Pinar Del Rio Oscuro Corona
"A Diappointing Waste of Money"
Bought a box of coronas with a free robusto sample. Without exception, every one of these (about 8 so far) have burned like a pile of newspaper. Fly ash everywhere and requiring relight several times. An occasional misfit is acceptable and sometimes to be expected but, these are consistently poorly constructed and WAY overpriced. The robustos do seem to burn a little better. The only good thing I can say about them is, the flavor, though subtle, is pleasant. I have much better cigars in my humidor that I have paid a third of the price for.

Pinar Del Rio Oscuro Robusto
"Are you kidding me? Waste your money elsewhere...."
I received a few samplers of PdR offered by FSS about a month ago. The first robusto I smoked, the oscuro, sat in the humi since delivery. Yesterday, I "attempted" to smoke it. Upon lighting, the wrapper didn't burn. I found this odd, but figured it would correct itself as I smoked on. I was wrong. In fact, the wrapper barely burned at all. Eventually, I just gave up on smoking the thing. On a positive note, the taste was decent, but the burn was so ridiculous that this cigar was simply not worth smoking to completion. (BTW - I checked the RH in my humidor thinking the burn was the result of too much moisture; RH was 68%)

Pinar Del Rio 4 Cigar Sampler
"Grab at least three samplers"
The mooks at Herfer's Paradise gave these a glowing review, so I grabbed a couple of samplers during the last time there was a sale offer. Holy shmolly, these are terrific smokes. I'm not sure which of the four blends I prefer, but that SunGrown keeps calling out to me, "Come get me, honey." Seriously, this time out, it looks like if you buy three of the samplers, you get 'em for 10 bucks each, $2.50 a stick. (I gotta remind myself it's post Schip.)They oughta toss in free shipping and a bottle of Balvenie Portwood if you buy 10 samplers.

Pinar Del Rio Oscuro Robusto 5 pack
"Very Tasty Cigar"
I'm usually not much on mild cigars, but these are exceptional. No burn or construction issues. A hint of spice during the light up, & it just keeps getting better. A mild creamy smooth smoke. This cigar develops many subtle flavors as it burns. The Oscuro wrapper really sets this blend off. I suggest something longer than a robusto, because it just didn't last long enough for me.
