Partagas Spanish Rosado Cigars

The Partagas Rosado is what every cigar should be.

When reading the reviews of good cigars, we often see the reviewer refer to the smoke as being "creamy". This Partagas is the first one I've come across to truly deliver on that promise. It's a wonderful smoke; but only if you enjoy a cigar with a georgeous, oily, leathery, toothy, tasty wrapper encasing a concoction that produces an almost perfect bright grey ash with a cool even burn. It really IS a medium bodied cigar with a full-tilt complex flavor; never bitter, and produces lots and lots and lots of creamy, smooth smoke. I smoked this thing until I literally couldn't hold it any more. Compare to the Oliva Series V, or to the Carlos Torano Virtuoso, only better.

One of my Favorites

This has become one of my favorite smokes. The taste gets better and better as you go along. A very nice spicy taste that I really enjoyed. Even after the cigar was finished, I could still taste it - thinking, I have to get more of these. A nice long smoke you should take time with. Not to strong but it is complex.

1959 Havana in 2007

This cigar was blended by one of the finest cigar makers living today. This is as close as you can get to what a 1959 Havana cigar use to taste like - it is robust and full flavored in a smooth way that is not overbearing. This is to be enjoyed with friends. Incredible.

SMOOTH AS BUTTER!

WHAT A FANTASTIC SMOKE! This is Med bodied as the strongest, but AMAZINGLY SMOOTH! Hints of cinnamon and butter. I was nubbing it down to the last inch and could not get enough!

Not a big fan

I'm a big fan of smaller cigars so I was really eager to try the Santiago. It was Partagas and it wasn't that expensive. I thought that maybe, just maybe I had found something that was going to be one of those deals that you can't believe. Well, I didn't. I just didn't like the flavor. I've seen other people talk about the different tastes they've experienced with this brand but in other sizes (fruitiness, cedar, etc). To me it just tasted like dirt. I smoked the whole thing hoping that the flavor would change but it didn't. I might try this one again just in case I got a dud the first time but I'm very hesitant to buy it again.

A wonderful smoke

Consistent, medium to full with lots of smoke and a flavor that must be experienced. I have purchased several boxes over the past few years and I have only grown to love them more. The entire Spanish Rosada line is proof that you don't have to spend $8-10 to get a great smoke! Peace

Outstanding!

This is an outstanding cigar. Very flavorful without being too strong. Excellent smoke, regardless of the price (which is very reasonable). I now rank this cigar with my other two favorites: the Punch Rare Corojo and the Cuesta Rey CentroFino Sun Grown.

Very impressed.....nice smoke

Very nice cigar. Smoked well...burned white and even and had a wonderful aroma and taste. I will always have some of these in my humidor from now on.

One of my favorites

After getting one of these from my local smoke shop, I immediatly came online and ordered a box from Famous. Full flavored and full strength, this is a cigar for the slightly more experianced smokers. I've smoked about 15 so far, and each one has been near flawless. Excellent construction, burn, draw... the works. About the only thing that might turn some smokers off with this cigar is the heavy "mexican" flavor. But Partagas is known for that anyway.

A Regal Cigar

This cigar is absolutely gorgeous. The draw, burn, and ash were first rate. I found it was a little more on the medium side but was still very flavorful. The cigar showed wonderful hints of spice, cocao, and coffee while the finish was long and pleasant. I did not notice any biterness. It could have been a little more complex for me, but that is just a matter of personal taste. Highly recommended with a medium bodied bourbon such as Knob Creek or a nice Remy Martin VSOP Bourbon. The XO might be a little powerful.

Not What I Am Used to from Partagas

I have been a Partagas smoker for 10 years or so, and have loved all of their releases until the Spanish Rosado. I just finished a box and while the smoke itself is above average in terms of flavor, it is sub standard on other levels. The flavor is fruity with hints of cocoa and chocolate and is very smooth, the finish however can be harsh. The construction and appearance are wonderful but they are misleading. The draw is very disappointing, it is extremely tight (it is better with a punch cut or end cut, rather than a diamond cut) and has tendency to burn unevenly due to the draw problems. After what I am used to from Partagas this was not a great experience.

Very good cigar

I just got the 54's sampler and this cigar was in it. I had it this morning after breakfest and was very pleased. It tastes very chocolatey and burned nice. I think I will order a bax - I was very happy with this cigar.

Perhaps Best Valued non-Cuban Cigar

As a Canadian, I enjoy smoking Cuban cigars anytime I want and my Humidor is always well stocked with Cubans. Therefore, you can believe me when I tell you that the Partagas Spanish Rosado San Agustin is a worthy adversary to my regular Cuban Cohibas, Monte Cristos and Trinidads. The Partagas Spanish Rosado San Agustin is one of the few non-Cuban cigars that I enjoy, as it is always well constructed, with a great taste, draw and burn. Truly a pleasure to smoke.

disappointing

appearance and construction do not save this cigar. flat from light up till 3/4 down until i was just disgusted and threw it in the street.

Shouldn't hold the same name as the famous Cuban.

I must say that a tear almost formed in my eye after trying this cigar. I tried one right out of a full box. It had a horrible burn the taste was pure Dominican Partagas. I feel that they should stick to the cubans and quit flooding our market with this American style cigar.

Excellent flavor, smooth, very well done

Partagas has done a very nice job with this Spanish Rosado cigar. Excellent flavor, and you don’t have to go searching for it either. The flavor is pronounced & tangy, but tangy without any bite – nice and smooth. Nice burn, nice draw, excellent construction, and good consistency.---------------- Just for the sake of comparison, I’m extremely jaded, and even though this cigar is one of the more flavorful selections on the market, I’m looking for more flavor (bring on the 60 ring gauge). For those who prefer a milder cigar, this cigar might not be for you at all – it may very well be just too much. But for those who prefer a fuller flavor experience, you might just fall totally in love with it. Either way, if you’re used to bigger flavor, or if you’re looking to see what bigger flavor is all about, I consider this stick a must try.

Very good--what I'd expect of Partagas

I'm a big fan of regular Partagas, with its Cameroon wrapper, so I was hopeful, yet unsure, about Spanish Rosado. I'm happy to report it was a very good cigar, with a full taste, yet smooth and not at all harsh. My only complaint is that I had to relight it several times as I smoked it, after knocking off the first ash. I'm looking forward to trying it again.

Solid Taste, Great Experience

This is an excellent, strong, memorable smoke. There is some inconsistency in the burn, but the taste, aroma and over-all quality are superb. It's too "strong" for my every-day cigar, but this afternoon, on the deck with a glass of Scotch, watching a winter strom blow through, it was absolutely perfect. A unique, full-bodied, long-lasting experience.

Toasted Macadamia

The first reviewer was certainly correct...The aftertaste lingers for nearly an eternity. However, there is nothing in the least bit displeasing about it. This cigar has a great, sweet and nutty flavor which, I can only describe as toasted macadamia. Excellent!

Sweet, nutty, copious smoke, even burn, wht. ash

I find this new cigar to be a very tasty, medium bodied, extremely satisfying, lesiurly smoke that burned evenly producing mucho smoke with a strong, white ash. After smoking my first stick, I ordered 2 boxes. Have added them to my favorites list.

Tried these for the very first time and definitely are adding them to our favorites.

aftertaste

After hearing a lot of good things about this cigar, I was looking forward to trying one. It started out fine, with a nice ash and a solid draw. But I've gotta say I was disappointed with the aftertaste, which was unpleasant and stuck with me for much of the next day. Maybe I got a bad cigar. I'd be willing to try another, as I've generally been pleased with Partagas in the past. Watch out for this one, though. It stays with you!
