Dogrocket

From the first draw it started to sting my mouth and left a terrible tast in my mouth, only could smoke half an inch.

Disappointing

Mostly flavorless except for taste of mildew.Won't buy these again

Great relaxing cigar

Bought this in a Famous sampler and let it sit for a couple of months. Really impressed. Too bad these reviews just drive the prices up haha.

Taste In Cigars Is Very Subjective!!

I have now smoked two of these and all I can say is, "What a waste of time!" Hard draw, won't stay lit (and yes my other cigars from the same humidor have no problem staying lit) bitter taste on the tongue that only gets worse the farther down you get. Overall not worth the time. Now, will someone explain to me the way cigars are priced. There are truly excellent cigars out there that sell for a fraction of the price of this one. I don't get it.

Wayy too mild for me

Beautiful looking cigar, well constucted, not bad in the burn department. Has a wonderful aroma burning, however, flavor as mentioned before is pretty one dimensional. A bit mild for my taste buds (Joya de Nic, La Flor Dominicana, and RP The Edge are more my speed) Came as part of sampler freebie. It won't become a mainstay in my humi anytime soon. Just not enough flavor to warrant the expense.

Liked it alot!

I got one of these in a sampler and thought it was great! Not too mild or too strong, just about right. Had a nice flavor and was in my opinion a truly enjoyable smoke. I would like to get a box of these to have on hand.

Yawn

Plasencia has spread himself so thin I'm not sure he even tastes his own product anymore. Organica is a nice gimmick but it can't make a run of the mill Cigar any better. Wonderful construction, ample smoke but boring flavor. If cigars were cars this would be a Saturn.

Little firecracker

Normally I don't bother with cigars this small, but these little doggies are tasty. Deep flavor, cinnamon and spice. They should keep the same ring gauge and double the length. That would be an amazing cigar!

Jumbo Marlboro

This cigar is about as close to a cigarette as you can get. If you like one-dimensional and absolutely no flavor, then you've found your smoke. My advice is to save your money and don't trip on the "organic" gimmick like I did.

A wonderful smoke!

The first one started off with overtones of chocolate and coffee. It has an unusually complex flavor with some hints of citrus. The middle had a taste that I can only compare to one I have found in some fine late harvest desert wines. The last quarter had continuing fruity overtones and I smoked it until it burnt my fingers. The burn was uneven for the first half but it corrected itself after that. All in all, a very lovely, flavorful smoke. I will buy more!

Construction is an 11!

The PRO corona is an impeccably constructed cigar with the same signature flavor of the rest of the Plasencia R.O. line, with a nice cool razor sharp burn, perfect draw and creamy smoke. Of the four that I have had the pleasure to smoke thus far, not one required a touch-up after the initial light.

Either they've changed the blend recently, or I have a weird palate, cuz there ain't nothin' mild about these. I've gone through 2 boxes of robustos, this is my first toro. Alot of flavor, amazing aroma. The PRO would be one of my favorites even if they weren't "organic".

Above average Quality

This is a above average permium smoke. Its very light in flavor but complex. A real wood chip type smoke with lots of earthy flavors. I think this is a very well made cigar. I would give the construction a 9 out of 10. Plasencia is a very very good cigar maker but the cigar does lack strength. This is a really good cigar for the smoker that smokes once a month. This cigar is way overpriced and I think its not worth more than $4 a stick.

Cigar Smokers are not all created equal!!

This review is as much about the Cuban Cohiba Robusto, as it is about the Plasencia Organica Robusto. Fact is the Cuban Cohiba Robusto use to be in the number one position of my personal top ten cigars in the world today. The problem is the Cubans have changed something in the original make up of the cigar. The Cubans have successfully taken one of the world's best cigars and reduced it to less than many budget cigars available today. My impressions of the new Cuban Cohiba, "total disappointment". The best piece of advice I could give any premium cigar smoker is this. The next time you?re at a "Pacific Cigar Shop", or at many of the duty free outlets in the international airports today, and are seriously considering laying down the 750 bucks for a box of these cigars, you should consider saving your money, and buying a box of the Plasencia Organica Robustos. The Placensia's are the closest thing; I have smoked to date that actually compare to the former "Cuban Cohiba Robustos". Personally I think virtually every cigar in the world is a little hit and miss. The Plasencia's are no exception. But when you hit on a good box of these cigars, you really hit, and when you miss, there still pretty good cigars

Nope not gonna work...

