Diablo Picante 5 Pack
"Great for the money"
Purchased these from the Monster. I lit one up right away and was pleasantly surprised. The little guy was actually somewhat complex, especially considering the size and price. No problems with the burn, the draw was perfect and it tasted great all the way down to the nub. I don't think any humidor time is necessary with the these. I recommend them.

Diablo Picante 5 Pack
"Good Value"
I was pleasantly suprised by this cigar. They were mild and burned evenly for about a 45min smoke. I will buy again! For a few dollars a cigar they are a bargain.

"yippi hi aye"
spicey, flavor, color, texture, great smoke, cool and smooth all the way to where I needed a blunt clip to smoke it. An awesome cigar. Only gripe is a bit of wrapper came undone close to the tip.
The girlfriend rating... wow smells good, I wanna try it!

Diablo Picante 5 Pack
"Good with the Bad"
Some good some not so much. I get about a 50/50 chance of getting a good smoke here.
Burn is generally good all the way to the band but the taste is inconsistant from smoke to smoke. At light up there is a bit of a bite to them but as the ash grows so does the enjoyment.
I had had several were the wrapper likes to flake away. Also had a couple that were way too tight and made for a difficult draw.
I do find that over all they are a good tasting smoke and get better the longer you let them sit. Very strong right out of the box.

"Inconsistent construction/bad draw on half"
I am an experienced (10 years) cigar smoker and have bought hundreds of boxes of cigars over the years - including Cuban cigars.
I would not buy these again. Easily half of the smokes in the box I received were badly rolled, resulting in obvious tight spots along the length that made the draw so restricted that the cigar couldn't be smoked.
Sometimes I was able to cut off the offending portion and smoke what was left. Often I just tossed the thing.
These smokes are VERY reminiscent of Famous's La Floridita smokes I've had in both draw and taste ... I suspect they are from the same factory and are just packaged differently.

"Should have read the last review"
Not for the weak at heart. Rough bitter tast. Won't buy again.

Diablo Picante 5 Pack
"Still Average Over Time"
Ok, I won a five pack of the Picantes at an auction. I tried one as soon as I got them. It was an average smoke with a bit of a peppry taste. I tried another two weeks later and there was still no change. I have tried my last three after three, six, and twelve months in my humidor. While they did mellow out a little over time, I did not notice a significant change. I'll stick to my Sancho Panza Double Maduro Quixotes for my every day go to cigar.

"Unimpressive at the beginning, then..."
Won a 5 pack on auction and had them sitting in the humidor for about 2 weeks. Finally got to light one up. As far as the taste, the first few minutes into it were pretty unimpressive, not much flavor. About a quater of the way thru, the flavor kicked in and every puff got tastier. The burn and ash were great, the draw was just a little tighter then I like. I enjoyed it along with 4 fingers of Hennessy
