Don't be fooled

This cigar disappointed me a lot. Its made by a manufacture known for fine cigars, but this is not one of them. First off it tasted like crap, and most of them burned up one side. I think you call that canoeing. Second, the tasted like crap part. It started off as a reasonable tasting cigar, but quickly lead into a very bitter tasting poor cigar, and never got any better. I am sorry I bought these things. They were a complete waste time and money.

Look elsewhere

Don't buy the Factory Selects. Buy the Factory Seconds. The Selects are inconsistent, 8 out of ten have extremely tight draws. Plus, the product description saying these are an "edgy" alternative is a flat-out lie. These do NOT taste like the Edge, they taste like the Cuban Blend maduros (far inferior to the Edge maduro). I'm stickin with the factory seconds from rocky, they are constructed a hell of a lot better than these things. Beware, and have a draw-poker handy if you bought some of these.

Great but....

Working on my first bundle and they really are a good smoke, but...so far I have gotten two with very bad draws out of the 10 I have smoked. When the draw is good they are a great cigar but when you get one that you can't get any smoke out of, it's real frustrating, even the ol' poker doesn't help.

Wow, a nice surprise for a factory select!

A good every day cigar. Rivals some of the more expensive smokes for half the cost.

I like 'em..............great buy.

I ordered a bundle of these to try. Good burn and good ash. They were good enough to let my buddy Richard smoke. He is real picky about cigars. So...............I ordred another bundle. It's worth the price for sure.

Great value

These cigars are a great value. I ordered a box when they were on sale at cigarmonster.com. I wish I had ordered more. Next time they're on sale I'll order three or four boxes. Even at the usual price these are a good value. They blow away cigars that sell for substantially more money.

Pleasant surprise

Needed a short smoke, these were on sale, gave them a try. Surprisingly good. Went back to order several bundles and alas the sale was over. However, they will be a regular in my stock.

Proof One Needn't Pay a High Price for Quality

The day before I got this shipment I had tried my first Edge in a Dark Maduro wrapper. I thought it quite a nice smoke. Though I know not to smoke any shipped gar before allowing it to settle in my humidor for a while I took a few with me anyway - to a gathering of friends. This Complex Bold winner was the talk of the party. I wanted to wait until this beauty had a chance to settle in my humidor before I wrote about them and oh boy! These have become my new best smoke! Rich, Complex, Bold yet Smooth as silk
a real finger burner! Thanks Rocky and thanks Famous you both hit a Home Run with this one. I will be watching out for them to go on sale again
$2 a gar why ever pay more?

Maduro?

These cigars are dyed to look dark. They leave a brown stain on fingers and lips. The wrapper is not a real maduro leaf. I did not like them at all. Would not recommend.

Xmas Hit

I gave bundles of these out to some of my cigar smoking friends for Xmas. I have received nothing but positive feedback on the cigars and countless thank you's for my present to them. I knew they wouldn't be bringing these babies back for an exchange.

Not near as good as the naturals; uneven burn.

Was disappointed with the maduro; not even close to the naturals; uneven burn, had to relight, somewhat hollow.

too many 'gars

Got these two weeks ago. Put them in the humidor. I was not planning on hitting them for a month. Thought I would take a shot.
Sooo glad I did. Smoot, with a great draw. Spicy, a little sweetness, burns forever. Im half way throughand waiting for the rest.....

Powerhouse of a cigar

The sun grown factory selects used to be my favorite cigar , this one however has surpassed it! This one is very full bodied, but never harsh. I have never been disappointed with a Rocky Patel cigar. If you want to pay for pretty boxes and bands you can, but you wont find a better cigar!

OH YEAH BABY

I got this bundle on sale. I will tell you that the next time it goes on sale, I'm going to FILL one of my humidors with it. This is a great cigar, at a great price. When they're on sale, they're 2 bucks a STICK. It just can't be beat for quality/price value!! NO WAY.