Sorry, this one is not gonna work for me. The wrapper was too thick. The cigar had a bitter taste all the way through. I won't be buying this one. It also had the amazing tunnel effect! I was truly disappointed. I expected better. Time in Humidor might have changed this one but I doubt it.

very impressed

I purchased two 5 packs about a year ago. I smoked the first 5 after a few weeks and loved them,(although a little expensive), I got side-tracked on other cigars, and let the second five sit in my humidor for the last yr. Im finishing up the ninth now after one year aging, and all I can say is WOW!! If you really want to be impressed let these age before smoking. These are the best cigars I have ever had, and I have had them all. I'm buying two boxes, and can't wait till next year! Plan ahead with these, and its like having a $300.00 box of cigars for half the price!

Eh...

For $9.50 a stick, it's simply not worth it. Even though it burned really even and had a great draw, the taste is quite bland, woody at first, and by half, began to sting my mouth. Nothing too special, try it, but beware the price tag.

I picked these up as a freebie with a purchase of the limitada. Perfect short smoke for winter or otherwise when time is short. Plenty of taste - hints of honey and leather and good tabacco. Look forward to having a few aged ones in the future.

A Beautify Presented Cigar!

Snagged a box of the piramides on Monster Deal last week. The care in packaging of these cigars is remarkable! Although I hate to do it, had to try one out of the box the day I received them. The construction, draw and appearance of these cigars is superb. They smoked even, had an easy draw but maintained a firmness to the finish. The ash was solid and white. The taste was somewhat one-dimensional but I'm hoping that will improve with age. For me, these started out very mild and moved to a medium finish - very smooth on the palate. Overall, a very nice cigar.

What an outstanding smoke!

It's not often I encounter a "knuckle-burner" - but this is one of them. Everything about this cigar is excellent: burn, consistency, appearance, draw, taste. Simply outstanding. It's a medium-full bodied cigar that smoke sweet from beginning to end. Can't say enough about this one. You MUST try one of these!

I was Wrong

I am a big fan of full-bodied Dominican cigars (Avo, Fuente, Davidoff, etc.), and I have spent a good deal of time badmouthing Nigaraguan tocacco in my review of cigars on the Famous website.
I was Wrong.
I recieved a free 5-pack of these with my last $200 order, and my conclusion is that this cigar is absolutely outstanding. I rate it close to the communist-made Cohiba Robusto, which is in my opinion the best cigar avaialable anywhere (notwithstanding the country of origin). It is rated as a mild to meduium bodied cigar, but I think it is closer to full bodied. The flavor is slightly sweet but not overpoweringly so, and it has a great complex spicy aftertaste. I can't believe this is a non-cuban product, and at less than $5 when you buy from Famous in the five pack it is an absolute steal. Highly recommended!

Excellent Cigar!

This cigar was a delight to smoke! Great flavor (a 10!) with not a hint of bitterness or harshness! Looks great, is well constructed and has a nice burn!

Must have gotten a bad batch

I picked up a couple of boxes of these in an auction, and was really looking forward to them. I tried the first one after it had been in the humidor a few days, admittedly premature. A couple of friends standing nearby - also cigar smokers- thanked me when I threw it away. Just awful; as bad as anything I've ever bought.
I tried a few more. Each one was equally terrible. But, there are so many good reviews of these cigars, I am going to let the remainder age a while in the humidor; then try them again.

A great mild premium cigar. Now 1 of my favorites!

I completely disagree with Tennessee Tommy's review of this cigar. The only way his experience could have occurred, is if the cigars were allowed to dry out and/or were not properly humidified. I have been through over 4 boxes of these fine cigars and keep on ordering them, never to have one dissapoint me yet. It comes very close to my favorite cigar - the 1993 Vintage Macanudo, which my humidor is full of, but which I ration due to their difficulty to find. Having a China cabinet size humidor with active humidification controlled by a humidistat is critical to properly keeping my fine cigars, and I count the Plasencia Reserva Organica's among them and often chose one of them first when going for a smoke. That says a great deal, as my humidor typically has over 1200 cigars to choose from. The even burn, strong ash, wonderful aroma and creamy taste of this cigar is unparalleled. It is a fabulous smoke and a great value for cigar smokers with a mild cigar preference. I have several cigar smoking buddies who whole heartedly agree after I introduced them to this fine cigar, and they continue to order them today! We don't care what the cigar magazine ratings are, since they almost never give a mild cigar high marks. This is an excellent cigar and the Plasencia family should be proud!

