Good taste, poor construction.

This cigar is pretty consistent when it comes to construction. Most had a hard draw, all split while smoking and when the band was removed every one had wrapper damage from the glue. The taste was pretty good and enjoyable with coffee in the morning. If you buy any, use a Fletchman Tool® to clear the plug then smoke them to the band and toss.

One horrible cigar!

Won these at auction for 60 cents a stick, and overpayed by about 60 cents a stick. I only smoked one, which from the prelight smell I knew was going to be a mistake, and I was right. It's my own fault for trying to find a real "bargain". I can't even in good conscience return these for fear they'll be resold to some other poor soul. I'll do my part to protect others and throw these in the trash. (I may give them some time in the humidor, but I haven't really decided that - don't want to poison my humidor for any future storage.)
Based on my exhaustive research (enduring part of one of these cigars) I can say these would make a great smoking cessation product. I'm fairly certain if you were to smoke one of these a day for a few days you would never want another cigar.
For those of you who gave these positive reviews, you must've got lucky and got some from a different crop.
If you want a good value cigar, stay away from these and order the Flor de Oliva bundles instead. They are so far superior to these they really shouldn't be mentioned in the same posting.

The worst cigar I have smoked

I won this 5-pack for $6.00 + shipping cost. I just received them and walked across the street to the Federal Plaza to try one: I figured they were real cheap so what did I have to lose. This cigar had hints of licorice before being lit, afterward the wrapper virtually came apart and when lit it left a taste of green leaves on my tongue. At this point I am considering throwing them out or let them rest in my humidor for a couple of months. Frankly I don't think it will help these sticks. Well there you go you get what you pay for($6.00). They may be worth $6.00 but are surely not worth the additional $6.00 in shipping cost.

Smelled like a skunk

Won a bundle in an auction, only paid 15.00 for them and wish that I had not bid that much. The construction is OK at best, the burn was decent, the taste was close to smoking air, the aroma reminded me of a skunk with a bad attitude. Overall a very poor cigar that I don't even think time in a humidor would help. I will not be ordering this brand again nor would I give them away to a friend if I wanted to remain their friend.

Not bad.

I recently bought at auction the Tesoro Torpedo 5 pack cigars. They are very mild and stays lit. The wrapper breaks easily if you are not careful. At $1.00 a stick they are reasonable enough. The length of the Torpedo keeps you smoking quite awhile. It is not likely they will become a favorite of mine.

Worth A Try!

I recently won a five pack of Tesoro Torpedoes for just four bucks. You can never go wrong with a buck smoke no matter how bad it smokes. With that said, these smokes were pretty darn good. They had a mild flavor with hints of spice and cedar. These torpedoes are made of Dominican long fillers and finished with a Connecticut wrapper. They were well constructed and held an even burn all the way to the finger tips. Also, they did not leave an after taste. These smokes measure 6.5 x 52 and run $3.40 a stick. These are worth a try and make a great daily smoke.

Good Cigar

The Tesoro Polo 5 pack I had all smoked just fine. Good draw, nice even burn with a silvery solid ash, had no problems with them staying lit. A tad milder than my usual smokes but a good tasty cigar with a good aftertaste. Liked 'em, will pick up a bundle next time.

Had worse, these are not my "norm" smoke

Well after reading the other reviews, I called a local farmer and had him get the mule ready. Based on other comments here, I figured kissing a mule's ass would get the taste out of my mouth from these smokes, but it was not needed. They are a little rough, but mild. Taste is a little harsh and I am an ACID and Natural by Drew Estate person, so these are way off the norm for me. I like the Value Line smokes and I enjoy a Bacarat every now and then, but these are way from any of those. Cost was less than $1 a stick even after shipping, so it was worth it.

There are better cheaper cigars

I purchased a 5 pack to see what they were like. I've only smoked two so far and both exhibited the following properties: I have to agree with others that they start out not that great, get a little better maybe an inch into it, then bad again about midway. The burn was a little uneven at first (probably why neither would stay lit) and settled out after I kept rotating it. I had to draw on it more than normal to keep it lit as well. I could only smoke both about half way before I just couldn't take anymore. LOL These were kept in my humidor (68%) for several months before I even smoked the first one. I doubt I'll buy any more.

