Peppery
for
by in City by the Bay on March 30, 2014

Started off medium-to-full and with notes of black pepper, then shortly after opened up to red pepper. Became medium-full after the midpoint, then the pepper tamed down and it became more earthy on the last third, while the draw, which had been outstanding to this point, became tighter. The red pepper than made another showing at the nub, and the nicotine also went up a notch. Burned for about an hour and a half. Nicotine strength was a medium overall. Based on the rather inconsistent burn I m guessing these could use more time in the humidor. 90 points.

Looks like a Billion $, Smokes like a Million
for L'Atelier Lat56
by in Georgia on January 23, 2014

When I heard Pete Johnson was inspired by the Cohiba Behike, I had to give this one a burn. Looks exquisite out of the wrapper and is very well constructed. It took a minute to lit, but the burn was superb. A smooth creamy flavor that got heartier towards the back end. Not as full-bodied as the construction and smoke would suggest but well worth the price. Very good but not exceptional smoke.
