierra Puros from Famous & realized i had the best smoke all along and didn't realize it. The draw, look & spicey notes that take over after about 1/3 through the smoke is what i enjoy the most.

Great after dinner cigar

This is a great smoke, its not upper echelon, but it is very good. I smoked this after dinner with a good quality bourbon (basil haydens) and this cigar pairs wonderfully. It is strong, smooth, robust, and flavourful. the draw was a little tight, and the burn was a little incosistant. But overall a very quality cigar.

The Perfect '10' Cigar

I have smoked quality cigars for over 30 years now and (as in my other reviews) continue to be a Punch devotee. I have not smoked a cigar as good as the Punch Gran Puro Sierra. This (for me) is quite simply the perfect cigar! From construction to appearance, taste, burn and aroma this cigar is simply the best full bodied cigar I have found. I apologize for my exuberance, but I received my Sierras today from Famous (who undoubtably has the best service of all cigar providers as well as the greatest selection and price) and rapidly opened the box. I subsequently lit my Punch, poured two fingers of Cazadores Anejo tequila, sat down with my wife and began enjoying my Sierra. I could not be more satisfied. Sadly this will be my last review as I will only smoke this Punch from now on. I hope you try this cigar. If you enjoy a rich, full bodied puro you will not be disappointed...

Designated hitter

The first time I tried the Sierra I felt like I had went back in time. It has the flavor I haven?t had and have missed since before the cigar boom in the early 90's. Punch maduro cigars used to have this same rich pungent tobacco flavor that developed into full, thick, creamy espresso, earthy pure Honduran signature flavor. Dam it's good to have it back. It would be nice if it came in a pyramid. This is an awesome cigar that ages very well if you can wait..

Good power, good smoothness, so-so flavor

What attracted me to this cigar was it's beautiful color, wide girth, and gorgeous sun grown wrapper. Upon ignition, I immediatly noticed a firm but comfortable draw and a very pleasing aroma; yet as I continued to smoke, I found myself wanting more intensity of flavor to compliment it's rather formidable strength. Eventually the smoke became somewhat one dimensional and without "soul", ultimately causing me to lose interest. I guess it just goes to show that beauty is indeed only skin deep.

My favorite...

for this 'everyday' price range. I really don't have any negative things to say about this great cigar.

Superb smoke!

I picked up a fiver of this on the whim, and after having three of them I will soon be placing an order for a box of 25. These are a great smoke and do not disappoint with a great draw, amazing look and a perfect burn complimented by the most important factor - a wonderfully smooth and delicious taste.

One of the best I've smoked in years

I just don't understand why i don't hear other folks raving about this cigar. Excellent flavor from start to finish. Unique, Classic Cuban like synergy.
This true Puro is the single best bang for the buck big name cigar on the planet (earth).

Not to bad!!

This "puro" has a rich flavor, but is not too full, the flavor is short on the palate and medium, is not very much diference with the original line for the presentation of the cigar!! they are cheapers cigars very more tasty than this one......

Flavourless stick

Bought one of these from famous smoke. Tried it yesterday with great anticipation, only to be severely disappointed. Burned well, but developed no flavour. Was hoping it would open up since this is a long cigar, but it didn't. Save your money

You can't miss with Punch

Although this is my least favorite of the Punch varieties (you can't compare the Honduran wrapper on these to the quality of the Connecticut wrappers), the flavor was magnificent and the burn was very characteristically even as I've come to expect from all Punch cigars.

Love the wrapper, love the taste, love the price!

one of the best cigars I've ever smoked. Nice dark wrapper, smooth silky taste. Great quality at an exceptionally low price.

Wonderful smoke...

I bought a few singles of these on a recommendation from a friend and WOW!
These dark beauties have that rare, sweet complexity found in much costlier full bodied cigars out there.
From a few singles I'm now buying a box to christen my new 2nd humidor!
Try them and enjoy!

Poor draw, flawed construction!!