Dayum!

I was curious when I saw that these were certified organic, so set my sights on the 12 pack with travel humidor at the auction. Well I won! They came in today and I put away 11 and smoked the 12th one. Man, was I glad I won that auction! It is so smooth and nice with a mild bready flavor. It is definately a real treat. I reccomend it to any new smoker who wants a mild cigar with "taste". While it won't replace my Quintero maduro or Don Tomas maduro as a "go to" cigar, It is certainly my new "Special Ocassion" cigar. The only negative is that they are pricey, but even so they are worth it, although for my budget I'm better off trying to win them at auction.

A Good Cigar...A Mediocre Draw...A Little Pricey

This is not a bad cigar. It has a clean tobbaco taste with a great aroma. It has the tendency to draw a little tight with many of the cigars in the box and this takes away some from the enjoyment. When it does draw well, you get a good volume of smoke. It is a mild cigar with not a lot of subtleties, but if you like a clean tobacco taste in a mild cigar then this is the one, once you get around the draw problem. It improves with a couple of months in the humidor. A good first cigar to start the day on with a cup of coffee. I would strongly recommend this one if the price was for $80 a box or less, but for what they are going for, there are better ones out there. A good cigart to win on an auction.

This little powerhouse has pushed the envelope

There is something terribly wrong with these Nesticos. With their 36 ring gauge, they should not be giving me a fuller bodied, more complex and satisfying smoke than my 52 gauge organica robustos, but they are. These little powerhouses have definitely pushed the envelope on mini cigar satisfaction.

A real disappointment.......

I bought a lot of 3 boxes. When they arrived, it was wonderful. The packaging and construction was excellent. Then the disappointment.....a little harsh for the first inch then it mellowed out. They have a nice even burn. But for some reason they don't maintain a very good coal on the end. The coal is even with the burn, and the ash gets very loose. Halfway through the stick, it became harder to draw. The taste became bitter, and gave me a nicotine burn on my tongue. This wasn't with just one box but all 3. I'll stick with my A Fuentes, and Romeo & Juliettes from now on (they are smoother and milder). Before I bid on anything else, I'll make sure I go to the tobacco shop and try them out first. This was worse cigar I have smoked to date.

Relationship Went Sour

I met this career girl at a literary discussion group. She wore an attractive outfit consisting of a silk blouse with various shades of blue and yellow flowers. Her tight, tan skirt clung tightly to her well-formed legs and tightly sculpted posterior. She was very attractive with her enchanting spectacles and catalogue clothing.
Our relationship was good at first, so much so that she asked me to move in with her. Then she started talking about getting serious, and wanting children. The intellectual conversations became a faded memory. Our interactions devolved into an unending series of hot, tunnel vision debates. All she could talk about is what she wants from her life, and how I wasn't giving it to her.
Finally she asked me to get a job and start paying rent. For someone like me who just smokes cigars all day while contemplating the nature of things, this was a real threat. Our relationship ended, but she does come over to my hovvel of a trailer once in a while for straight up, foul mouthed sex. Why do relationships so often change and go sour? If we could just have the wonderful chemistry of our initial days, I would be gladly give up the sex for that initial friendship. Nothing ever lasts.

The Best

I've tried just about every brand of cigar. After experiencing the Plasencias: From now on I'm strictly smoking the organics.

Dont wast your money

I bought a five pack of churchills on the auction site. Good construction and burn but very dissatisfied with taste.

Nice cigar, fine construction, too tight

This cigar has a warm brown knobby wrapper, packed en cedro, which gives it a rich aroma before lighting. The presentation is unusually nice, the cedar is tight, the yellow of the band sets off the color of the cigar. The packing is tight and consistent, easy to clip or notch, but the draw is a bit hard. This makes the smoke wetter than it needs to be, and quite strong, as well, as the warmed filler delivers a lot of nicotine from the beginning. The complex flavor changes throughout, rather rich and heavy for a supposedly mild cigar. The ash is very white and smooth, smoother than the wrapper and forms 1 ½ inch without trouble, because of the dense packing. A flavorful cigar, but just a bit grassy, probably from the tight packing.

