Rocky Patel Vintage 1999 Cigars

Disappointing

I got a box of these little RP Vintage 1999's in auction for just over half price. Given the reviews I was expecting a lot. It doesn't deliver. What we have here is a typical RP OMG strong cigar with an expensive CT wrapper. Fine for some, not for me.

shorties i can get into

hehe.... just for kicks i bought these little ladies on auction on the cheap. I admit i had a blonde moment when trying to figure out which end to light... i had to laugh as it was funny at the time. After lighting up, i was surprized by the crisp clean taste. I mean folks thses little beauties are smooth as smooth can get. the flavor is earthy,creamy,and just plain good. The burn on the other hand was a disapointment from the other RP brands/styles i have smoked. The burn started to run like a track star running sprints.... had to flame it to even it out(was not amused by this at all).Once i got the burn even all was well from there on. Since i got a box i hope the bad burn is only a one time instance, if not, it may keep me from buying more of these great tasting mellow smokes. These are a good stick other than the burn. The flavor is great and very enjoyable. The ash is firm,white, and dropped only after i was almost finished with it. One of the best qualities about the 1999 Perfecto is that it is ideal,in a setting where you have a limited time to smoke. I'll probably be trying the other 1999 vintage in perhaps a toro or churchill to see if they burn different and retain the flavour, and smooth draw. try these as an impulse, or a 5pk if you can. the flavor is worth it....

Simply the best all around!!!!

RP is a leader in construction, taste and aroma. I just wish the 99's were more available in my area. I have to order them as the only way to get them. Thanks God for FSS.

Wrapper wasn't good.

There is nothing I hate more than a wrapper that starts unrolling immediatley from the gar. This one flaked and unravelled from the get go. This was not a bad taste but the wrapper hacked me off.

unforgivable

this cigar blew my mind away, I am in love, something about it. I normally smoke Master Blends 3 and CAO Brazilias, but decided to give these girls a go. If you don't have anything good to say about this creamy smoke-you should go back to smoking white owls and Philly blunts at the local gas station.

Beautiful to smoke, but a bit shy on the flavor

This was a beautiful cigar; what everyone craves and few makers can produce. The wrapper was flawless, the cigar smoked beautifully right down to the nub. No relights or fixes. It was a bit on the light side; Macanudo light. I won't hesitate to try some other RP's but this was certainly a beginners cigar.

Simply amazing

I dont know how they do it, but this is a truly amazing cigar. This cigar has a tantalizing flavor, outstanding construction, and an aroma to die for. This cigar is the perfect medium between the 90/92 vintage and the AMS. Everyone I have recommended this cigar to has been hooked. The easiest way to describe this cigar is simple amazing and irresistible.

Simply Superb

I am a RP fan in general having a real affinity for the Sun Grown. I have tried them all. This past weekend I was able to enjoy several real Cuban Cohibas, and found them excellent, but burned somewhat uneven, and needing a relight a time or two. I took along part of my box of Vintage 99's and enjoyed them just as much. This is a very well constructed puro, burns very even, with the best draw of any cigar I have smoked. Wonderful thick aroma--if you enjoy medium blends--- and I do often. Never needs relit, the burn is nearly perfect. Excellent taste. The aging of the tobacco's spring out with both taste and smell. Nice on the palate. Goes very well with a nice evening glass of port

BITTER !!!

Great aroma,excellent burn but leaves a bitter after taste, I thought it might be the blend but at this point im not sure because all of the light wrapper RP'S have left a bitter after taste and its very disapointing because I really like the aroma of the rockys , I guess im going to have to stick to the edge only, because so far its the only rockey that dosent leave that nastey after taste with the exception of the rp cuban blend that lost the bitterness after it sat in my humidor for a couple of weeks.

Rocky Rules

This is a great smoke. I can't seem to fine fault with any of Rocky's smokes and this Vintage 1999 is no exception. The burn was perfect. The taste was mild yet very flavorfull and left a great after taste in your mouth. I smoked it to the nub! Worht every penny!