What a dissapointment. The first 4 cigars out of the box were difficult to impossible to smoke. The draw was similar to a cigar with a hole or crack in the body. Each of the 4 had a "soft spot" in it's construction that appeared to be an empty spot. These brought back memories of the construction problems Punch had years ago during the cigar boom. I've learned my lesson - no more Punch.

Great Taste, Iffy Construction

A tobacconist friend of mine gave me the 54-ring size, and it was terrific in all respects. I was so intrigued that I bought a box, but this time went with the 50-ring Pico Bonito. It had the same great sun-grown flavor as the first one did, but after getting partway through the box I'm having some tight draw and inconsistent burn problems. Still, for the price it is hard to beat this full-flavored all Honduran smoke.

fuller bodied, great constrution

recieved a box this week and have had the opportunity to smoke a few...a real good cigar with lots of flavor and great constrution...it's hard to imagine what these babies would have sold for during the boom...this cigar really has me appreciating where we are right now...a real value.

You hope this cigar smoke will never end....

This is such a great cigar! It is sweet and still gives you that flavor you want to come back to over and over. The burn is excellent, the taste is superb, the cost is so reasonable and the consistancy is always there. I can't get enough of these cigars! I also want to try some of the other sizes to see what they are like.
Enjoy!

Fantastic Stick

These beauties are incredible right out of the box. The construction and appearance are near flawless. The smooth flavors are matched only by it's near perfect draw and even burn. I would have expected to pay in the AVO price range for a box of these. I still can't believe they are less than $80.00.

What a smoke

very very spicy outta the box and very enjoyable if you like a full smoke...than I let them sit for two months. my my my awesome smoke!! now I got to appreciate more flavors, mild cedar with a nice cocoa overlay with a more consistant spicy flavor and roasted nut. As far as bang for the buck this is clearly the tops so far... I will see how the Partagas Spanish Rosado matches up next!!

Great short robusto

What this little guy lacks in looks, it more than makes up for in taste. The Gran Puro line has been a great addition to the Punch line - I prefer it's taste to the more expensive Gran Cru. This short robusto is a thirty to forty minute smoke that provides rich, cedery taste with an underpinning of fruit. A gem of a small smoke that taste better than much more expensive blends.

The Best Punch ever

The Gran Puro to me, is the tastiest and most unique cigar ever made by Villazon. This Honduran Puro reaches levels of taste satisfaction I have never experienced in any other Punch in a whole lot of years. Construction is top shelf, the wrappers are dark and oily, and the flavors in this cigar are nothing short of spectacular. These are and will remain a "go-to" for me for a long time.
Bravo

Packing a Punch

It's amazing a cigar this silky smooth can deliver this much intense flavor. A near perfect draw and burn make this a must buy. This is a powerful smoke with peppery notes and maybe a touch of hot cinnamon.

Cool star filled night Havana circa 1960

By far one of the best products put out by the Punch/Hoyo/El Rey factory. Far better than even their Rare Corojo line. Not for the faint at heart. My grandfather had one and started telling me stories of when he would visit Havana as a young man. This cigar burns longer than Grandpa's stories.

Very nice flavor and draw.

This stick had a very nice draw with a full head of smoke coming through. The flavor was very full and complex with notes of leather and cedar. I smoked it to the nub and it was smooth and cool all the way.

No down side

The Punch Gran Puro Sierra is a very good smoke and when you factor in the price, its goes off the scale. The draw is easy, the construction is on the money and the taste is great. What else can you ask for in a cigar?

Came to me quite dry,

One of my few disappointments from Famous. These came to me very dry, but after storing in a humidor, they are fine now. They are stronger that my usual Punch, but are very pleasant to smoke.

Punch does it again!

A very tasty cigar that is similar to the Rare Corojo. There is plenty of flavor & smoke with an easy draw. I had to doctor the uneven burn (nothing serious) but the ash stayed on the cigar and didn't end up in my lap. If you like a full, rich flavor cigar, give this one a try. The price is right too!