Robust and delicious

Since the sun-grown factory selects are so good I figured I'd give the maduro a try. Good thought. More complex than the edge at less than half the price. What part don't I understand. I just ordered more and I hope they don't run out. Can't describe cigars like some of you but I do know what I like and these I like. Rocky is the champion, no pun intended.

The best value ever!!

I smoked an Edge about a week ago. I ordered a bundle of these because I was looking for an inexpensive everyday cigar. I smoked one right out of the bundle, which I've never done before. I just ordered 5 bundles. It's scary to think what this cigar will be like after some time in the humidor. It makes everything else that I have in my humidor seem like a Marlboro Light. This is an excellent value.

NOT CRAZY 4 THEM

I bought some fuente 858 chateau maduro and they are completely AWSOME, Wanted to try another maduro, this rocky does not stay lit, burns hot ,and I don't see what all the fuss is about, even though it's only $2.00 a pop!!The fuente are so worth the extra $15.00 a 20box.Thats just my opinion!!???!!?

How do they do it?!

If more people knew what these cigars really were like the inventory wouldn't last long. These torpedos are absolutely mouth watering. Hints of cocoa, coffee, and subtle sweetness. A top-shelf smoke for a bargain price- hope too many people don't find out about these! ;-)

You May Want To Take Out A Loan

It's an unusual situation, to say the least. When do you find a bundled cigar that surpasses its banded sisters in construction and flavor? If you like Rocky's The Edge Maduro and Famous's RP Cuban Blend Maduro, these "on special" are an absolute no brainer must buy. At $39.95 a bundle, these sticks are one of the best values available. Hey, at their regular price, they ain't too shabby, but at 2-bucks a stick, it's one of those "ship 'em to the office buys" so Momma don't see the delivery of the fifteen pound box. The only problem I had with my first bundle was that I smoked it in a week. Every cigar in that bundle was identical; dark, packed with tobacco, beautifully rolled, and with a perfect draw. I can tolerate alot of sins in a cigar, but the draw can't be tight or too loose. The draw on bundle #1 of these torps was spot on. And the burn...not one correction. Truth be known, given the choice of wrappers for my regular smokes, I prefer sungrown, but these maduros are just too good to pass up.

Light Them Up Gentlemen

Of the 20+ humidors I have throughout my house, at least 2 of them contain nothing but Rocky Patel cigars. Of those, the Maduro Torpedos' are the ones I go to first. There's nothing better than a great cigar and a nice glass of wine. Life is good, and Famous Smokes makes the good life even better. Thanks Authur.

This is it !

I buy 90% of my cigars from Famous, and I have learned two things. Never smoke a "shipped cigar", until it has been in your humidor, a month. The other thing I have learned, is that I don't have to over-pay for cigars. This is a strong, well constructed, and consistent cigar. It is my first choice. Have 80 of the Maduro, and 60 Coroho, in the humidor...so I just ordered more. A real deal !

What a GREAT cigar

I am totally impressed with the outstanding quality and flavor of this cigar. The wrapper is a gorgeous dark brown with an oily sheen. This cigar is solid and uniform throughout, with a perfect draw and razor sharp burn. The flavor profile reminds me of the initial release of the EDGE. Medium plus bodied, with a complex and layered flavor profile. Some spice, cedar, chocolate, and other nice flavors here. FSS keeps hitting home runs with these house brands....it's killing my wallet. :>) Great job FSS and Rocky..a great cigar at a great price. Thanks!

nice smoke

A fairly good smoke, good flavor, nice construstion with some nice filler. some time in the humador and they may be even get better. I do give them a high mark for a second. One should also try the La Vieja Habana Maduro, another good 2.00 stick.

Great Cigar

I figured since the sungrown selects were so good why not try the maduro. Glad I did. Very robust with a good aroma from a maduro. Burned good and smoked good and tasted good. I've just ordered the mini belicosas. I would have to say I have not had a bad Rocky Patel cigar and I can't say that about other brands.
