Perdomo Habano Cigars

Excellent smoke, smooth with good taste

Excellent cigar! The draw is smooth and easy with thick white smoke. It has a smooth and even taste down to 1". I have thoroughly enjoyed this cigar and will buy more.

What a jolt!

This is certainly a full-bodied cigar. Would not recommend it on an empty stomach unless you are used to the real jolt from a such full strength cigars. I usually smoke maduros, but will want to try a non-maduro Habano next to see how it compliments the fillers. What a well-made cigar! The reviewer who said "put on your big guy pants" was right on. Great smoke.

ohhhhh lalalalaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

This is a great all around smoke Great draw, fantastic burn, bascially flawless. As I sat pollside in my resort I recieved nothing but compliments from people passing by on the aroma. I burned my finger tips on this one, I have four more left.Thank heavens I traveled with my laptop, because I'm ordering a whole box as we speak from my resort.Trust me you can not go wrong with this Gem. Thanks alot Perdomo!

Put your BIG boy pants on

Put your big boy pants on and hold on this cigar is ment to cap off a nice size meal, not an everyday smoke. Keep a couple to age in your humidor as they just keep getting better.

great smoke

wonderfully constructed cigar. Burn is great with big puffs of smoke. The flavor is creamy and smooth and builds to a wonderfull spicy finish. I like the corojo the most, One of my top 10 and always in my humi.

very, impressed. You want leather? you got it!

This was a wonderful smoke. Cool looking band, great constuction, good burn, good draw. Starts out mellow and creamy with nice thick smoke, then when it gets running it starts hitting you with loads of leather and earth. I smoked this baby to the nub... and for the price, you cant beat it

Great finish; perfect for the golf game or drive home. Enjoy to the fullest.

Great gar for a great price!!!

I too have a hard time seeing ratings from one end of the scale to the other but then I remember gars are line wine...it's a matter of personal taste. The PH Toro is one of my favorite smokes; great to look at, great corojo taste, a little spicier than I like but the taste is worth it. I only had a few not burn perfect but I put it down to my laziness because I do not rotate gars in the humi. Gobs of smoke, great draw and beautiful banding. I love this cigar and was disappointed when I took the last one out of the humidor. I gave several away and everyone like them. Great value!!!

Surprise!

By the gorgeous look of this cigar, I expected a very full, if not harsh smoke. I was pleasantly surprised at how smooth it was. Not my everyday cigar nor one I would recommend to everyone, but for maduro smokers, I think you'd like it.

Great smoke!

Great smoke, hefty ring size and moderate price makes the Habano Gordo a Perdomo winner!

Less than satisfied

This is a beautiful cigar to look at. Mine had some serious burn issues; to the point of frustrating. No doubt the burn issues had a less than desirable effect on the taste. I am a fan of Perdomo cigars, but this one was less than impressive. I will get another five pack, but a box is out of the question for the time being.

8 out of 10

I had one of these tonight after dinner. First and foremost, this cigar is absolutely beautiful to look at. The cigar and the bands are works of art. The burn on mine was a bit off throughout the smoke and required frequent touch ups. The taste was very pleasant but not something that makes me say, "Wow" As for strength, I would say medium for the first half and then full the second half. I felt pretty darned satisfied after smoking it. I have a few more in my humidor and will allow them to age for a few more months. I can see buying a box of them and storing them for a year or so.

comparable with habanas

Truly an amazing cigar, i never spect the flavors i found in this masterpiece, in flavor is very similar to a cuban montecristo #2, very nuty, creamy, and spicy with a very caracteristic corojo flavors like the goods habanas have the vanilla creme soda hints since the first puff to the midle of the cigar, then the streng intensify and get herbal flavors, some problems on the burn but not much, very recomendable and cuban-esque cigar!! this is gone a be superior with some aging....

Great

Let me state up front that I am normally not a big fan of Nick Perdomo's products mainly because they seem far overpriced for what you get. Having said that this line is just a magnificent smoke. Not quite as full bodied as Famous makes them out to be, they are still very flavorful and well worth the asking price. Very nutty with woody notes, the cigar burns and draws perfectly. Nick is on to something here. If he can continue making cigars that are like this where taste and quality at a reasonable price are the hallmarks rather than trying to imply a "high quality premium" cigar via high prices he will do much better in the long run.

Great Taste

The great taste you would expect from a Perdomo, but the draw was a little off. I couldn't seem to get it to burn evenly. I'll leave them in the humidor for a month or three and see if that will improve.

Very Nice - a MUST try - Med Body

This is a well constructed smoke, draws great and burns fine. All the Perdoma's I've tried are all quality smokes. This is med bodied and not harsh. May be too much for a new smoker but is only a med smoke for those of us who like full flavor. If you like this, try a Gran Habano Corojo (slightly more flavor) or a Rocky Patel "The Edge" for even more flavor. Also, if you like this flavor - try the Famous Smoke 3000.

