La Aurora Escogidos 5 Pack
"Didn't care for it....."
I went out on a limb and got a 5-pack. It didn't light easy and it burned very unevenly. The taste was nothing special. I didn't pick up any distinct flavor notes. Pretty bland from start to finish. It was my first sample of La Aurora. I'll try others and try to keep an open mind.....

La Aurora Escogidos 5 Pack
"Viva La Aurora"
Inspite of a marginal review, I decided to purchase this cigar and experience it myself. The most important things for me is consistency with flavor, draw, and burn. Because of windage, I can't rate the burn without consideration. Consistency: with regard to flavor it was consistent with creamy citrus like flavors from foot to head with abundance shortly after lighting and increasing until it reached nub level. I was highly pleased with the taste.
Draw was excellent. Appearance wise, attractive caramel wrapper coated with oil head to foot with an art quality band.
Construction was very well as far as appearance and feel. I've seen slightly better looking cigars that do not compare taste wise.
A strong recommendation on this one. Your budget will determine whether you purchase as a Cigar Monster value or at regular price. La Aurora produced an excellent smoking experience with this work of art.

La Aurora Sublimes (Tube)
"Great short smoke that travels well"
These are a staple short travel smoke in my humidor. They are a nice short smoke for those colder outdoor smoking days and for travel. I travel for work and camp/kayak. The tubes make for perfect protection from bag damage wheter it be a briefcase or a pack. The smoke is typical Cameroon. Nutty, coffee, leather notes. Sometimes a bit inconsistent on the fire up but they always smooth out and finish strong. They have a nice medium color and they are not the prettiest sticks but they smoke well. I put them on par with the Cohiba Pequenos, another short smoke staple in my hunidor. About 20-30 minutes of flavorful enjoyment.

La Aurora Escogidos 5 Pack
"Me Likey - Likey"
I've smoked 2 of my 5 pk thus far; and really dig the taste of this Camaroon. Baked pecan pie crust comes to mind when puffing on this perfectly pleasant surprise. I had some issues with the first one dyeing out a few too many times(perhaps over humidified?); but the second one did not fizzle out once. The taste b/ the 2 is consistent.... EXCELLENT. Keep your eyes open for the next Monster Deal. You won't regret it.

La Aurora Escogidos 5 Pack
"Decent Medium Bodied Cigar - But 'Way Overpriced"
I picked up a 5-pack of these Escognidos at auction here for about $15. I was shocked that I won the auction since the Escognidos (given with pride to tourists and VIPs @ Aurora factory tours) are somewhat hard to find and retail for $10 per and up per stick. Famous doesn't give you any specifics about about this Aurora Escogidos cigar - they just provide a generic Aurora write-up for it so I doubt they sell many at Famous' regular price of $50 for a 5-pack. Anyway, IMO, the Escogidos doesn't live up to it's reputation. I didn't find the "sweetness" some reviewers attribute to it (a good or a bad thing depending on your preferences) and, to me, it seemed just a notch below the "regular" Aurora Robusto. Aurora's "Barrel Aged" version, I think, is a much better cigar and sells for considerably less $$.
