Padilla Miami Maduro Torpedo
The Padilla Miami Maduro is a follow up the the highly rated Padilla Miami that swept the cigar smoking world by storm. This new blend from the great El Titan de Bronze factory in Miami is produced using traditional Cuban style techniques making this small batch cigar an ode to old Cuba. It all starts with Cuban seed Nicaraguan fillers and a Mexican San Andres maduro wrapper. Rolling only occurs every 2 months so supplies are limited. Be the first in your group to try this outstanding cigar.
Very good, nutty flavor, but poor construction. The flavor was better during the first half than during the second. Burnt unevenly, canoing, albeit somewhat self-correcting. The wrapper comes undone easily, and the tobacco is rather loosely packed. Wouldn't mind having it again but won't seek it out. The Nicaraguan-made Padilla La Reserva is so much better.
The original Padilla Miami was one of my favorites. I just tried the new new maduro. It started out strong but mellowed a quarter of the way through. I would still rack it a full cigar. The flavors were okay but the appliance and burn was perfect. Please bring back the old Miami!