As usual, I'm astounded by the reviews

I continue to be amazed by the reviews on cigars. What one person thinks is outstanding, the next thinks is garbage. So here is my 2 cents. This is a great cigar. There is a good balance of spice and smoothness with rich creamy smoke. This is a full bodied cigar with earthy spice. Take your pick. One of us is bound to be right.

Novice but active smoker.

This is my favorite cigar at the moment. I became enamored with the Perdomo line after tasting the Lot 23 during my early sampling faze. This cigar is bold but not overpowering and is a great relaxer. I would recommend the Maduro to anyone looking for a bold option that will give you a nice buzz but won't make you naucious or over power your drink.

In with the top three......

This cigar is unbelievable! One of the best cigars Nick put together.

TERRIFIC!

BOUGHT 2 BOXES OF PRESIDENT MADURO. IF THE OTHER 39 ARE AS GOOD AS THE FIRST, I'M HOOKED. GREAT TASTE,DRAW AND FINISH.

Disappointed

I love Perdomo cigars. This is a first time when I was disappointed. The cigar looks very appealing but the draw was unacepted, the taste is an average. Maybe I have to smoke another one butI'll think if I should spend another 6 bucks to prove my point.

Better with age

Lit up a robusto natural after about a month in the humi and the flavor is definitely improving. Lots of rich dark tobacco flavor. The smoke was pleasingly earthy with a slight peppery taste.

decievingly good looks horrible after taste

First off everyones taste is diffrent, i love maduro cigars, and i fell in love when i first saw and smelled the sweet maduro wrapper of this cigar. however when lit it was a totaly diffrent story, it was very bitter to me and left a bad aftertaste on my pallet. i only smoked about 2 and a half inches hoping for a change but had to throw it away after that. if you like perdomo and you like maduro cigars, go with the perdomo lot 23 not these IMHO. BIG-A

This One Will Age Nicely

The Perdomo Habano Toro (corojo version)is one fine smoke. A firm draw, very good burn and this 5.5 inch puro lasted me a good 90 minutes, and stayed lit the entire time. The flavor is delicious, full body without being over powering. I think I finally have found a cigar that I can insert into my rotation of Pepin and Litto Gomez products that costs far less. With a few months in the humidor these will get even better.

My Go To Stogie

These are fantastic. Medium/Full bodied, great draw, great flavor, excelletnt burn. The first couple I cut too much and it affected the burn, but now I have it down to a science. I have been spoiled smoking mostly primo smokes, but these are fantastic.

This review was written about Perdomo Habano Torpedo by John of Florida on January 15, 2008

How can this be a full bodied cigar?

Read the reviews and just had to have a box. what a disappointment-very well made cigar, nice to look at but where is the taste. Rate this as a extremely mild smoke - no taste afte the 1/4 inch. Very disappointed.

Great cigar but needs a few days in the humidor

Great flavor, easy draw and good to the last smoke. The cigar needs to be in the humidor for about a week before enjoying. If not in the humidor, the cigar will burn uneven and will die repeatedly. The problem goes away - mostly, after about a week in the humidor.

The Ultimate in Stress Relief!

The perfect stogie at the end of a long hard day here in Iraq. A tad peppery at the start which is nice and smooths out it burns down. Definately a stogie to burn down to the stub!

Very Good to Excellent

This is a good example of Perdomo's Nicaraguan cigars and well worth trying. I enjoy his "Tradicion" series, especially the Sungrown version, and if you like them this is a nice variation. Construction, appearance and aroma are excellent. The taste was slightly sweet, with some hints of leather or cedar. The burn isn't perfect, but usually corrects itself easily. This huge Churchill lasts me almost two hours and leaves a very pleasant sense of satisfaction. This is what a cigar should be. Nothing fancy, no odd flavors or exotic claims, just a big, relaxing, good-tasting cigar. I can't rate these as "best ever" but they are very good. Worth a try.

A luxurious smoke.

This is one great cigar. It's luxuriously rich in flavor without being overpowering, and is satisfying on all levels. Even before it's lit, the rich aroma and silky wrapper begs you to lit it up. It seems almost edible. The Presidente vitola took me all afternoon to smoke, and at each re-light, the flavor was never bitter or harsh. This is a cigar that grabs your attention with its rich, voluminous smoke, and has now, for me, set the bar very high for other cigars to reach.

will buy another

I liked it. Bought one looking for something different. The draw was smooth and consistent. Good ash (11/2) before I knocked it off. Burned slightly crooked, but evened back up after fixing it. No heavy aftertaste. I will give them another try.

not very good