Don't waste your time

If you fire up one of these at your "weekly card game" expect to be banished immediately, with rather blunt instructions from the guys to bring a real cigar next time. They have: no flavor, poor construction, and an unpleasant aroma. What they have: dirt cheap price which the unrefined smoker might find attractive, if price is what really matters most to them.

I won a 5 pack in an auction for three dollars and for the price, I think these Tesoros are just fine. Drew well, I always sample various 5 packs, but for the price I could make this an everyday cigar. Nothing mind blowing, but for less than a buck a stick, I would sample again.

A PIECE OF CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got a won a couple of 5 packs from the auction site because they were pretty cheap(I thought what did I have to lose). When I got them, I fired one up and found out why they were so cheap. I would compare it to a dog turd, it stunk! It kept on going out unless I puffed on it constantly(why I lit it back up is beyond me) and came completely unwrapped after about half way though. Wow it was bad! So I let them sit awhile and tried another one, this wasn't bad. The next one I couldn't even draw through it to get it lit. I tried another and boy it was worse then the first one. What to do with the rest? Two of them are hard as rock(I'm not joking). My advice to you is; If you are daring or just love a great deal or love punishment or need something to break up concrete................YOU HAVE FOUND YOURSELF A CIGAR

Pleasantly Surprised

I won a 5 pack of the Polos off the CigarAuctioneer page. I figured that at $3 for the lot I couldn't go wrong, but after reading all the reviews off this page I had second thoughts. ;>)
I didn't experience any of the bad things the other guys had. The burn stayed consistant throughout the smoke as did the mild flavor.
My only beef is that the construction is horrible. About a 1/3 of the way down a crack developed just above the foot and it made it somewhat difficult to draw.
The cigar wasn't near being the best one I ever smoked, but on the other hand it wasn't the worst. For the price it seems like a decent smoke for when you're doing yard duty or walking the dog.

Suprise

I've been smoking Romeo Y Julieta's and an occasional Punch 6x50's size. No longer wanting to pay $80 to $100 for a box every three weeks, I am sampling various bundles. This cigar was my first sample. Keep in mind I'm comparing to the cigars I've been smoking at over twice the price. I also found this cigar burned uneven through out the smoke, BUT so does Rom Y Jul & Punch. The draw was consistently good. Only slightly effected when the burn was uneven. The taste was consistent and a step above what I've been smoking. Maybe I have bad taste in cigars. I have two more to smoke before I make a final desision. The uneven burn,if it gets worse, may be the deciding factor.

A good everyday smoke

I have been smoking this brand for awhile now. After reading all the bad reviews, I hesitate to make a positive remark about this cigar. But, I think this is the best budget cigar I have ever smoked. Sure, some have bad spots that you couldn't burn with flowing lava, but I realise that with cheap cigars. I throw away the 10% of these cigars that are unsmokeable and lite up another. The other 90% are as good, actually I think better, than the La Unica 200s I smoke in public.

Make friends - get rid of 'em by giving 'em away.

I am a BIG fan of famous-smoke.com. I've gotten some great smokes at low prices, often because of the ratings. But something is amiss with the Gigante. The numbers were VERY high - 8's and 9's and for just over $1 per stick, pretty amazing. Well, I ordered some. While awaiting shipment I went back to read the actual typed reviews. ALL of them said the smoke was lousy. How then, did it get high numbers on the ratings? Beats me, but something doesn't add up.
Anyway, as for the smoke - I'm giving 'em away. Each is guilty of canoe burning. The draw is way too light. The smoke doesn't get acceptable until about half way down and then just barely.
I can't recommend them at all except for use as a gag gift for someone who doesn't know cigars.

Sooooo Bad!! So Bad!!

Ordered a bundle of the 6X50 size. Probably the worst cigar I ever "tried" to smoke. Could not smoke most of them without constant nursing. Some wouldn't even smoke. Surprisingly one was really good even though I had to mash it almost flat to smoke it. Cut one of them open and found only tiny bits of leaves with colors ranging from black to pale brown (?). Very much surprized that Famous still offers this, much less says anything good about it. It did not improve with age.

So-so cigar

Bought a few Tesoro Churchill maduros on sale. They are a reasonably decent cigar. Draw is OK and burn is so-so, taste is absent/blah. Seeing as they're only $30 per bundle, I'd say it's a decent deal if you want to put something smoking in your mouth. If you're looking for something to get excited over, this ain't it.