Bought them on a whim, now I keep them stocked!

I bought a box of these on a whim, I never heard of them but something told me to give them a try, not something I normally do, I tend to "dance with girl who brought me there"! What a pleasant surprise, 2 boxes already came and went in and out of my humidor and I havent had a bad stick in either lot. Consistency is key here, burn is great and they remind me allot of the CAO Gold line. Not a gimmicky cigar, it delivers a very satisfying smoke, this one will be around for a long time..I hope!

Nice and Clean

I went for the Piramide. Something about the torpedoes I like better than the others. This cigar intrigued me. An organic cigar? No additives? You mean the other cigars add nasty stuff? Well, I was quite impressed with the box and the cigars. Nice and clean with no bitter after taste. Does this mean I won't get lung or mouth cancer? A little on the pricey side but you can't find this cigar anywhere else but here. Smoke a few and decide for yourself. Maybe you will like it, maybe you won't. Cheers!

Taste like rotten fish

These cigars are terrible , a huge waste of money

I guess size matters

I'm the guy above who raved about the robusto, but have just had the disappointing experience of smoking a couple of churchills. Apparently the flavor comes from the binder and filler, 'cause this narrower and longer smoke just doesn't get it. A hint of the flavor is there, but that's it. I'd trade you eight of these churchills for one robusto. Choose wisely, herfmates.

Phenomenal

Just smoked two of the robustos and they knocked my socks off. I'm in a land where I can get (and occasionally afford) Communist-made cigars, and with the exception of one of them (Hoyo Coronation Tubo) these cigars were the best I've had. Lately, I've had some (Dom.) Trinidads and Montecristos, as well as the old standard Fuente 858s. Good cigars all, but these Plasencias just blew them, and me, away. Needless to say, there will be some in my next shipment from Famous.

Very flavorful, clean taste, highly recommended.

I was drawn to this cigar because it is organic. I purchased the 4.75x52 and rate it 9.80. It is very well constructed and has a very flavorful clean taste. The draw is good and the packaging is first class. It would make a great gift. Highly recommended.

Righteous smoke from start to finish!!!

The Plasencia Reserva Organica is the real deal. Well constructed, with a smooth and juicy draw. A natural cocoa/nutty flavor builds and blossoms. You can't go wrong with this one, and it's cheap enough to be a daily smoker.

excellant cigar especially after aging in humidor

salt and pepper

This cigar has one of the best constructions I've ever come across. It's absolutely beautiful. Nice, dark ash. I smoked the first two out of a 5 pack within a week of purchasing them, and wasn't impressed with the flavor. The cigar begins salty and funny tasting, but mellows out after about 2 inches into a spicy, robust smoke that's much better. I humidor conditioned the rest and had another last night. None of the funny taste. My recommendation is to let these rest a bit in the humidor before you smoke em. They're certainly well worth the money if you let them mellow for a while before you light up.

Try these if you like a mild cigar!

I had to see what all the hubbub was about on the smokes. They are everything the critics said, completely enjoyable right to the end.

My new go-to mild cigar

Comparable to Creme De Jamaica aroma. Pricey, but nicely constructed. A little tight on the draw, even burn right down to the nub. Not hot. Will buy again.

Good, sustainable, but expensive

I agree with many of the other reviewers here... I work for a company that deals almost entirely in the Organic market. While I understand the sustainable agriculture concept, I can't quite bring myself to pay for these smokes. These are GOOD cigars, no doubt. And I understand the price if they are truly grown organically. However, they are simply too highly priced for me to purchase. I highly recommend this smoke for those interested in a nice cigar with a social consciousness.

A decent Smoke

I had to try this smoke and see what it was like. This was a mild cigar. The burn, construction and tase was very good. The only problem I have with this cigar is the price. I think the process of making these sticks is why you pay so much. If it were cheaper I would buy many more. I buy other cigars that are cheaper and get just as good of a smoke (you all know the list). I was surprised how mild this cigar was and how at times I almost inhaled by accident due to it's mild taste. Also, something strange was that it kept it's mild nature even towards the end of the smoke.
